Isaïe 45
1 Ainsi parle l'Éternel à son Oint, à Coresch,
Thus sayeth the Lord vnto Cyrus his anointed, whose right hand I haue holden to subdue nations before him: therefore will I weaken the loynes of Kings and open the doores before him, and the gates shall not be shut:
2 que je tiens par sa droite pour terrasser les nations devant lui, et afin que je déceigne les reins des rois; pour ouvrir devant lui les portes, et afin que les entrées ne lui soient pas fermées: Je veux marcher devant toi et aplanir les aspérités, briser les portes d'airain, et abattre les verrous de fer,
I will goe before thee and make the crooked streight: I will breake the brasen doores, and burst the yron barres.
3 et je te livrerai les trésors des lieux sombres, et ce qui est enfoui dans l'obscurité, afin que tu reconnaisses que je suis l'Éternel qui t'appelai par ton nom, le Dieu d'Israël.
And I will giue thee the treasures of darkenesse, and the things hid in secret places, that thou maist know that I am the Lord which call thee by thy name, euen the God of Israel.
4 Pour l'amour de mon serviteur Jacob et d'Israël mon élu, je t'appelai par ton nom, je te parlai avec bonté, et tu ne me connaissais pas!
For Iaakob my seruants sake, and Israel mine elect, I will euen call thee by thy name and name thee, though thou hast not knowen me.
5 Je suis l'Éternel, et il n'en est pas d'autre; hors moi il n'y a point de Dieu: je te ceignis moi-même et tu ne me connaissais pas!
I am the Lord and there is none other: there is no God besides me: I girded thee though thou hast not knowen me,
6 C'est afin que du Levant et du Couchant on reconnaisse que hors moi il n'y en a aucun: je suis l'Éternel, et il n'en est pas d'autre;
That they may knowe from the rising of the sunne and from the West, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none other.
7 celui qui produit la lumière et crée les ténèbres, qui fait le bonheur et crée le malheur; moi, l'Éternel, je suis l'auteur de tout cela.
I forme the light and create darkenes: I make peace and create euill: I the Lord doe all these things.
8 Cieux, distillez d'en haut, et que les nuées épanchent la grâce! que la terre s'ouvre et produise le salut, et fasse germer la justice en même temps! c'est moi, l'Éternel, qui crée ces choses.
Ye heauens, send the dewe from aboue, and let the cloudes droppe downe righteousnesse: let the earth open, and let saluation and iustice growe foorth: let it bring them foorth together: I the Lord haue created him.
9 Malheur à qui dispute contre son créateur, têt parmi des têts de terre! L'argile dit-elle à celui qui la façonne: « Que fais-tu » et ton œuvre dit-elle de toi: « Il n'a point de mains »?
Woe be vnto him that striueth with his maker, the potsherd with the potsherds of the earth: shall the clay say to him that facioneth it, What makest thou? or thy worke, It hath none hands?
10 Malheur à qui dit à son père: « Pourquoi engendres-tu? » et à la femme: « Pourquoi enfantes-tu? »
Woe vnto him that sayeth to his father, What hast thou begotten? or to his mother, What hast thou brought foorth?
11 Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Saint d'Israël, et son créateur: Sur l'avenir interrogez-moi! De mes enfants et de l'œuvre de mes mains remettez-moi le-soin!
Thus saith the Lord, the holy one of Israel, and his maker, Aske me of things to come concerning my sonnes, and concerning the workes of mine hands: commande you me.
12 C'est moi qui ai fait la terre, et sur elle ai créé des hommes. C'est par moi, par mes mains que furent étendus les Cieux, et j'ordonnai toute leur armée.
I haue made the earth, and created man vpon it: I, whose hands haue spred out the heauens, I haue euen commanded all their armie.
13 Je l'ai suscité dans ma justice, et j'aplanirai toutes ses voies; il relèvera ma cité et élargira mes captifs, non pas pour un prix ni pour une rançon, dit l'Éternel des armées.
I haue raised him vp in righteousnesse, and I will direct all his wayes: he shall build my citie, and he shall let goe my captiues, not for price nor rewarde, saith the Lord of hostes.
