Deutéronome 30

1 Mais quand s'accompliront pour toi toutes ces paroles, la bénédiction et la malédiction que je mets devant toi, et que tu les rappelleras dans ton cœur au milieu de toutes les nations chez lesquelles l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'aura banni,

And it shall come to pass, when all these things have come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call [them] to mind among all the nations whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

2 et que tu reviendras à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et obéiras à sa voix en tout ce que je te prescris aujourd'hui, toi et tes fils, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme,

And shalt return to the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul;

3 alors l'Éternel, ton Dieu, ramènera tes captifs et prendra pitié de toi, et de nouveau vous recueillera du milieu de tous les peuples, où l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'aura disséminé.

That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

4 Quand tes exilés seraient à l'extrémité de l'horizon, de là l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te recueillera, et de là Il te retirera.

If [any] of thine shall be driven out to the outmost [parts] of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he bring thee:

5 Et l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te ramènera dans le pays possédé par tes pères et possédé par toi, et Il te fera du bien et te rendra plus nombreux que tes pères.

And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it: and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

6 Et l'Éternel, ton Dieu, circoncira ton cœur, et le cœur de ta race pour que tu aimes l'Éternel, ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme, afin que tu vives.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7 Et l'Éternel, ton Dieu, rejettera toutes ces malédictions sur tes ennemis et sur les adversaires qui te persécutent.

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thy enemies, and on them that hate thee, who persecuted thee.

8 De ton côté tu reviendras à obéir à la voix de l'Éternel, et à pratiquer tous ses commandements que je te prescris en ce jour.

And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9 Et l'Éternel, ton Dieu, accompagnera de l'abondance tout le travail de tes mains, la fécondité de tes flancs, la fécondité de ton bétail et la fécondité de ton sol, pour te faire prospérer, car l'Éternel retrouvera sa joie dans ton bonheur, comme Il trouvait sa joie dans celui de tes pères;

And the LORD thy God will make thee to abound in every work of thy hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

10 pourvu que tu obéisses à la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, en gardant ses commandements et ses statuts consignés dans ce livre de la Loi; pourvu que tu reviennes à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme.

If thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, [and] if thou shalt turn to the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

11 Car ce commandement que je te prescris en ce jour, ne passe point ta portée, et n'est pas à grande distance;

For this commandment which I command thee this day, it [is] not hid from thee, neither [is] it far off.

12 il n'est pas au ciel pour que tu dises: Qui montera pour nous au ciel et nous l'en rapportera, et nous l'exposera pour que nous l'accomplissions?

It [is] not in heaven, that thou shouldst say, Who shall ascend for us to heaven, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13 Il n'est pas au delà de la mer, pour que tu dises: Qui traversera pour nous la mer et nous l'en rapportera, et nous l'exposera pour que nous l'accomplissions?

Neither [is] it beyond the sea, that thou shouldst say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14 Mais cette parole est tout près de toi, dans ta bouche et dans ton cœur pour que tu l'accomplisses.

But the word [is] very nigh to thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15 Vois! j'ai mis aujourd'hui devant toi la vie et le bien, la mort et le mal,

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 en te prescrivant aujourd'hui d'aimer l'Éternel, ton Dieu, de marcher dans ses voies et de garder ses commandements et ses statuts et ses lois, afin que tu vives et t'accroisses et que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans le pays dont tu viens faire la conquête.

In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 Mais si ton cœur se détourne et si tu désobéis, et si tu te laisses aller à adorer d'autres dieux et à les servir,

But if thy heart shall turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 je vous déclare aujourd'hui que vous êtes perdus; vous n'aurez pas de longs jours dans le pays dont après le passage du Jourdain tu viens faire la conquête.

I denounce to you this day, that ye shall surely perish, [and that] ye shall not prolong [your] days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19 J'en prends aujourd'hui à témoin contre vous les Cieux et la terre: j'ai mis devant toi la vie et la mort, la bénédiction et la malédiction; choisis donc la vie afin que tu vives, toi et ta race,

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 en aimant l'Éternel, ton Dieu, en obéissant à sa voix, en t'attachant à lui (car Il est ta vie et prolongera tes jours), en demeurant dans le pays que l'Éternel a juré à tes pères, à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, de leur donner.

That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave to him (for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days) that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD swore to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
