Jérémie 23
1 Malheur aux pasteurs qui égarent et dispersent les brebis de mon pâturage, dit l'Éternel!
Wo to the scheepherdis, that scateren and to-drawen the floc of my lesewe, seith the Lord.
2 Aussi ainsi parle l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, touchant les pasteurs qui paissent mon peuple: Vous avez dispersé et disséminé mes brebis, et vous n'avez point veillé sur elles: voici, je vais punir sur vous la méchanceté de vos actions, dit l'Éternel.
Therfor the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis to the scheepherdis, that feeden my puple, Ye han scaterid my floc, and han cast hem out, and han not visitid hem; lo! Y schal visite on you the malice of youre studies, seith the Lord.
3 Et je rassemblerai les restes de mes brebis de tous les pays où je les aurai dispersées, et je les ramènerai dans leur pâturage, pour qu'elles y soient fécondes et s'y multiplient,
And Y schal gadere togidere the remenauntis of my floc fro alle londis, to whiche Y schal caste hem out thidur; and Y schal turne hem to her feeldis, and thei schulen encreesse, and schulen be multiplied.
4 et j'établirai sur elles des pasteurs qui les conduiront, de sorte qu'elles n'auront plus ni crainte, ni alarme, et qu'on ne devra plus les chercher, dit l'Éternel.
And Y schal reise schepherdis on hem, and thei schulen feede hem; thei schulen no more drede, and schulen not be aferd; and noon schal be souyt of the noumbre seith the Lord.
5 Voici, des jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, où je susciterai à David un juste rejeton; il régnera en roi, il sera sage, et fera droit et justice dans le pays.
Lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal reise a iust buriownyng to Dauid; and he schal regne a kyng, and he schal be wijs, and he schal make doom and riytfulnesse in erthe.
6 Pendant ses jours Juda prospérera, et Israël habitera en sécurité, et voici le nom dont on l'appellera: « L'Éternel notre justice. »
In tho daies Juda schal be sauid, and Israel schal dwelle tristili; and this is the name which thei schulen clepe hym, The Lord oure riytful.
7 C'est pourquoi, voici, des jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, dans lesquels on ne dira plus: « Vive l'Éternel qui tira les enfants d'Israël du pays d'Egypte, »
For this thing lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and thei schulen no more seie, The Lord lyueth, that ledde the sones of Israel out of the lond of Egipt;
8 mais: « Vive l'Éternel qui a tiré et ramené la race de la maison d'Israël de la région du Nord, et de tous les pays où Je les avais dispersés, » et ils habiteront dans leur pays.
but, The Lord lyueth, that ledde out, and brouyte the seed of the hous of Israel fro the lond of the north, and fro alle londis to whiche Y hadde cast hem out thidur; and thei schulen dwelle in her lond.
9 Sur les prophètes. Mon cœur se brise dans ma poitrine, tous mes os s'ébranlent. Je suis comme un homme enivré, et comme un homme vaincu par le vin, en face de l'Éternel et de ses paroles saintes.
To the prophetis; Myn herte is contrit in the myddis of me, alle my boonys trembliden togidere; Y am maad as a man drunkun, and as a man weet of wyn, of the face of the Lord, and of the face of the hooli wordis of hym;
10 Car le pays est plein d'adultères; car sous la malédiction le pays est en deuil, les pacages du désert sont desséchés, car leur allure est mauvaise, et leur force est iniquité.
for the lond is fillid with auowteris. For the erthe mourenede of the face of cursyng; the feeldis of desert ben maad drie, the cours of hem is maad yuel, and her strengthe is vnlijk.
11 Car et prophètes et sacrificateurs sont des profanes; jusque dans ma maison j'ai rencontré leur malice, dit l'Éternel.
For whi the profete and the prest ben defoulid; and in myn hous, seith the Lord, Y foond the yuel of hem.
12 Aussi leur chemin sera comme un sol glissant dans l'obscurité; ils broncheront et y tomberont; car j'amènerai sur eux des calamités au temps de leur châtiment, dit l'Éternel.
Therfor the weie of hem schal be as slidur in derknessis, for thei schulen be hurtlid, and schulen falle doun therynne; for Y schal bringe on hem yuels, the yeer of visitacioun of hem, seith the Lord.
13 Dans les prophètes de Samarie j'ai vu de la démence; ils ont prophétisé au nom de Baal, et égaré mon peuple d'Israël.
And in the profetis of Samarie Y siy fonnednesse, and thei profesieden in Baal, and disseyueden my puple Israel.