14 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Les gains de l'Égypte et les profits de l'Ethiopie, et les Sabéens, hommes de haute taille, passeront chez toi et seront tiens! ils marcheront à ta suite, et s'avanceront enchaînés, et ils s'inclineront devant toi et te diront en suppliant: « Dieu ne se trouve que chez toi; il n'y en a pas d'autre; hors lui point de Dieu! »
Thus sayth the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and the marchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of stature shall come vnto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall follow thee, and shall goe in chaines: they shall fall downe before thee, and make supplication vnto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee, and there is none other God besides.
15 Certainement tu es un Dieu qui te caches, Dieu d'Israël, qui sauves!
Verely thou, O God, hidest thy selfe, O God, the Sauiour of Israel.
16 Ils sont tous confus et honteux, ensemble ils s'en vont confondus, les fabricateurs d'idoles.
All they shalbe ashamed and also confounded: they shall goe to confusion together, that are the makers of images.
17 L'Éternel sauve Israël d'un salut éternel; vous n'aurez ni honte ni confusion dans tous les âges.
But Israel shall be saued in the Lord, with an euerlasting saluation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded worlde without ende.
18 Car ainsi parle l'Éternel, créateur des Cieux (Il est le Dieu formateur de la terre et son auteur, Il l'a consolidée; Il ne la créa pas pour rien, Il la forma pour être habitée): Je suis l'Éternel, et il n'en est pas d'autre.
For thus saith the Lord (that created heauen, God himselfe, that formed the earth, and made it: he that prepared it, he created it not in vaine: he formed it to be inhabited) I am the Lord, and there is none other.
19 Ce n'est pas en cachette que j'ai parlé, ni dans un lieu obscur de la terre! je ne dis pas à la race de Jacob: Cherchez-moi vainement! Moi, l'Éternel, je dis la vérité, et parle avec droiture.
I haue not spoken in secrete, neither in a place of darkenes in the earth: I saide not in vaine vnto the seede of Iaakob, Seeke you me: I the Lord doe speake righteousnesse, and declare righteous things.
20 Assemblez-vous et venez! approchez tous ensemble, réchappés des nations! Ils n'ont pas de sens ceux qui vont portant ce bois, leur idole, et prient un Dieu qui ne peut secourir.
Assemble your selues, and come: drawe neere together, ye abiect of the Gentiles: they haue no knowledge, that set vp the wood of their idole, and pray vnto a god, that cannot saue them.
21 Exposez et alléguez! et qu'ensemble ils se consultent! Qui est-ce qui annonça ces choses dès les temps anciens, en fit dès longtemps la prédiction? N'est-ce pas moi, l'Éternel? Et hors moi il n'est point de Dieu, de Dieu juste et sauveur il n'en est point d'autre que moi.
Tell ye and bring them, and let them take counsell together, who hath declared this from the beginning? or hath tolde it of olde? Haue not I the Lord? and there is none other God beside me, a iust God, and a Sauiour: there is none beside me.
22 Tournez-vous vers moi, et recevez le salut, vous toutes les extrémités de la terre! Car je suis Dieu et il n'en est pas d'autre.
Looke vnto me, and ye shall be saued: all the endes of the earth shall be saued: for I am God, and there is none other.
23 Je le jure par moi-même, et de ma bouche sort la vérité, une parole qui ne sera point retirée, c'est que tout genou fléchira devant moi, et toute langue me prêtera serment.
I haue sworne by my selfe: the worde is gone out of my mouth in righteousnesse, and shall not returne, That euery knee shall bowe vnto me, and euery tongue shall sweare by me.
24 Auprès de l'Éternel seul, me dira-t-on, se trouvent justice et puissance; à lui viendront en rougissant tous ceux qui s'irritaient contre lui.
Surely he shall say, In the Lord haue I righteousnesse and strength: he shall come vnto him, and all that prouoke him, shall be ashamed.
25 Toute la race d'Israël par l'Éternel sera justifiée, et mettra sa gloire en lui.
The whole seede of Israel shall be iustified, and glorie in the Lord.
