Josué 21
1 Et les Chefs de famille des Lévites s'approchèrent du Prêtre Eléazar et de Josué, fils de Nun, et des Chefs de famille des Tribus des enfants d'Israël,
Then came the principall fathers of the Leuites vnto Eleazar the Priest, and vnto Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and vnto the chiefe fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel,
2 et leur parlèrent à Silo, dans le pays de Canaan, en ces termes: L'Éternel a ordonné par l'organe de Moïse qu'on nous donne des villes pour nous loger, avec leurs banlieues pour notre bétail.
And spake vnto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The Lord commanded by the hande of Moses, to giue vs cities to dwell in, with the suburbes thereof for our cattell.
3 Alors les enfants d'Israël donnèrent aux Lévites, sur leur propriété, d'après l'ordre de l'Éternel, ces villes et leurs banlieues.
So the children of Israel gaue vnto the Leuites, out of their inheritance at the commandement of the Lord these cities with their suburbes.
4 Et le sort fut tiré pour les familles des Kahathites. Et les fils du Prêtre Aaron d'entre les Lévites obtinrent par le sort, de la Tribu de Juda et de la Tribu de Siméon et de la Tribu de Benjamin, treize villes.
And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron ye Priest, which were of the Leuites, had by lot, out of the tribe of Iudah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Beniamin thirteene cities.
5 Et les fils de Kahath restants obtinrent par le sort, des familles de la Tribu d'Ephraïm et de la Tribu de Dan et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé, dix villes.
And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, tenne cities.
6 Et les fils de Gerson obtinrent par le sort, des familles de la Tribu d'Issaschar et de la Tribu d'Asser et de la Tribu de Nephthali et de la [seconde] moitié de la Tribu de Manassé en Basan, treize villes.
Also the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of ye tribe of Naphtali, and out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteene cities.
7 Les fils de Merari, en raison de leurs familles, obtinrent de la Tribu de Ruben et de la Tribu de Gad et de la Tribu de Zabulon, douze villes.
The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelue cities.
8 Ainsi les enfants d'Israël donnèrent par le sort aux Lévites ces villes-là et leurs banlieues, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné par l'organe de Moïse.
So the children of Israel gaue by lot vnto the Leuites these cities with their suburbes, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.
9 Et de la Tribu des fils de Juda, et de la Tribu des fils de Siméon ils donnèrent ces villes qui vont être indiquées nominativement.
And they gaue out of the tribe of the children of Iudah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeo, these cities which are here named.
10 Aux fils d'Aaron, familles des Kahathites, enfants de Lévi (car ils eurent le premier lot)
And they were the childrens of Aaron being of the families of the Kohathites, and of the sonnes of Leui, (for theirs was the first lot)
11 ils donnèrent la ville d'Arba (celui-ci est le père des Anakites), c'est-à-dire, Hébron dans la montagne de Juda et sa banlieue d'alentour.
So they gaue them Kiriath-arba of the father of Anok (which is Hebron) in the mountaine of Iudah, with the suburbes of the same round about it.
12 Quant à la campagne de la ville et à ses villages, ils les donnèrent à Caleb, fils de Jéphuné, en propriété.
(But the lande of the citie, and the villages thereof, gaue they to Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh to be his possession)
13 Et aux fils du Prêtre Aaron ils donnèrent la ville de refuge pour l'homicide, Hébron et sa banlieue, et Libna et sa banlieue
Thus they gaue to the children of Aaron the Priest, a citie of refuge for the slaier, euen Hebron with her suburbes, and Libnah with her suburbes,
14 et Jatkthir et sa banlieue, et Esthmoa et sa banlieue,
And Iattir with her suburbes, and Eshtemoa, and her suburbes,
15 et Holon et sa banlieue, et Débir et sa banlieue,
And Holon with her suburbes, and Debir with her suburbes,
16 et Aïn et sa banlieue, et Jutta et sa banlieue, et Beth-Semès et sa banlieue: neuf villes de ces deux Tribus;
And Ain with her suburbes, and Iuttah with her suburbes, Beth-shemesh with her suburbes: nine cities out of those two tribes.
17 et de la Tribu de Benjamin, Gabaon et sa banlieue,
And out of the tribe of Beniamin they gaue Gibeon with her suburbes, Geba with her suburbes,
18 et Geba et sa banlieue: et Anathoth et sa banlieue, et Almon et sa banlieue, quatre villes.
Anathoth with her suburbes, and Almon with her suburbes: foure cities.
19 Total des villes des Prêtres, fils d'Aaron: treize villes avec leurs banlieues.
All the cities of the children of Aaron Priests, were thirteene cities with their suburbes.
20 Et quant aux familles des fils de Kahath, Lévites restants des fils de Kahath, les villes de leur lot étaient de la Tribu d'Ephraïm.
But to the families of the children of Kohath of the Leuites, which were the rest of the children of Kohath (for the cities of their lot were out of the tribe of Ephraim)
21 Et ils leur donnèrent la ville de refuge pour l'homicide, Sichem et sa banlieue dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, et Gézer et sa banlieue,
They gaue them the citie of refuge for the slaier, Shechem with her suburbes in mount Ephraim, and Gezer with her suburbes,
22 et Kibtsaïm et sa banlieue, et Beth-Horon et sa banlieue: quatre villes;
And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbes: foure cities.
