2 Samuel 22
1 Et David adressa à l'Éternel les paroles de ce cantique, lorsque l'Éternel l'eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül
And David spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
2 et il dit: Éternel, mon rocher, mon asile et mon libérateur,
And he said, Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine.
3 ô Dieu, mon rocher, où je vais m'abriter! mon bouclier, corne de mon salut, mon boulevard et mon refuge, mon Sauveur, de la violence tu me sauves!
God, my rock, in him I will take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior. Thou save me from violence.
4 Loué soit l'Éternel, me suis-je écrié, et de mes ennemis j'ai été délivré.
I will call upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praised. So I shall be saved from my enemies.
5 Car les vagues de la mort m'enserraient, et les torrents de l'adversité m'épouvantaient,
For the waves of death encompassed me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
The cords of Sheol were round about me. The snares of death came upon me. (Sheol h7585)
7 Dans mon angoisse j'invoquai l'Éternel et à mon Dieu j'adressai mon appel, et de son palais Il entendit ma voix, et mes cris [vinrent] à ses oreilles.
In my distress I called upon Jehovah. Yea, I called to my God. And he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came into his ears.
8 Alors la terre oscilla et trembla, les fondements des Cieux s'ébranlèrent et tremblèrent, parce qu'il était courroucé.
Then the earth shook and trembled, the foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.
9 Une fumée sortit de ses narines, et de sa bouche, un feu dévorant, et Il fit jaillir des charbons ardents,
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it.
10 et Il inclina le Ciel et Il descendit, et l'obscurité était sous ses pieds.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down, and thick darkness was under his feet.
11 Et Il était monté sur le Chérubin et volait Et Il se montra sur les ailes du vent,
And he rode upon a cherub, and flew. Yea, he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12 et autour de Lui Il fit sa tente des ténèbres, des amas d'eau et des sombres nuées.
And he made darkness pavilions round about him, gathering of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
13 De la splendeur qui le précède, jaillirent les charbons ardents.
At the brightness before him coals of fire were kindled.
14 L'Éternel tonna du ciel et le Très-Haut émit sa voix,
Jehovah thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered his voice.
15 et Il lança ses flèches et Il les dissipa, la foudre, et Il les défit.
And he sent out arrows, and scattered them, lightning, and discomfited them.
16 Et l'on vit paraître les vallées de la mer, et les fondements du monde furent mis à nu au grondement de l'Éternel, au souffle du vent de ses narines.
Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of Jehovah, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
17 Il tendit [sa main] d'en haut et me prit et Il me retira des grandes eaux.
He sent from on high, he took me. He drew me out of many waters.
18 Il me sauva de mes puissants ennemis, de mes adversaires qui l'emportaient sur moi.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
19 Ils m'attaquaient au jour du malheur, mais l'Éternel fut un soutien pour moi.
They came upon me in the day of my calamity, but Jehovah was my support.
20 Il m'amena au large, Il me dégagea parce qu'il m'était propice.
He brought me forth also into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
21 L'Éternel me traita selon ma justice, et me rendit selon la pureté de mes mains;
Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
22 car je gardais les voies de l'Éternel, et n'étais point rebelle à mon Dieu.
For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23 Car j'avais toutes ses lois sous les yeux, et ne m'écartais pas de ses commandements;
For all his ordinances were before me. And as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
24 j'étais sans reproche envers Lui, et je prenais garde de me rendre coupable.
I was also perfect toward him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.
25 Aussi l'Éternel me rendit selon ma justice, selon ma pureté dont Il était témoin.
Therefore Jehovah has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his eyesight.
26 A celui qui t'aime, tu donnes ton amour, tu te montres juste pour l'homme juste,
With the merciful thou will show thyself merciful. With the perfect man thou will show thyself perfect.
27 tu es pur envers celui qui est pur, et tu trahis celui qui est perfide.
With the pure thou will show thyself pure. And with the perverse thou will show thyself contrary.
