1 Et ce sont ici les ressortissants de la province qui revinrent de l'exil des déportés que Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babel, emmena captifs à Babel et qui rentrèrent à Jérusalem et en Juda, chacun dans sa ville,
And these are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and who came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his city,
2 et vinrent avec Zorobabel: Jésuah, Néhémie, Seraïa, Reélia, Mordechaï, Bilsan, Mispar, Bigvaï, Rehum, Baëna; nombre des hommes du peuple d'Israël:
who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Saraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

The children of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventy-two.
5 les fils d'Arach, sept cent soixante-quinze;
The children of Arah, seven hundred and seventy-five.
6 les fils de Pachath-Moab, des fils de Jésuah [et] de Joab, deux mille huit cent douze;
The children of Pahath-Moab, of the children of Jeshua [and] Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.
7 les fils d'Eilam, mille deux cent cinquante-quatre;
The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

The children of Solomon's servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,
56 les fils de Jaëla, les fils de Darcon, les fils de Giddel,
the children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
57 les fils de Sephatia, les fils de Hattil, les fils de Pochéreth-Hatsebaïm, les fils de Ami:
the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth-Hazzebaim, the children of Ami.
58 tous assujettis et fils des serviteurs de Salomon, trois cent quatre-vingt-douze.
All the Nethinim and the children of Solomon's servants, three hundred and ninety-two.
59 Et voici ceux qui partirent de Thel-Mélah, de Thel-Harsa, de Cherub-Addan, d'Immer, mais sans pouvoir indiquer leurs maisons patriarcales, ni leur race pour constater s'ils étaient d'Israël:
And these are they that went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub-Addan, Immer; but they could not shew their fathers' house, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.
60 les fils de Delaia, les fils de Tobie, les fils de Necoda, six cent cinquante-deux;
The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobijah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.
61 et des fils des Prêtres: les fils de Habaïa, les fils de Haccots, les fils de Barzillaï qui avait épousé une des filles de Barzillaï de Galaad, et fut appelé de son nom.
And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
62 Ceux-là cherchèrent leur généalogie, mais elle ne fut pas retrouvée et ils furent forclos du Sacerdoce.
These sought their genealogical register, but they were not found; therefore were they, as polluted, removed from the priesthood.
63 Et le Gouverneur leur dit qu'ils n'eussent pas à manger des choses sacro-saintes jusqu'à l'avènement d'un Prêtre pour consulter l'Urim et le Thummim.
And the Tirshatha said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.
64 Toute l'Assemblée était en somme de quarante-deux mille trois cent soixante,
The whole congregation together was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
65 non compris leurs serviteurs et leurs servantes, dont il y avait sept mille trois cent trente-sept; ils avaient deux cents chantres et chanteuses.
besides their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred singing men and singing women.
66 Le nombre de leurs chevaux était de sept cent trente-six, et celui de leurs mulets de deux cent quarante-cinq;
Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six; their mules two hundred and forty-five;
67 celui de leurs chameaux de quatre cent trente-cinq, de leurs ânes, six mille sept cent vingt.
their camels four hundred and thirty-five; the asses six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 Et plusieurs des chefs des maisons patriarcales, lorsqu'ils arrivèrent pour la maison de l'Éternel à Jérusalem, firent des dons spontanés pour la maison de Dieu, à l'effet de la relever sur son emplacement;
And some of the chief fathers, when they came to the house of Jehovah which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in its place.
69 et ils donnèrent à proportion de leurs moyens au trésor de l'entreprise, en or soixante-un mille dariques et en argent cinq mille mines, et cent habillements sacerdotaux.
They gave after their ability to the treasure of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests' coats.
70 Et ainsi les Prêtres et les Lévites et ceux du peuple et les chantres et les portiers et les assujettis se logèrent dans leurs villes, et tout Israël dans ses villes.
And the priests, and the Levites, and [some] of the people, and the singers, and the doorkeepers, and the Nethinim dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
