Ézéchiel 23
1 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
The word of Yhwh came again unto me, saying,
2 Fils de l'homme, il y avait deux femmes, filles d'une même mère.
Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3 Et elles furent impudiques en Egypte, dans leur jeunesse elles furent impudiques; là leurs mamelles furent pressées, et là on porta la main à leur sein virginal.
And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
4 Or voici leurs noms: Ohola c'est l'aînée, et Oholiba sa sœur. Et elles furent unies à moi, et elles enfantèrent des fils et des filles. Or voici leurs noms: Samarie est Ohola, et Jérusalem Oholiba.
And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
5 Et Ohola me désertant fut impudique, et s'éprit de ses amants, des Assyriens, ses voisins,
And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,
6 revêtus de pourpre violette, gouverneurs et satrapes, tous beaux jeunes hommes, cavaliers, montés sur des coursiers.
Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.
7 Et elle leur prostitua son amour adultère, à toute l'élite des enfants de l'Assyrie, et elle se souilla avec tous ceux dont elle s'éprit, avec toutes leurs idoles.
Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.
8 Cependant elle ne renonça point à ses impudicités avec l'Egypte; car ils avaient habité avec elle dans sa jeunesse, et porté la main à son sein virginal, et s'étaient livrés à des débordements d'impudicité avec elle.
Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.
9 Aussi l'ai-je livrée aux mains de ses amants, aux mains des enfants de l'Assyrie dont elle était éprise.
Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.
10 Ils découvrirent sa nudité, enlevèrent ses fils et ses filles et la firent périr elle-même par l'épée; et elle devint la fable des femmes, quand ils eurent exécuté sur elle les jugements.
These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
11 C'est ce dont fut témoin Oholiba sa sœur; mais elle fut pire qu'elle dans ses débordements, et son impudicité fut pire que l'impudicité de sa sœur.
And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
12 Elle s'éprit des enfants de l'Assyrie, gouverneurs et. satrapes, ses voisins, vêtus magnifiquement, cavaliers, montés sur des coursiers, tous beaux jeunes hommes.
She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
13 Et je vis qu'elle se souillait; elles suivaient l'une et l'autre la même voie.
Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,
14 Mais elle ajouta encore à son impudicité, et à la vue d'hommes dessinés sur la muraille, images des Chaldéens, dessinés au vermillon,
And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,
15 portant une ceinture autour de leurs reins, sur leurs têtes des tiares tombantes, tous ayant l'air des guerriers montés sur les chars, pareils aux enfants de Babel, de la Chaldée, leur pays natal,
Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:
16 elle s'éprit d'eux au premier coup d'œil, et leur envoya des messagers en Chaldée.
And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.
17 Et les enfants de Babel vinrent partager avec elle le lit des amours, et la souillèrent par leur impudicité, et elle se souilla avec eux, puis son cœur se détacha d'eux.
And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.
18 Et quand elle montra son impudicité, et montra sa nudité, alors mon cœur se détacha d'elle, comme mon cœur s'était détaché de sa sœur.
So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister.
19 Cependant elle ajouta encore à son impudicité, en se reportant aux jours de sa jeunesse, quand elle avait été impudique au pays d'Égypte,
Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
20 et elle s'éprit de ses concubinaires qui avaient des membres comme des ânes, et étaient lascifs comme des étalons.
For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
21 Tu regrettas ta jeunesse criminelle, quand des Égyptiens pressaient tes mamelles, à cause de ton sein virginal.
Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.
22 Aussi, Oholiba, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je vais exciter contre toi tes amants, dont tu t'es détachée, et je les amènerai contre toi de toutes parts:
Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
23 les enfants de Babel et tous les Chaldéens, chefs, riches et Grands, tous les enfants de l'Assyrie avec eux, beaux jeunes hommes, tous gouverneurs et satrapes, combattant sur des chars, hommes d'élite, montés sur des coursiers.
The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
24 Et ils s'avancent contre toi avec des armes, des chars et des roues, et des troupes nombreuses; et avec le pavois, le bouclier et le casque ils se portent sur toi de toutes parts; et je leur remets le jugement, afin qu'ils te jugent selon leurs lois;
And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
25 et je donne cours à mon indignation contre toi, afin qu'ils te traitent avec fureur; ils te couperont le nez et les oreilles, et ta postérité périra par l'épée: ils enlèveront tes fils et tes filles, et ta postérité sera dévorée par le feu;
And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26 et ils te dépouilleront de tes habits et prendront tes superbes atours.
