Ézéchiel 6
1 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Fils de l'homme, tourne tes regards vers les montagnes d'Israël, et prophétise contre elles
Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy unto them,
3 et dis: Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur, de l'Éternel. Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel, aux montagnes et aux collines, aux vallées et aux vallons: Voici, je fais venir contre vous l'épée, et je détruirai vos hauts lieux,
and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
4 et vos autels seront dévastés, et vos statues du soleil brisées, et je ferai tomber vos hommes tués devant vos idoles,
your altars shall become desolate, and your sun-images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
5 et je placerai les cadavres des enfants d'Israël devant leurs idoles, et je répandrai vos ossements autour de vos autels.
And I will lay the carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6 Dans tous vos établissements les villes seront désolées, et les hauteurs dévastées, afin que vos autels soient désolés et dévastés, et que vos idoles soient brisées et anéanties, et que vos statues du soleil soient mutilées, et que tous vos ouvrages soient détruits.
In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your sun-images may be hewn down, and your works may be abolished.
7 Et les hommes tués tomberont parmi vous, et vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel.
And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
8 Mais j'en laisserai un reste, puisqu'il en est d'entre vous qui échapperont à l'épée parmi les nations, quand vous serez dispersés dans leurs pays.
Yet will I leave a remnant, in that ye shall have some that escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
9 Et les vôtres qui échapperont, se souviendront de moi parmi les nations où ils seront menés captifs, quand j'aurai brisé leur cœur adultère qui s'était détaché de moi, et leurs yeux adultères qui suivaient leurs idoles, et quand ils auront eux-mêmes en dégoût les crimes qu'ils commirent par toutes leurs abominations.
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, how that I have been broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
10 Alors ils reconnaîtront que je suis l'Éternel: ce n'est pas vainement que j'ai parlé de leur faire tous ces maux.
And they shall know that I am the LORD: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
11 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Bats des mains et frappe du pied, et dis un hélas! sur toutes les méchantes abominations de la maison d'Israël, car par l'épée, la famine et la peste ils tomberont.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas! because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel: for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
12 Éloigné, par la peste on mourra; et rapproché, sous l'épée on tombera; laissé de reste et conservé, de la famine on mourra;
He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
13 ainsi assouvirai-je ma colère sur eux. Alors vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l'Éternel, quand leurs blessés seront gisants au milieu de leurs idoles, autour de leurs autels, sur toute colline élevée, sur tous les sommets des montagnes, et sous tous les arbres verts, et sous tous les chênes touffus, lieux où ils ont offert de doux parfums à toutes leurs idoles.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
14 Et j'étendrai ma main contre eux, et ferai du pays un ravage et une désolation, plus grande que le désert de Dibla, dans tous les lieux où ils habitent. Alors ils reconnaîtront que je suis l'Éternel.
And I will stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate and waste, from the wilderness toward Diblah, throughout all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
