Jean 14
1 « Que votre cœur ne se trouble point: croyez en Dieu, croyez aussi en moi.
Let not your heart be troubled: all of you believe in God, believe also in me.
2 Dans la maison de mon Père il y a plusieurs demeures; sinon, vous dirais-je que je vais vous préparer une place?
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 Et si je vais et que je vous prépare une place, je reviendrai, et je vous prendrai auprès de moi, afin que là où je suis vous y soyez aussi;
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there all of you may be also.
4 et là où je vais, vous en savez le chemin. »
And where I go all of you know, and the way all of you know.
5 Thomas lui dit: « Seigneur, nous ne savons où tu vas, comment en savons-nous le chemin? »
Thomas says unto him, Lord, we know not where you go; and how can we know the way?
6 Jésus lui dit: « Je suis le chemin, et la vérité, et la vie; personne ne vient au Père que par moi;
Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
7 si vous m'aviez connu, vous auriez aussi connu mon Père; dès maintenant vous Le connaissez et vous L'avez vu. »
If all of you had known me, all of you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth all of you know him, and have seen him.
8 Philippe lui dit: « Seigneur, montre-nous le Père, et cela nous suffit. »
Philip says unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it satisfies us.
9 Jésus lui dit: « Depuis si longtemps je suis avec vous, et tu ne m'as pas connu, Philippe! Celui qui m'a vu a vu le Père; comment dis-tu: Montre-nous le Père?
Jesus says unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father?
10 Ne croiras-tu point que je suis dans le Père, et que le Père est en moi? Les paroles que je vous adresse, je ne les profère pas de mon chef; mais le Père qui demeure en moi fait Ses propres œuvres;
Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the (rhema) words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.
11 croyez-moi, quand je dis que je suis dans le Père et que le Père est en moi; sinon, croyez-moi à cause de Ses œuvres.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 En vérité, en vérité je vous le déclare, celui qui croit en moi, les œuvres que je fais, lui aussi les fera, et il en fera de plus grandes, parce que je m'en vais vers le Père;
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 et, quoi que ce soit qu'on demande en mon nom, je le ferai, afin que le Père soit glorifié dans le Fils;
And whatsoever all of you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 si vous me demandez quelque chose en mon nom, je le ferai.
If all of you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 Si vous m'aimez, vous garderez mes commandements,
If all of you love me, keep my commandments.
16 et moi je prierai le Père, et Il vous donnera un autre défenseur, pour être éternellement avec vous, (aiōn g165)
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (aiōn g165)
17 l'Esprit de vérité, que le monde ne peut recevoir, car il ne le voit point, ni ne le connaît point; pour vous, vous le connaissez, car il demeure près de vous, et il est en vous.
Even the Spirit (pneuma) of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but all of you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
18 Je ne vous laisserai point orphelins, je viens à vous;
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 encore un peu de temps, et le monde ne me voit plus, mais vous, vous me verrez, parce que je vis, et que vous aussi vous vivrez;
Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but all of you see me: because I live, all of you shall live also.
20 en ce jour-là vous connaîtrez que je suis en mon Père, et que vous êtes en moi, et que je suis en vous.
At that day all of you shall know that I am in my Father, and all of you in me, and I in you.
21 Celui qui possède mes commandements et qui les garde, c'est celui-là qui m'aime; celui qui m'aime sera aimé par mon Père, et moi aussi je l'aimerai et je me manifesterai moi-même à lui. »
He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas, non pas l'Iscariote, lui dit: « Seigneur, que s'est-il passé pour que tu doives te manifester à nous, et non pas au monde? »
Judas says unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jésus lui répliqua: « Si quelqu'un m'aime il gardera ma parole, et mon Père l'aimera, et nous viendrons vers lui et nous ferons un séjour chez lui;
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: (logos) and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 celui qui ne m'aime pas ne garde point mes paroles; et la parole que vous entendez n'est pas de moi, mais du Père qui m'a envoyé.
He that loves me not keeps not my sayings: (logos) and the word (logos) which all of you hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
25 Je vous ai dit ces choses pendant que je demeurais près de vous,
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 mais le défenseur, l'Esprit Saint qu'enverra le Père en mon nom, celui-là vous instruira de tout, et vous remettra en mémoire tout ce que je vous ai dit.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, (pneuma) whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Pour moi, je vous laisse la paix, je vous donne ma paix; ce n'est pas comme donne le monde, que je vous donne. Que votre cœur ne se trouble point et qu'il ne s'effarouche point.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Vous avez entendu que je vous ai dit: Je m'en vais, et, je viens à vous; si vous m'aimiez, vous vous réjouiriez de ce que je vais vers le Père, parce que le Père est plus grand que moi.
All of you have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If all of you loved me, all of you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 Et maintenant, je vous l'ai dit avant que cela ait eu lieu, afin que, lorsque cela aura eu lieu, vous croyiez.
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it has come to pass, all of you might believe.
30 Je ne parlerai plus de beaucoup de choses avec vous, car le chef du monde vient, et il ne me peut rien,
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in me.
31 mais, afin que le monde sache que j'aime le Père, et que j'agis conformément à l'ordre que le Père m'a donné, levez-vous, sortons d'ici. »
But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go behind.
