2 Chroniques 3
1 Et Salomon commença à construire le Temple de l'Éternel à Jérusalem sur le mont de Moriia qui avait été indiqué à David, son père, au lieu que David avait disposé sur l'aire d'Ornan, le Jébusite.
And Solomon begins to build the house of YHWH in Jerusalem, on the mount of Moriah where He appeared to his father David, in the place that David had prepared, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite,
2 Et il commença la construction au second mois, le second [jour], la quatrième année de son règne.
and he begins to build in the second [day], in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
3 Et voici la base que Salomon fixa pour la construction de la Maison de Dieu: la longueur, en coudées ancienne mesure, soixante coudées, et la largeur, vingt coudées,
And [in] these Solomon has been instructed to build the house of God: the length [in] cubits by the former measure [is] sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
4 et le vestibule dont la longueur occupait la largeur de la façade de l'édifice, vingt coudées, et la hauteur cent vingt, et il le revêtit intérieurement d'or pur.
As for the porch that [is] on the front, the length [is] by the front of the breadth of the house—twenty cubits, and the height one hundred and twenty [[or twenty]], and he overlays it within with pure gold.
5 Et il revêtit le grand bâtiment de bois de cyprès, et le revêtit de bel or et d'un parement de palmiers et de chaînettes.
And he has covered the large house with fir-trees, and he covers it with fine gold, and causes palms and chains to ascend on it,
6 Et il recouvrit l'édifice de pierres précieuses comme ornement, et l'or était or de Parvaïm.
and he overlays the house with precious stone for beauty, and the gold [is] gold of Parvaim,
7 Et il revêtit d'or l'édifice, les solives, les seuils et ses parois et battants de porte, et cisela des Chérubins aux parois.
and he covers the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold, and has engraved cherubim on the walls.
8 Et il fit le bâtiment du Lieu Très-Saint, sa longueur égale à la largeur de l'édifice, étant de vingt coudées, et sa largeur de vingt coudées, et le revêtit de bel or qui se montait à six cents talents.
And he makes the most holy house: its length by the front of the breadth of the house—twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits, and he covers it with six hundred talents of fine gold;
9 Et le poids pour les clous était de cinquante sicles d'or. Et il revêtit aussi d'or les chambres supérieures.
and the weight of the nails [is] fifty shekels of gold, and he has covered the upper chambers with gold.
10 Et il fit dans le Lieu Très-Saint deux Chérubins en travail de sculpture, et on les recouvrit d'or.
And he makes two cherubim in the most holy house, image work, and he overlays them with gold;
11 Quant aux ailes des Chérubins, leur longueur était de vingt coudées; l'aile de l'un, longue de cinq coudées, touchait à la paroi de l'édifice, et l'autre aile, longue de cinq coudées, touchait à l'aile de l'autre Chérubin;
as for the wings of the cherubim, their length [is] twenty cubits, the wing of the one [is] five cubits, touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [is] five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.
12 et l'aile de l'autre Chérubin, longue de cinq coudées, touchait à la paroi de l'édifice, et l'autre aile, longue de cinq coudées, joignait l'aile de l'autre Chérubin;
And the wing of the other cherub [is] five cubits touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [is] five cubits, adhering to the wing of the other cherub.
13 les ailes de ces Chérubins, déployées, avaient vingt coudées de longueur, et ils étaient debout sur leurs pieds et leurs visages regardaient l'édifice.
The wings of these cherubim are spreading forth twenty cubits, and they are standing on their feet and their faces [are] inward.
14 Et il fit le voile de pourpre azuré et rouge et de cramoisi et de byssus et y adapta des Chérubins.
And he makes the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and causes cherubim to go up on it.
15 Et il fit devant l'édifice deux colonnes ayant trente-cinq coudées de hauteur, et le parement de leur faîte avait cinq coudées [de longueur].
And he makes two pillars at the front of the house, thirty-five cubits in length, and the ornament that [is] on their heads [is] five cubits.
16 Et il fit des chaînettes dans le Sanctuaire et en mit aux faîtes des colonnes et fit cent grenades qu'il ajusta aux chaînettes.
And he makes chains in the oracle, and puts [them] on the heads of the pillars, and makes one hundred pomegranates, and puts [them] on the chains.
17 Et il dressa les colonnes à la façade du Temple, une à droite et une à gauche, et donna à celle de droite le nom de Jachin et à celle de gauche le nom de Boaz.
And he raises up the pillars on the front of the temple, one on the right and one on the left, and calls the name of that on the right Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