23 et de la Tribu de Dan, Elthékê et sa banlieue, Gibthon et sa banlieue,
And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbes, Gibethon with her suburbes,
24 Ajalon et sa banlieue, Gath-Rimmon et sa banlieue: quatre villes;
Aiialon with her suburbes, Gath-rimmon with her suburbes: foure cities.
25 et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé, Thaënach et sa banlieue, et Gath-Rimmon et sa banlieue: deux villes;
And out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbes, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbes: two cities.
26 total, dix villes avec leurs banlieues pour les familles des fils de Kahath restants.
All the cities for the other families of the children of Kohath were ten with their suburbes.
27 Et aux fils de Gerson, des familles des Lévites, de la demi-Tribu de Manassé, la ville de refuge pour l'homicide, Golan en Basan et sa banlieue, et Béesthra et sa banlieue: deux villes;
Also vnto the children of Gershon of the families of the Leuites, they gaue out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, the citie of refuge for the slaier, Golan in Bashan with her suburbes, and Beeshterah with her suburbes: two cities.
28 et de la Tribu d'Issaschar, Kisjon et sa banlieue,
And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbes, Dabereh with her suburbes,
29 Dabrath et sa banlieue, Jarmuth et sa banlieue, Ein-Gannim et sa banlieue: quatre villes;
Iarmuth with her suburbes, En-gannim with her suburbes: foure cities.
30 et de la Tribu d'Asser, Miseal et sa banlieue, Abdon et sa banlieue,
And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbes, Abdon with her suburbes,
31 Helkath et sa banlieue, et Rehob et sa banlieue: quatre villes;
Helkah with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbes: foure cities.
32 et de la Tribu de Nephthali, la ville de refuge pour l'homicide, Kédès en Galilée et sa banlieue, et Hammoth-Dor et sa banlieue, et Karthan et sa banlieue: trois villes.
And out of the tribe of Naphtali, the citie of refuge for the slaier, Kedesh in Galil with her suburbes, and Hammoth-dor with her suburbes, and Kartan with her suburbes: three cities.
33 Total des villes des Gersonites, en raison de leurs familles: treize villes avec leurs banlieues.
Al the cities of the Gershonites according to their families, were thirteene cities with their suburbes.
34 Et aux familles des fils de Merari, Lévites restants, de la Tribu de Zabulon, Jockneam et sa banlieue, Kartha et sa banlieue,
Also vnto the families of the children of Merari the rest of the Leuites, they gaue out of the tribe of Zebulun, Iokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbes,
35 Dimna et sa banlieue, Nahalal et sa banlieue: quatre villes;
Dimnah with her suburbes, Nahalal, with her suburbes: foure cities.
36 et de la Tribu de Ruben, Betser, et sa banlieue, et Jahtsah et sa banlieue,
And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Iahazah with her suburbs,
37 Kedémoth et sa banlieue, et Mephaath et sa banlieue: quatre villes;
Kedemoth with her suburbes, and Mephaath with her suburbes: foure cities.
38 et de la Tribu de Gad, la ville de refuge pour l'homicide, Ramoth en Galaad et sa banlieue,
And out of the tribe of Gad they gaue for a citie of refuge for the slaier, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbes, and Mahanaim with her suburbes,
39 et Mahanaïm et sa banlieue, Hesbon et sa banlieue, Jaëzer et sa banlieue; total des villes: quatre.
Heshbon with her suburbs, and Iazer with her suburbes: foure cities in all.
40 Total des villes des fils de Merari, selon leurs familles, du reste des familles des Lévites, lot qui leur échut: douze villes.
So all the cities of the children of Merari according to their families (which were the rest of the families of the Leuites) were by their lot, twelue cities.
41 Total des villes des Lévites enclavées dans la propriété des enfants d'Israël, quarante-huit villes avec leurs banlieues.
And all the cities of the Leuites within the possession of the children of Israel, were eight and fourtie with their suburbes.
42 Et ces villes avaient chacune sa banlieue qui l'entourait; ainsi en était-il de toutes ces villes-là.
These cities lay euery one seuerallie with their suburbes round about them: so were all these cities.
43 C'est ainsi que l'Éternel donna aux Israélites tout le pays qu'il avait juré de donner à leurs pères, et ils en prirent possession et s'y établirent.
So the Lord gaue vnto Israel all ye land, which hee had sworne to giue vnto their fathers: and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
44 Et l'Éternel leur donna repos de tous les côtés conformément à la totalité du serment qu'il avait fait à leurs pères. Et aucun de leurs ennemis ne tint devant eux; l'Éternel livra tous leurs ennemis entre leurs mains.
Also the Lord gaue them rest rounde about according to all that hee had sworne vnto their fathers: and there stoode not a man of all their enemies before them: for the Lord deliuered all their enemies into their hand.
45 Et de toutes les excellentes promesses que l'Éternel avait faites à la maison d'Israël, aucune ne tomba, tout s'accomplit.
There failed nothing of all the good things, which the Lord hath sayde vnto the house of Israel, but all came to passe.
