Isaïe 54
1 Réjouis-toi, stérile qui n'enfantais pas, éclate en acclamations et en cris de joie, toi qui ne devins point mère! Car les fils de la délaissée sont plus nombreux que les fils de celle qui était mariée, dit l'Éternel.
Thou bareyn, that childist not, herie; thou that childist not, synge heriyng, and make ioie; for whi many sones ben of the forsakun `womman more than of hir that hadde hosebonde, seith the Lord.
2 Agrandis l'espace de ta tente, et fais déployer les tentures de ta demeure! ne l'empêche pas! allonge tes cordes et affermis tes pieux!
Alarge thou the place of thi tente, and stretche forth the skynnes of thi tabernaclis; spare thou not, make longe thi roopis, and make sad thi nailis.
3 car tu t'étendras à droite et à gauche, et ta race dépossédera des peuples, et peuplera des villes désertes.
For thou schalt perse to the riytside and to the leftside; and thi seed schal enherite hethene men, and schal dwelle in forsakun citees.
4 Ne crains point! car tu ne seras point confondue; et n'aie point honte! car tu seras sans opprobre; car tu oublieras l'ignominie de ta jeunesse, et tu ne penseras plus à l'opprobre de ton veuvage!
Nile thou drede, for thou schal not be schent, nether thou schalt be aschamed. For it schal not schame thee; for thou schalt foryete the schenschipe of thi yongthe, and thou schalt no more thenke on the schenschipe of thi widewehod.
5 Car ton créateur est ton époux; l'Éternel des armées est son nom; et ton rédempteur, c'est le Saint d'Israël; Il s'appelle le Dieu de toute la terre.
For he that made thee, schal be lord of thee; the Lord of oostis is his name; and thin ayenbiere, the hooli of Israel, schal be clepid God of al erthe.
6 Car l'Éternel te rappelle comme une femme délaissée et qui a le chagrin dans le cœur, comme une épouse de la jeunesse, qui a été répudiée, dit ton Dieu.
For the Lord hath clepid thee as a womman forsakun and morenynge in spirit, and a wijf, `that is cast awei fro yongthe.
7 Un court instant je te délaissai, mais avec une grande affection je veux te reprendre.
Thi Lord God seide, At a poynt in litil tyme Y forsook thee, and Y schal gadere thee togidere in greete merciful doyngis.
8 Dans l'effusion de ma colère je te dérobai un instant ma face, mais par une grâce éternelle j'aurai pitié de toi, dit ton Rédempteur, l'Éternel.
In a moment of indignacioun Y hidde my face a litil fro thee, and in merci euerlastynge Y hadde merci on thee, seide thin ayenbiere, the Lord.
9 Car il en est de même pour moi que lors des eaux de Noé: de même que je jurai que les eaux de Noé n'envahiraient plus la terre, de même je jure de n'être plus courroucé contre toi, et de ne plus être menaçant pour toi.
As in the daies of Noe, this thing is to me, to whom Y swoor, that Y schulde no more bringe watris of the greet flood on the erthe; so Y swoor, that Y be no more wrooth to thee, and that Y blame not thee.
10 Que les montagnes se déplacent, et que les collines s'ébranlent, ma grâce ne te sera pas ôtée, et mon alliance de paix ne sera point ébranlée, dit l'Éternel qui a pitié de toi.
Forsothe hillis schulen be mouyd togidere, and litle hillis schulen tremble togidere; but my merci schal not go a wei fro thee, and the boond of my pees schal not be mouyd, seide the merciful doere, the Lord.
11 Malheureuse, battue de la tempête, toi que nul ne console! voici, je vais enchâsser tes pierres dans la galène, et te donner des fondements de saphir.
Thou litle and pore, drawun out bi tempest, with outen ony coumfort, lo! Y schal strewe thi stoonys bi ordre, and Y schal founde thee in safiris;
12 Je ferai tes créneaux de rubis et tes portes d'escarboucles, et toute ton enceinte de pierres précieuses.
and Y schal sette iaspis thi touris, and thi yatis in to grauun stoonys, and alle thin eendis in to desirable stoonys.
13 Et tous tes fils seront disciples de l'Éternel, et grand sera le bonheur de tes fils.
`Y schal make alle thi sones tauyt of the Lord; and the multitude of pees to thi sones,
14 Par la justice tu seras consolidée; ne donne pas accès à l'angoisse, car tu n'as rien à craindre; ni à la terreur, car elle ne t'approchera pas!
and thou schalt be foundid in riytfulnesse. Go thou awei fer fro fals caleng, for thou schalt not drede; and fro drede, for it schal not neiye to thee.
15 Si on se ligue contre toi, ce n'est pas de par moi; qui se liguera contre toi, passera dans tes rangs.
Lo! a straunger schal come, that was not with me; he, that was sum tyme thi comelyng, schal be ioyned to thee.
16 Voici, je crée le forgeron qui souffle le feu du brasier et produit une arme conforme à son plan, et je crée aussi le dévastateur pour détruire.
Lo! Y made a smyth blowynge coolis in fier, and bringynge forth a vessel in to his werk; and Y haue maad a sleere, for to leese.
17 Toute arme forgée contre toi sera sans effet, et toute langue qui s'élèvera contre toi pour contester, tu la condamneras. Tel est l'héritage des serviteurs de l'Éternel, et leur justice de par moi, dit l'Éternel.
Ech vessel which is maad ayens thee, schal not be dressid; and in the doom thou schalt deme ech tunge ayenstondynge thee. This is the eritage of the seruauntis of the Lord, and the riytfulnesse of hem at me, seith the Lord.