They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.
27 Et ainsi je mettrai fin à ton crime et à ton impudicité d'Egypte, pour que tu ne lèves plus les yeux vers eux, et que tu ne portes plus tes pensées vers l'Egypte.
Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je vais te livrer aux mains de ceux que tu hais, aux mains de ceux de qui ton cœur s'est détaché;
For thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
29 et ils te traiteront avec haine, et prendront tous tes gains, et te laisseront nue et découverte, afin de mettre à découvert ta nudité que tu as prostituée, et ton crime, et ton impudicité.
And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
30 Je te ferai ces choses parce que tu es allée te prostituant après les nations, et parce que tu t'es souillée de leurs idoles.
I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.
31 Tu as suivi le même chemin que ta sœur, aussi mettrai-je sa coupe en ta main.
Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.
32 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Tu boiras la coupe de ta sœur, coupe profonde et large; elle excitera contre toi la risée et la moquerie; grande est sa capacité.
Thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.
33 Tu seras chargée d'ivresse et de chagrin; c'est une coupe de stupeur et d'effroi que la coupe de ta sœur Samarie.
Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.
34 Et tu la boiras, la videras, tu en lécheras les têts, dont tu te déchireras les mamelles; car je l'ai prononcé, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Yhwh.
35 Aussi, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que tu m'as oublié, et que tu m'as jeté derrière toi, toi aussi subis les suites de ton crime et de ton impudicité.
Therefore thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
36 Et l'Éternel me dit: Fils de l'homme, jugeras-tu Ohola et Oholiba? et montre-leur leurs abominations:
Yhwh said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;
37 qu'elles furent adultères, qu'il y a du sang à leurs mains, et qu'elles ont commis adultère avec leurs idoles, et que même leurs enfants qu'elles avaient enfantés pour moi, elles les leur ont consacrés comme nourriture.
That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.
38 Voici ce qu'elles m'ont encore fait: elles ont souillé mon sanctuaire en ce jour-là, et profané mes sabbats.
Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.
39 Car après avoir immolé leurs enfants à leurs idoles, elles sont venues dans mon sanctuaire ce jour-là pour le profaner, et voici, cela, elles l'ont fait au sein de ma maison.
For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.
40 Bien plus, elles envoyèrent chercher des hommes qui devaient venir de loin, et auxquels des messagers furent expédiés, et voici, ils vinrent: pour eux tu te baignas, peignis tes yeux, et te paras-de tes parures;
And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,
41 et tu te plaças sur un lit magnifique: au devant était dressée une table sur laquelle tu mis mon encens et mon huile;
And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.
42 et de ce lieu on entendait sortir les cris joyeux d'une multitude en sécurité; et outre les hommes de la multitude on avait fait venir des buveurs du désert, qui leur mirent des bracelets aux mains et de superbes diadèmes sur la tête.
And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
43 Alors je dis de celle qu'ont usée les adultères: Maintenant aura-t-on commerce avec elle? avec elle!
Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?
44 Et l'on vint à elle, comme on vient à une prostituée; c'est ainsi qu'on vint à Ohola et à Oholiba, femmes criminelles.
Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.
45 Mais des hommes justes les jugeront selon la loi des adultères, et selon la loi des meurtriers; car elles sont adultères, et ont du sang à leurs mains.
And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Je vais faire avancer contre elles un rassemblement, et les livrer aux tourments et au pillage;
For thus saith the Lord Yhwh; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
47 et elles seront lapidées par eux, et taillées en pièces par leurs épées, leurs fils et leurs filles seront égorgés, et leurs maisons brûlées au feu.
And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48 Ainsi mettrai-je fin au crime dans le pays, afin que toutes les femmes en reçoivent instruction, et ne deviennent pas criminelles comme elles.
Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.
49 Et ils feront retomber leur crime sur vous, et vous subirez le, péché de votre idolâtrie, afin que vous sachiez que je suis le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord Yhwh.