28 Et tu es en aide au peuple qui souffre, et tes yeux sont sur les superbes pour les humilier.
And the afflicted people thou will save, but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou may bring them down.
29 Oui, tu as été mon flambeau, Éternel, et l'Éternel éclaira mes ténèbres.
For thou are my lamp, O Jehovah. And Jehovah will lighten my darkness.
30 Avec toi j'affrontai des bataillons, et avec mon Dieu je franchis des murailles.
For by thee I run upon a troop. By my God do I leap over a wall.
31 Les voies de Dieu ne sont point trompeuses, et la parole de l'Éternel est sans alliage. Il est un bouclier pour quiconque le réclame.
As for God, his way is perfect. The word of Jehovah is tried. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
32 Car qui est-ce qui est Dieu hors l'Éternel? et qui est un rocher sinon notre Dieu,
For who is God, except Jehovah? And who is a rock, except our God?
33 ce Dieu qui fut ma forte citadelle et guida le juste dans Sa voie?
God is my strong fortress, and he guides the perfect in his way.
34 Il assimila mes pieds à ceux de la biche, et Il m'établit sur mes hauteurs.
He makes his feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places.
35 Il forma mes mains au combat, et mon bras sut bander l'arc d'airain.
He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of brass.
36 Tu me donnas le bouclier de ton secours, et en m'exauçant tu m'agrandis.
Thou have also given me the shield of thy salvation, and thy gentleness has made me great.
37 Sous mes pieds tu donnas de l'espace à mes pas, et mes talons ne furent point vacillants.
Thou have enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not slipped.
38 Je poursuivis mes ennemis et les anéantis, et je ne revins pas qu'ils ne fussent détruits;
I have pursued my enemies, and destroyed them, neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
39 je les achevai, et les écrasai, et ils n'ont pu se relever, ils tombèrent sous mes pieds.
And I have consumed them, and smitten them through, so that they cannot arise. Yea, they are fallen under my feet.
40 Tu me ceignis de force pour la bataille, et tu fis plier mes adversaires sous moi.
For thou have girded me with strength to the battle. Thou have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
41 Tu me fis voir le dos de mes ennemis, et j'anéantis ceux qui me haïssaient.
Thou have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.
42 Ils regardèrent autour d'eux; il n'y eut point de sauveur, vers l'Éternel, Il ne leur répondit pas.
They looked, but there was none to save; even to Jehovah, but he did not answer them.
43 Je les pulvérisai comme la poudre de la terre, comme la boue des rues les foulai, les broyai.
Then I beat them small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad.
44 Tu me délivras des attaques de mon peuple, et me gardas pour chef des nations; des peuples à moi inconnus me sont asservis;
Thou have also delivered me from the strivings of my people. Thou have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known shall serve me.
45 les enfants de l'étranger devinrent mes flatteurs; sur ma renommée ils se soumirent.
The foreigners shall submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me.
46 Les enfants de l'étranger sont en décadence, et quittent alarmés leurs châteaux.
The foreigners shall fade away, and shall come trembling out of their hiding places.
47 Vive l'Éternel! béni soit mon rocher! qu'il soit exalté le Dieu, mon rocher, mon sauveur,
Jehovah lives. And blessed be my rock. And exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
48 le Dieu qui m'accorda la vengeance et m'assujettit les peuples,
Even the God who executes vengeance for me, and who brings down peoples under me,
49 qui me délivra de mes ennemis, m'éleva au-dessus de mes adversaires et me fit échapper à l'homme violent!
and who brings me forth from my enemies. Yea, thou lift me up above those who rise up against me. Thou deliver me from the violent man.
50 Aussi je veux te chanter parmi les peuples, Éternel, et célébrer ton Nom,
Therefore I will give thanks to thee, O Jehovah, among gentiles, and will sing praises to thy name.
51 ô toi, qui accordes un grand salut à ton Roi, et fais miséricorde à ton Oint, à David et à sa race éternellement.
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore.
