Isaïe 62
1 Pour l'amour de Sion je ne garde pas le silence, et pour l'amour de Jérusalem je ne me donne point de relâche, jusqu'à ce que sa justice paraisse comme l'aube, et son salut comme une torche allumée.
For Zion’s sake, will I not hold my peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake, will I not rest, —Until her righteousness, go forth as brightness, And her salvation, as a torch that is lighted.
2 Alors les nations contempleront ta justice, et tous les rois ta splendeur, et l'on t'appellera d'un nom nouveau fixé par la bouche de l'Éternel.
So shall nations see thy righteousness, And all kings, thy glory; And thou shalt be called by a new name, which, the mouth of Yahweh, will name.
3 Et tu seras une couronne éclatante dans la main de l'Éternel, et une mitre royale dans la main de ton Dieu.
Then shalt thou become—A crown of adorning, in the hand of Yahweh, and A royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4 On ne te dira plus délaissée, et ton pays ne sera plus appelé désert; mais on t'appellera « Mon plaisir est en elle, » et ta terre « une épouse. » Car l'Éternel trouve son plaisir en toi, et ta terre a un époux.
Thou shalt he termed no longer—Forsaken Nor shall thy land be termed any longer A desolation, But, thou, shalt be called Hephzibah ["My delight is in her"], And, thy land, Beulah ["married"], —For Yahweh hath found delight in thee, And thy land, shall be married.
5 Car de même qu'un jeune homme se marie à une vierge, tes fils se marieront à toi, et la joie que le fiancé reçoit de sa fiancée, ton Dieu la recevra de toi.
For a young man marrieth, a virgin, Thy sons marry thee! And the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride—Thy God, rejoiceth over thee.
6 Sur tes murs, Jérusalem, je place des gardes; de tout le jour et de toute la nuit ils ne garderont pas un instant le silence. « Vous qui rappelez le souvenir de l'Éternel, ne vous donnez point de relâche!
Upon thy walls O Jerusalem, have I appointed watchmen, All the day and all the night through, let them not hold their peace, —O ye that put Yahweh in mind, Do not take rest to yourselves,
7 Et ne lui donnez point de relâche qu'il n'ait fondé Jérusalem et ne l'ait rendue un objet de louanges sur la terre. »
Neither give rest, unto him, Until he establish and until he set forth Jerusalem as a praise in the earth!
8 L'Éternel l'a juré par sa droite et par son bras puissant: Je ne donnerai plus ton blé en nourriture à tes ennemis, et les enfants de l'étranger ne boiront plus ton moût gagné par ton labeur,
Sworn hath Yahweh—By his own right hand, and By his own strong arm, —Surely I will give thy corn no more, as food to thine enemies, Nor shall the sons of the foreigner drink thy new wine, for which thou hast toiled;
9 mais ceux qui le récolteront le mangeront et loueront l'Éternel, et ceux qui le cueilleront, le boiront dans mes saints parvis.
But they who have garnered it, shall eat it, and praise Yahweh, —And they who have gathered in its clusters, shall drink it in my holy courts.
10 Rendez-vous, rendez-vous aux portes; préparez le chemin au peuple! frayez, frayez la route, enlevez les pierres, dressez un étendard pour les peuples!
Pass ye through pass ye through the gates, Prepare ye the way of the people, —Cast ye up, cast ye up the highway, Clear it of stones, Lift ye high a standard unto the peoples.
11 Voici, l'Éternel fait aux extrémités de la terre cette proclamation: Dites à la fille de Sion: Voici, ton Sauveur arrive; voici, ses récompenses l'accompagnent et ses rétributions le précèdent.
Lo! Yahweh, hath sent a message unto the end of the earth: Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Lo! thy Salvation, is coming, —Lo! his reward, is with him, And, his recompense, before him:
12 Et on les appelle « peuple saint, rachetés de l'Éternel, » et toi, on t'appelle « cité cherchée, non délaissée. »
So shall men call them—The holy people The redeemed of Yahweh, —And, thou, shalt be called—Sought out, A city not forsaken,