14 Mais dans les prophètes de Jérusalem j'ai vu des horreurs, l'adultère et le mensonge; et ils affermissent les méchants, qui ainsi ne reviennent pas de leur méchanceté; ils me sont tous comme Sodome, et ses habitants comme Gomorrhe.
And in the profetis of Jerusalem Y siy licnesse, auoutrie, and the weie of leesyng; and thei confortiden the hondis of the worste men, that ech man schulde not conuerte fro his malice; alle thei ben maad as Sodom to me, and alle the dwellers therof `ben maad as Gommorre.
15 C'est pourquoi, ainsi prononce l'Éternel des armées sur les prophètes: Voici, je les nourrirai d'absinthe, et les abreuverai d'eaux vénéneuses; car des prophètes de Jérusalem l'impiété s'est répandue sur tout le pays.
Therfor the Lord of oostis seith these thingis to the prophetis, Lo! Y schal feed hem with wermod, and Y schal yyue drynke to hem with galle; for whi defoulyng is goen out of the profetis of Jerusalem on al the lond.
16 Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: N'écoutez pas les propos des prophètes qui vous prophétisent! Ils vous engagent dans la vanité, ils disent les visions de leur cœur, et non ce qui émane de la bouche de l'Éternel.
The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Nyle ye here the wordis of profetis, that profesien to you, and disseyuen you; thei speken the visioun of her herte, not of the mouth of the Lord.
17 Ils répètent à mes contempteurs: L'Éternel a dit: Vous aurez la paix! Et à tous ceux qui suivent l'obstination de leur cœur, ils disent: Il ne vous arrivera aucun mal.
Thei seien to hem that blasfemen me, The Lord spak, Pees schal be to you; and thei seiden to ech man that goith in the schrewidnesse of his herte, Yuel schal not come on you.
18 Mais lequel assista au conseil de l'Éternel, et vit et entendit sa parole? qui a été attentif à ma parole et l'a écoutée?
For whi who is present in the councel of the Lord, and siy, and herde his word? who bihelde, and herde the word of hym?
19 Voici, la tempête de l'Éternel, la colère éclate, et la tempête est dardée, sur la tête des impies elle va fondre:
Lo! the whirlewynd of the Lordis indignacioun schal go out, and tempest brekynge schal come on the heed of wickid men.
20 le courroux de l'Éternel ne s'arrêtera point, qu'il n'ait fait et exécuté les pensées de son cœur. Dans la suite, des temps vous le sentirez.
The strong veniaunce of the Lord schal not turne ayen, til that he do, and til that he fille the thouyt of his herte. In the laste daies ye schulen vndurstonde the councel of hym.
21 Je n'envoyai point ces prophètes, et ils ont couru; je ne leur parlai point, et ils ont prophétisé.
Y sente not the profetis, and thei runnen; Y spak not to hem, and thei profesieden.
22 Mais, s'ils avaient assisté à mon conseil, ils feraient entendre mes paroles à mon peuple, et les retireraient de leur mauvaise voie et de la méchanceté de leurs actions.
If thei hadden stonde in my councel, and hadde maad knowun my wordis to my puple, forsothe Y hadde turned hem awei fro her yuel weie, and fro her worste thouytis.
23 Ne suis-je un Dieu que de près, dit l'Éternel, et ne suis-je plus Dieu de loin?
Gessist thou, whether Y am God of niy, seith the Lord, and not God afer?
24 Quand un homme se cacherait dans un lieu caché, ne le verrai-je point, dit l'Éternel? Est-ce que je ne remplis pas les Cieux et la terre, dit l'Éternel?
A man schal not be priuy in hid places, and Y schal not se hym, seith the Lord. Whether Y fille not heuene and erthe? seith the Lord.
25 J'entends ce que disent ces prophètes qui prophétisent en mon nom le mensonge, et disent: J'ai eu un songe! j'ai eu un songe! –
Y herde what thingis the profetis seiden, profesiynge a leesyng in my name, and seiynge, Y dremede dremes.
26 Combien de temps encore…? Ont-ils la pensée ces prophètes qui prophétisent le mensonge, et prophétisent les erreurs de leur cœur,
Hou longe is this thing in the herte of profetis, profesiynge a leesyng, and profesiynge the disseite of her herte?
27 ont-ils le projet de faire oublier mon nom à mon peuple, par ces songes qu'ils se racontent les uns aux autres, comme leurs pères ont oublié mon nom pour Baal?
