Joël 3
1 Car voici, dans ces jours et ces temps-là, alors je ramènerai les captifs de Juda et de Jérusalem,
For beholde, in those dayes and in that time, when I shall bring againe the captiuitie of Iudah and Ierusalem,
2 et je rassemblerai tous les peuples et les ferai descendre dans la vallée de Josaphat, et je leur ferai là leur procès au sujet d'Israël, mon peuple et mon héritage, qu'ils ont disséminé parmi les peuples;
I will also gather all nations, and wil bring them downe into the valley of Iehoshaphat, and will pleade with them there for my people, and for mine heritage Israel, whom they haue scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3 et ils se sont partagé mon pays et ont tiré mon peuple au sort, et ils ont donné l'enfant comme salaire à la prostituée, et vendu la jeune fille pour du vin, et ils l'ont bu.
And they haue cast lottes for my people, and haue giuen the childe for the harlot, and sold the girle for wine, that they might drinke.
4 Et vous aussi, que me voulez-vous, Tyr et Sidon, et tous les cantons de la Philistie? Voulez-vous user de représailles envers moi? Si vous usez de représailles envers moi, vite, aussitôt, je ferai retomber sur vous ce que vous m'aurez fait,
Yea, and what haue you to do with me, O Tyrus and Zidon and all the costes of Palestina? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompence mee, swiftly and speedily will I render your recompence vpon your head:
5 vous qui avez pris mon argent et mon or, et transporté dans vos temples mes joyaux précieux,
For ye haue taken my siluer and my golde, and haue caried into your temples my goodly and pleasant things.
6 et vendu aux Grecs les enfants de Juda et de Jérusalem pour les éloigner de leurs frontières.
The children also of Iudah and the children of Ierusalem haue you solde vnto the Grecians, that ye might send them farre from their border.
7 Voici, je les ferai se lever du lieu où vous les avez vendus, et je ferai retomber sur vos têtes ce que vous avez fait,
Beholde, I will rayse them out of the place where ye haue sold them, and will render your reward vpon your owne head,
8 et je vendrai vos fils et vos filles entre les mains des enfants de Juda, qui les vendront aux Sabéens, peuple reculé, car l'Éternel a prononcé.
And I will send your sonnes and your daughters into the hande of the children of Iudah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people farre off: for the Lord hath spoken it.
9 Publiez ceci parmi les peuples: Préparez la guerre! faites lever les héros! qu'ils approchent, qu'ils montent, tous les hommes de guerre!
Publish this among the Gentiles: prepare warre, wake vp the mightie men: let all the men of warre drawe neere and come vp.
10 Forgez vos faucilles en épées et vos serpes en javelots! que le débile dise: Je suis un héros!
Breake your plowshares into swords, and your sithes into speares: let the weake say, I am strong.
11 Hâtez-vous et venez, tous il les peuples d'alentour! et qu'ils s'assemblent!
Assemble your selues, and come all yee heathen and gather your selues together round about: there shall the Lord cast downe the mightie men.
12 Éternel, fais descendre là tes héros! que les peuples se lèvent et s'avancent dans la vallée de Josaphat! car là je siégerai pour juger tous les peuples d'alentour!
Let the heathen be wakened, and come vp to the valley of Iehoshaphat: for there will I sit to iudge all the heathen round about.
13 Mettez la faucille aux blés, car la moisson est mûre. Venez! foulez! car le pressoir est plein, les cuves regorgent; car grande fut leur méchanceté.
Put in your sithes, for the haruest is ripe: come, get you downe, for the winepresse is full: yea, the winepresses runne ouer, for their wickednesse is great.
14 Il y a foule, foule dans la vallée du jugement! car la journée de l'Éternel est proche dans la vallée du jugement.
O multitude, O multitude, come into the valley of threshing: for the day of the Lord is neere in the valley of threshing.
15 Le soleil et la lune s'obscurcissent, et les étoiles retirent leur éclat.
The sunne and moone shalbe darkened, and the starres shall withdrawe their light.
16 Et l'Éternel rugit de Sion, et de Jérusalem Il fait entendre sa voix, et les Cieux et la terre tremblent. Mais l'Éternel est un refuge pour son peuple et un boulevard pour les enfants d'Israël.
The Lord also shall roare out of Zion, and vtter his voyce from Ierusalem, and the heauens and the earth shall shake, but the Lord wil be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 Et vous reconnaîtrez que moi, l'Éternel, je suis votre Dieu habitant en Sion, ma sainte montagne; et Jérusalem sera un sanctuaire, et des étrangers n'y pénétreront plus.
So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, mine holy Mountaine: then shall Ierusalem bee holy, and there shall no strangers go thorowe her any more.
18 Et dans ce temps-là les montagnes ruisselleront de moût et les collines seront découlantes de lait, et tous les ruisseaux de Juda auront des eaux courantes, et une source sortira de la maison de l'Éternel, et abreuvera la vallée de Sittim.
And in that day shall the mountaines drop downe newe wine, and the hilles shall flowe with milke, and al the riuers of Iudah shall runne with waters, and a fountaine shall come forth of the House of the Lord, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
19 L'Egypte deviendra un désert, et Édom une terre désolée, à cause des violences faites aux enfants de Juda dans le pays desquels ils ont versé le sang innocent.
Egypt shalbe waste, and Edom shall be a desolate wildernesse, for the iniuries of the childre of Iudah, because they haue shed innocent blood in their land.
20 Mais Juda sera habité éternellement et Jérusalem dans tous les âges.
But Iudah shall dwell for euer, and Ierusalem from generation to generation.
21 Et je vengerai leur sang que je n'ai point encore vengé, et l'Éternel habitera en Sion.
For I will clense their blood, that I haue not clensed, and the Lord will dwell in Zion.
