Ézéchiel 11
1 Puis l'Esprit me souleva, et m'amena à la porte antérieure de la maison de l'Éternel, qui donne à l'orient, et voici, à l'entrée de la porte il y avait vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis parmi eux Jaasénia, fils de Hazzur, et Platéia, fils de Bénaïa, princes du peuple.
MOREOVER the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the Lord’s house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.
2 Et Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, ce sont là les hommes qui méditent le crime, et conseillent le mal dans cette ville;
Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:
3 ils disent: Ce n'est pas le moment de bâtir des maisons; cette [ville] est la chaudière et nous sommes les viandes.
Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.
4 C'est pourquoi prophétise contre eux, prophétise, fils de l'homme!
Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.
5 Et l'Esprit de l'Éternel tomba sur moi, et me dit: Dis: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: C'est ainsi que vous parlez, maison d'Israël! et ce que vous avez dans l'esprit, je le sais.
And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.
6 Vous avez multiplié les meurtres dans cette ville et rempli ses rues de morts.
Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.
7 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Vos morts que vous avez étendus au milieu d'elle, ce sont les viandes et elle est la chaudière; mais vous, on vous en fera sortir.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.
8 Vous craignez l'épée, et c'est l'épée que je ferai venir sur vous, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord God.
9 Et je vous ferai sortir du milieu d'elle, et vous livrerai aux mains des étrangers, et j'exécuterai sur vous mes jugements.
And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
10 Sous l'épée vous tomberez, à la frontière d'Israël je vous jugerai, afin que vous reconnaissiez que je suis l'Éternel.
Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
11 Elle ne sera pas pour vous une chaudière, et vous n'y serez pas comme des viandes; c'est à la frontière d'Israël que je vous jugerai.
This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel:
12 Et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l'Éternel, dont vous n'avez point suivi les décrets, ni pratiqué les lois; mais vous avez suivi les lois des peuples de vos alentours.
And ye shall know that I am the Lord: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.
13 Et comme je prophétisais, Platéia, fils de Bénaïa, mourut; et je tombai sur ma face, et je m'écriai à haute voix et dis: Ah! Seigneur Éternel, veux-tu faire extermination du reste d'Israël?
And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord God! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?
14 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
15 Fils de l'homme, ce sont tes frères, tes frères, les gens de ta parenté, c'est la maison d'Israël tout entière à qui les habitants de Jérusalem disent: Demeurez loin de l'Éternel, c'est à nous que le pays a été donné en propriété.
Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the Lord: unto us is this land given in possession.
16 Dis donc: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Quand même je les tiens éloignés parmi les nations, et quand même je les ai dispersés dans les pays divers, je veux être pour eux un saint asile, pendant quelque temps, dans les pays où ils sont venus.
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.
17 Dis donc: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Je vous recueillerai du milieu des peuples, et vous réunirai en vous tirant des pays où vous êtes épars, et je vous donnerai le pays d'Israël.
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
18 Et ils y viendront et en ôteront toutes ses infamies et toutes ses abominations.
And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.
19 Et je leur donnerai un seul et même cœur, et je mettrai en eux un esprit nouveau, et j'ôterai de leur corps leur cœur de pierre, et leur donnerai un cœur de chair,
And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
20 afin qu'ils suivent mes ordonnances et qu'ils observent et pratiquent mes lois; et ils seront mon peuple, et moi je serai leur Dieu.
That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
21 Pour ceux dont le cœur marche au gré de leurs infamies et de leurs abominations, je ferai retomber leur conduite sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God.
22 Et les Chérubins soulevèrent leurs ailes, et les roues cheminaient à côté d'eux, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était en haut au-dessus d'eux.
Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
23 Et la gloire de l'Éternel s'éleva du milieu de la ville, et vint s'arrêter sur la montagne qui est à l'orient de la ville.
And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
24 Puis l'Esprit m'enleva et me ramena en Chaldée auprès des captifs, en vision par l'Esprit de Dieu. Et la vision que j'avais eue, s'évanouit,
Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
25 et je redis aux captifs toutes les paroles de l'Éternel qu'Il m'avait révélées.
Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the Lord had shewed me.
