Deutéronome 23
1 Aucun individu mutilé par compression ou par amputation de l'urètre ne sera admis dans l'Assemblée de l'Éternel.
He that is fractured or mutilated in his private parts shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord.
2 Aucun bâtard ne sera admis dans l'Assemblée de l'Éternel; même sa dixième génération ne sera pas admise dans l'Assemblée de l'Éternel.
[One born] of a harlot shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord.
3 Ne seront pas admis non plus les Ammonites et les Moabites dans l'Assemblée de l'Éternel; même leur dixième génération ne sera pas admise dans l'Assemblée de l'Éternel, jamais;
The Ammanite and Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord, even until the tenth generation he shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord, even for ever:
4 parce qu'ils ne vous ont pas présenté le pain et l'eau pendant le trajet, lors de votre sortie de l'Egypte, et parce qu'ils ont soudoyé pour te nuire, Balaam, fils de Behor, de Pethor en Mésopotamie, pour te maudire.
because they met you not with bread and water by the way, when you went out of Egypt; and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor of Mesopotamia to curse you.
5 Mais l'Éternel, ton Dieu, n'a pas voulu écouter Balaam, et l'Éternel, ton Dieu, a changé sa malédiction en bénédiction, parce que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'aimait.
But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; and the Lord your God changed the curses into blessings, because the Lord your God loved you.
6 Tu ne t'intéresseras en aucun temps à leur prospérité et à leur bien-être, jamais. Tu n'abomineras pas l'Edomite, car il est ton frère.
You shall not speak peaceably or profitably to them all your days for ever.
7 Tu n'abomineras pas l'Égyptien, car tu fus son hôte dans son pays.
You shall not abhor an Edomite, because he is your brother; you shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a stranger in his land.
8 Les fils qui leur naîtront à la troisième génération, seront admissibles dans l'Assemblée de l'Éternel.
If sons be born to them, in the third generation they shall enter into the assembly of the Lord.
9 Quand tu seras en campement, marchant contre tes ennemis, évite avec soin toute indécence.
And if you should go forth to engage with your enemies, then you shall keep you from every wicked thing.
10 S'il se trouve chez toi quelqu'un qui ne soit pas en état de pureté à la suite d'un accident nocturne, qu'il se transporte hors du camp; il ne doit pas entrer dans l'intérieur du camp,
If there should be in you a man who is not clean by reason of his issue by night, then he shall go forth out of the camp, and he shall not enter into the camp.
11 mais vers le soir il se baignera dans l'eau, et au coucher du soleil il rentrera dans l'intérieur du camp.
And it shall come to pass towards evening he shall wash his body with water, and when the sun has gone down, he shall go into the camp.
12 Tu auras aussi des lieux d'aisance hors du camp, et tu iras là, dehors.
And you shall have a place outside of the camp, and you shall go out there,
13 Et à tes outils tu joindras une pelle, et quand tu iras dehors, tu t'en serviras pour en faire un creux et recouvrir tes déjections.
and you shall have a trowel on your girdle; and it shall come to pass when you would relieve yourself abroad, that you shall dig with it, and shall bring back the earth and cover your nuisance.
14 Car l'Éternel, ton Dieu, est présent dans ton camp, pour te délivrer, et faire céder tes ennemis devant toi; ton camp doit donc être saint, de peur que s'il y voit quelque chose de dégoûtant, Il ne se retire loin de toi.
Because the Lord your God walks in your camp to deliver you, and to give up your enemy before your face; and your camp shall be holy, and there shall not appear in you a disgraceful thing, and [so] he shall turn away from you.
15 Tu ne livreras pas à son maître l'esclave qui se sera sauvé chez toi de chez son maître.
You shall not deliver a servant to his master, who [coming] from his master attaches himself to you.
16 Il demeurera chez toi dans ton intérieur, au lieu qu'il aura choisi dans l'une de tes villes, où bon lui semblera; tu ne seras pas dur envers lui.
He shall dwell with you, he shall dwell amongst you where he shall please; you shall not afflict him.
17 Qu'il ne se trouve aucune prostituée parmi les filles d'Israël, et aucun prostitué parmi les fils d'Israël.
There shall not be a harlot of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be a fornicator of the sons of Israel; there shall not be an idolatress of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be an initiated person of the sons of Israel.
18 Tu n'apporteras ni le don fait à une prostituée, ni le prix payé à un chien, dans la maison de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, ensuite d'un vœu quelconque, car l'un et l'autre sont l'abomination de l'Éternel, ton Dieu.
You shall not bring the hire of a harlot, nor the price of a dog into the house of the Lord your God, for any vow; because even both are an abomination to the Lord your God.
19 Tu n'exigeras point d'intérêts de ton frère, ni intérêt d'argent, ni intérêt de denrées, ni intérêt de rien de ce qui se prête à intérêts.
You shall not lend to your brother on usury of silver, or usury of meat, or usury of any thing which you may lend out.
20 Mais de l'homme du dehors tu pourras exiger des intérêts, et non pas de ton frère, afin que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans tout ce que tu entreprendras dans le pays dont tu viens faire la conquête.
You may lend on usury to a stranger, but to your brother you shall not lend on usury; that the Lord your God may bless you in all your works upon the land, into which you are entering to inherit it.
21 Quand tu fais un vœu à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, ne tarde pas à l'accomplir; car l'Éternel, ton Dieu, le réclamera de toi, et tu te chargerais d'un péché.
And if you will vow a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it; for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and [otherwise] it shall be sin in you.
22 Si tu t'abstiens de vœux, tu ne te charges point d'un péché.
But if you should be unwilling to vow, it is not sin in you.
23 Tiens ce que tes lèvres ont exprimé, et agis conformément au vœu que tu as fait librement à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, à ce que ta bouche a prononcé.
You shall observe the words that proceed from between your lips; and as you have vowed a gift to the Lord God, [so] shall you do that which you have spoken with your mouth.
24 Si tu entres dans la vigne de ton prochain, tu peux manger des raisins à souhait, à te rassasier, mais n'en mets point dans ton panier.
And if you should go into the corn field of your neighbour, then you may gather the ears with your hands; but you shall not put the sickle to your neighbour's corn.
25 Si tu entres dans le champ de ton prochain, tu peux cueillir des épis avec la main, mais ne fais pas jouer la faucille dans la moisson de ton prochain.
And if you should go into the vineyard of your neighbour, you shall eat grapes sufficient to satisfy your desire; but you may not put them into a vessel.