Whiche wolen make, that my puple foryete my name for the dremes of hem, which ech man tellith to his neiybore, as the fadris of hem foryaten my name for Baal.
28 Que le prophète qui a eu des songes, raconte des songes! et que celui qui a mes paroles, rapporte mes paroles avec vérité. Pourquoi l'alliage du froment et de la paille? dit l'Éternel.
A profete that hath a dreme, telle a dreem; and he that hath my word, speke verili my word. What is with chaffis to the wheete? seith the Lord.
29 Ma parole n'est-elle pas comme un feu, dit l'Éternel, et comme un marteau qui brise le roc?
Whether my wordis ben not as fier brennynge, seith the Lord, and as an hamer al to-brekynge a stoon?
30 Aussi, voici, j'en veux, dit l'Éternel, aux prophètes qui se dérobent mes paroles l'un à l'autre.
Therfor lo! Y am redi to the profetis, seith the Lord, that stelen my wordis, ech man fro his neiybore.
31 Voici, j'en veux, dit l'Éternel, aux prophètes qui prennent le langage des prophètes, et disent: Oracle [de l'Éternel].
Lo! Y to the profetis, seith the Lord, that taken her tungis, and seien, The Lord seith.
32 Voici, j'en veux à ceux qui prophétisent des songes menteurs, dit l'Éternel, et les racontent, et égarent mon peuple par leurs mensonges et leurs forfanteries, sans avoir reçu de moi ni mission, ni ordre, et qui ne sont d'aucun profit pour ce peuple, dit l'Éternel.
Lo! Y to the profetis, dremynge a leesyng, seith the Lord; which telden tho, and disseyueden my puple in her leesyng, and in her myraclis, whanne Y hadde not sente hem, nether hadde comaundide to hem; whiche profitiden no thing to this puple, seith the Lord.
33 Que si ce peuple, ou un prophète, ou un sacrificateur t'interroge, disant: Quelle est la menace de l'Éternel? dis-leur quelle est cette menace: Je vous rejetterai, dit l'Éternel.
Therfor if this puple, ether profete, ether prest, axith thee, and seith, What is the birthun of the Lord? thou schalt seie to hem, Ye ben the birthun, for Y schal caste you awei, seith the Lord;
34 Et le prophète, et le sacrificateur, et tout homme du peuple qui dira: « Menace de l'Éternel, » je le châtierai, lui et sa maison.
and a profete, and a prest, and the puple, that seith, The birthun of the Lord, Y schal visite on that man, and on his hous.
35 Voici les termes dont vous vous servirez l'un envers l'autre, chacun envers son prochain: « Qu'a répondu l'Éternel? et qu'a dit l'Éternel? »
Ye schulen seie these thingis, ech man to his neiybore, and to his brother, What answeride the Lord? and what spak the Lord?
36 Mais « Menace de l'Éternel » c'est ce que vous ne prononcerez plus; car pour chacun sa parole deviendra une menace, parce que vous tordez les paroles du Dieu vivant, de l'Éternel des armées, notre Dieu.
For the birthun of the Lord schal no more be remembrid, and the word of ech man schal be birthun to hym; and ye han peruertid the wordis of lyuynge God, of the Lord of oostis, youre God.
37 Voici comment tu parleras au prophète: Que t'a répondu l'Éternel, et qu'a dit l'Éternel?
Thou schalt seie these thingis to the profete, What answeride the Lord to thee? and what spak the Lord?
38 Mais si vous dites: « Menace de l'Éternel, » alors ainsi parle l'Éternel: Parce que vous dites ce mot: « Menace de l'Éternel, » et que j'envoyai vers vous pour vous dire: Vous ne direz pas: « Menace de l'Éternel, »
Forsothe if ye seien, The birthin of the Lord, for this thing the Lord seith these thingis, For ye seiden this word, The birthun of the Lord, and Y sente to you, and Y seide, Nyle ye seie, The birthun of the Lord; therfor lo!
39 pour cela, voici, je vous oublierai, vous oublierai, et vous bannirai vous et cette ville que j'avais donnée à vous et à vos pères, loin de ma présence,
Y schal take you awei, and schal bere, and Y schal forsake you, and the citee which Y yaf to you, and to youre fadris, fro my face.
40 et je mettrai sur vous une honte éternelle, et un opprobre éternel, qui ne sera pas oublié.
And Y schal yyue you in to euerlastynge schenschipe, and in to euerlastynge sclaundir, that schal neuere be doon awei bi foryetyng.
