Actes 14
1 Or, il advint qu'à Icône ils entrèrent ensemble dans la synagogue des Juifs, et qu'ils parlèrent de manière qu'une grande multitude de Juifs et de Grecs crurent;
But it bifelde at Yconye, that thei entriden togidir in to the synagoge of Jewis, and spaken, so that ful greet multitude of Jewis and Grekis bileueden.
2 mais ceux des Juifs qui refusèrent de croire soulevèrent et aigrirent l'esprit des Gentils contre les frères.
But the Jewis that weren vnbileueful, reiseden persecucioun, and stiriden to wraththe the soulis of hethene men ayens the britheren; but the Lord yaf soone pees.
3 Aussi, après que, pendant un long espace de temps, ils eurent agi avec une pleine assurance, grâce au Seigneur qui rendait témoignage à la parole de Sa grâce en permettant que des miracles et des prodiges s'opérassent par leurs mains,
Therfor thei dwelliden myche tyme, and diden tristili in the Lord, berynge witnessyng to the word of his grace, yyuynge signes and wondris to be maad bi the hondis of hem.
4 la multitude de l'endroit se divisa, les uns tenant pour les Juifs et les autres pour les apôtres.
But the multitude of the citee was departid, and sum weren with the Jewis, and sum with the apostlis.
5 Mais, s'étant aperçus que les Gentils et les Juifs avec leurs chefs étaient prêts à les outrager et à les lapider,
But whanne ther was maad `an asaute of the hethene men and the Jewis, with her princis, to turmenten and to stonen hem,
6 ils se réfugièrent dans les villes de Lycaonie, Lystre et Derbe, et dans le pays circonvoisin;
thei vndurstoden, and fledden togidere to the citees of Licaonye, and Listris, and Derben, and into al the cuntre aboute.
7 et ils y prêchaient la bonne nouvelle.
And thei prechiden there the gospel, and al the multitude was moued togider in the teching of hem. Poul and Barnabas dwelten at Listris.
8 Et, à Lystre, se tenait assis un certain homme impotent des pieds, estropié de naissance qui jamais n'avait marché.
And a man at Listris was sijk in the feet, and hadde sete crokid fro his modris wombe, which neuer hadde goen.
9 Cet individu entendait parler Paul qui, ayant fixé ses regards sur lui, et ayant vu qu'il avait foi en sa guérison,
This herde Poul spekinge; and Poul biheld hym, and siy that he hadde feith, that he schulde be maad saaf,
10 lui dit à voix haute: « Lève-toi tout droit sur tes pieds; » et il sauta, et il marchait.
and seide with a greet vois, Rise thou `vp riyt on thi feet. And he lippide, and walkide.
11 Et la foule, ayant vu ce que Paul avait fait, éleva la voix en disant en lycaonien: « Les dieux, ayant pris la ressemblance des hommes, sont descendus vers nous; »
And the puple, whanne thei hadde seyn that that Poul dide, reriden her vois in Licaon tunge, and seiden, Goddis maad lijk to men ben comun doun to vs.
12 et ils appelaient Barnabas Jupiter, et Paul Mercure, parce qu'il portait la parole.
And thei clepiden Barnabas Jubiter, and Poul Mercurie, for he was ledere of the word.
13 Et le prêtre du Jupiter qui est devant l'entrée de la ville, ayant amené vers les portes des taureaux avec des bandelettes, voulait offrir un sacrifice avec la foule;
And the preest of Jubiter that was bifor the citee, brouyte boolis and crownes bifor the yatis, with puplis, and wolde haue maad sacrifice.
