Ézéchiel 28
1 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
2 Fils de l'homme, dis au prince de Tyr: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que ton cœur s'élève et que tu dis: « Je suis un Dieu, sur le trône d'un Dieu je suis assis au sein des mers! » tandis que tu es un homme et non pas un Dieu, quoique dans ton cœur tu te croies un Dieu;
Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god, I sit [in] the seat of God, in the heart of the seas, (and thou art a man, and not God, ) and thou settest thy heart as the heart of God:
3 – voici, tu es plus sage que Daniel, aucun mystère n'a rien de caché pour toi;
behold, thou art wiser than Daniel! nothing secret is obscure for thee;
4 par ta sagesse et ton intelligence tu t'es créé des richesses, et tu as fait entrer dans tes trésors de l'or et de l'argent,
by thy wisdom and by thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures;
5 par ta grande sagesse et ton trafic tu as accru ton opulence, et ton cœur s'enorgueillit de ton opulence;
by thy great wisdom thou hast by thy traffic increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches.
6 – pour cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que dans ton cœur tu te crois un Dieu, pour cela,
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God,
7 voici, je vais amener contre toi des étrangers, les plus violents des peuples: ils tireront l'épée contre la magnificence de ta sagesse, et ils profaneront ta beauté;
therefore behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall tarnish thy brightness.
8 ils te précipiteront dans la fosse, afin que tu meures de la mort des blessés, au sein de la mer.
They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of those that are slain in the heart of the seas.
9 Diras-tu bien: « Je suis un Dieu! » en face de ton meurtrier, quand tu es un homme et non pas un Dieu sous la main de celui qui te perce?
Wilt thou then say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and not God, in the hand of him that pierceth thee.
10 Tu mourras de la mort des incirconcis par la main d'étrangers, car c'est moi qui prononce ainsi, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised, by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken [it], saith the Lord Jehovah.
11 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
12 Fils de l'homme, élève une complainte sur le roi de Tyr, et dis-lui: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Tu avais mis le sceau à ta perfection, tu étais plein de sagesse et d'une beauté accomplie:
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, who sealest up the measure of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty,
13 tu habitais en Éden dans le jardin de Dieu; toutes les pierres précieuses te couvraient, le rubis, la topaze et le diamant, le chrysolithe, l'onyx et le jaspe, le saphir, l'escarboucle et l'émeraude, et l'or. Le service de tes cymbales et de tes flûtes était préparé pour toi dès le jour de ta naissance.
thou wast in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the chrysolite, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the carbuncle, and the emerald, and gold. The workmanship of thy tambours and of thy pipes was in thee: in the day that thou wast created were they prepared.
14 Tu étais un Chérubin protecteur, aux ailes déployées; ainsi je t'établis, tu étais sur une sainte montagne de Dieu; tu marchais au milieu des pierres étincelantes.
Thou wast the anointed covering cherub, and I had set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou didst walk up and down in the midst of stones of fire.
15 Tu suivais ta voie sain et sauf dès le jour de ta naissance, jusqu'à ce que ton crime ait été surpris en toi.
Thou wast perfect in thy ways, from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.
16 Par la grandeur de ton trafic, ton sein se remplit d'iniquité, et tu devins criminel; aussi je te repousse loin de la montagne de Dieu, et t'arrache, pour te perdre, Chérubin protecteur, à ces pierres étincelantes.
By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned; therefore have I cast thee as profane from the mountain of God, and have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Ton cœur s'enorgueillissait de ta beauté. Tu as corrompu toute ta sagesse pour l'amour de ta beauté: je te précipite sur la terre, et aux rois je t'offre en spectacle.
Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Par le nombre de tes crimes, par l'iniquité de ton trafic, tu as profané tes sanctuaires: aussi ferai-je sortir de ton sein un feu qui te consumera, et je te réduirai en cendres par terre sous les yeux de tous tes spectateurs.
By the multitude of thine iniquities, by the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries: and I have brought forth a fire out of the midst of thee — it hath consumed thee; and I have brought thee to ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 Tous ceux qui parmi les peuples te connaissent, te contempleront avec stupeur; tu seras un terrible exemple de ruine et c'en est fait de toi à jamais.
All they that know thee among the peoples shall be amazed at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more.
20 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
21 Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage du côté de Sidon, et prophétise contre elle
Son of man, set thy face towards Zidon, and prophesy against it,
22 et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, j'en veux à toi, Sidon, et je veux être glorifié au milieu de toi, afin qu'ils sachent que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'exercerai sur elle mes jugements, et que j'aurai montré sur elle que je suis saint.
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Zidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be hallowed in her.
23 J'envoie la peste en elle, et l'effusion du sang dans ses rues, et des morts périssent dans son sein par l'épée de toutes parts tirée contre elle; et ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel.
And I will send into her the pestilence, and blood in her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, by the sword upon her on every side: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
24 Alors il n'y aura plus pour la maison d'Israël d'épine piquante, ni de ronce déchirante, d'entre tous ses alentours qui la méprisent, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
And there shall be no more a wounding sting for the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn, among all that were round about them, that despised them: and they shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.
25 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Quand je rassemblerai la maison d'Israël du milieu des peuples où elle est dispersée, alors je donnerai en eux une preuve de ma sainteté sous les yeux des peuples,
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be hallowed in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land which I have given to my servant Jacob.
26 et ils habiteront leur pays que j'ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob, et ils y habiteront en sécurité, et bâtiront des maisons et planteront des vignes, et habiteront en sécurité, quand j'exécuterai mes jugements sur tous leurs alentours qui les méprisaient, et ils reconnaîtront que je suis l'Éternel, leur Dieu.
They shall dwell in it in safety, and shall build houses and plant vineyards; and they shall dwell in safety, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despised them round about them: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah their God.