14 mais les apôtres Barnabas et Paul l'ayant appris déchirèrent leurs vêtements et se jetèrent au milieu de la foule, en s'écriant: «
And whanne the apostlis Barnabas and Poul herden this, thei to-renten her cootis; and thei skipten out among the puple,
15 O hommes, pourquoi agissez-vous ainsi? Nous aussi, nous sommes des hommes de même espèce que vous, qui vous annonçons une bonne nouvelle pour que vous vous détourniez de toutes ces vanités, et que vous vous convertissiez au Dieu vivant, qui a fait le ciel et la terre, et la mer et tout ce qui s'y trouve;
and crieden, and seiden, Men, what don ye this thing? and we ben deedli men lijk you, and schewen to you, that ye be conuertid fro these veyn thingis to the lyuynge God, that maad heuene, and erthe, and the see, and alle thingis that ben in hem;
16 qui, dans les générations passées, a laissé tous les Gentils suivre leurs propres voies,
which in generaciouns passid suffride alle folkis to gon in to her owne weies.
17 quoiqu'il ne se soit pas laissé sans témoignage par Ses bienfaits, vous donnant du ciel des pluies et des saisons fertiles, remplissant vos cœurs d'aliments et de joie. »
And yit he lefte not hym silf with out witnessing in wel doyng, for he yaf reyns fro heuene, and times beringe fruyt, and fulfillide youre hertis with meete and gladnesse.
18 Et, tout en parlant ainsi, ils eurent grand peine à empêcher la foule de leur offrir un sacrifice.
And thei seiynge these thingis, vnnethis swagiden the puple, that thei offriden not to hem.
19 Mais il survint d'Antioche et d'Icône des Juifs qui gagnèrent la foule, et qui, après avoir lapidé Paul, le traînèrent hors de la ville, croyant qu'il était mort;
But sum Jewis camen ouer fro Antioche and Iconye, and counseilden the puple, and stonyden Poul, and drowen out of the citee, and gessiden that he was deed.
20 mais, les disciples s'étant rangés en cercle autour de lui, il se leva et entra dans la ville, et le lendemain il partit avec Barnabas pour Derbe.
But whanne disciplis weren comun aboute him, he roos, and wente in to the citee; and in the dai suynge he wente forth with Barnabas in to Derben.
21 Et, après avoir évangélisé dans cette ville et y avoir fait de nombreux disciples, ils revinrent à Lystre, et à Icône, et à Antioche,
And whanne thei hadden prechid to the ilk citee, and tauyte manye, thei turneden ayen to Listris, and Iconye, and to Antioche; confermynge the soulis of disciplis,
22 fortifiant l'âme des disciples, les exhortant à persister dans la foi, et leur apprenant que c'est par beaucoup de tribulations qu'il faut que nous entrions dans le royaume de Dieu.
and monestinge, that thei schulden dwelle in feith, and seiden, That bi many tribulaciouns it bihoueth vs to entre in to the kingdom of heuenes.
23 Puis, après avoir élu dans chaque église des anciens, ils les recommandèrent, par des prières accompagnées de jeûnes, au Seigneur en qui ils avaient cru.
And whanne thei hadden ordeined prestis to hem bi alle citees, and hadden preied with fastyngis, thei bitoken hem to the Lord, in whom thei bileueden.
24 Et, ayant traversé la Pisidie, ils vinrent en Pamphylie,
And thei passiden Persidie, and camen to Pamfilie;
25 et, après avoir prêché la parole à Perge, ils descendirent à Attalie,
and thei spaken the word `of the Lord in Pergen, and camen doun in to Italie.
26 et de là ils firent voile pour Antioche, d'où ils avaient été recommandés à la grâce de Dieu pour l'œuvre qu'ils venaient d'accomplir.
And fro thennys thei wenten bi boot to Antiochie, fro whennus thei weren takun to the grace of God, in to the werk that thei filliden.
27 Puis, après qu'ils furent arrivés et qu'ils eurent réuni l'église, ils racontaient tout ce que Dieu avait fait avec eux, et comment Il avait ouvert aux Gentils la porte de la foi.
And whanne thei weren comun, and hadden gaderid the chirche, thei telden hou grete thingis God dide with hem, and that he hadde openyde to hethene men the dore of feith.
28 Or, pendant qu'ils faisaient un séjour assez prolongé auprès des disciples,
And thei dwelliden not a litil tyme with the disciplis.
