1 Chroniques 9
1 Or tous les Israélites furent enregistrés, et voici ils sont inscrits dans le livre des rois d'Israël. Et Juda fut déporté à Babel à cause de ses forfaits.
All of the people of Israel were recorded in the genealogies written down in the book of the kings of Israel. The people of Judah were taken away to captivity in Babylon because they had been unfaithful.
2 Les premiers habitants qui [vivaient] sur leur propriété dans leurs villes, étaient, les Israélites, les Prêtres, les Lévites et les attachés.
The first to return and reclaim their property and live in their towns were some Israelites, priests, Levities, and Temple servants.
3 Et à Jérusalem habitaient des fils de Juda et des fils de Benjamin et des fils d'Ephraïm et de Manassé, Uthaï, fils d'Ammihud, fils de Omri, fils d'Imri, fils de Bani,
Some from the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh returned to live in Jerusalem. They included:
4 des fils de Pérets, fils de Juda.
Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, a descendant of Perez, son of Judah.
5 Et des Silonites: Asaïa, le premier-né, et ses fils.
From the Shilonites: Asaiah (firstborn) and his sons.
6 Et des fils de Zérach: Jehuel et leurs frères, six cent quatre-vingt-dix.
From the Zerahites: Jeuel and relatives totaled 690.
7 Et des fils de Benjamin: Sallu, fils de Mesullam, fils d'Hodavia, fils de Assenua,
From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
8 et Jibneia, fils de Jéroham, et Ela, fils de Uzzi, fils de Michri et Mesullam, fils de Sephatia, fils de Rehuel, fils de Jibniia,
Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, son of Micri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah.
9 et leurs frères, selon leurs familles, neuf cent cinquante-six. Tous ces hommes étaient patriarches de leurs maisons patriarcales.
All of them were family heads as recorded in their genealogies, and they totaled 956.
10 Et des Prêtres: Jedaïa et Jojarib et Jachin
From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jakin,
11 et Azaria, fils d'Hilkia, fils de Mesullam, fils de Tsadoc, fils de Meraioth, fils d'Ahitub, primicier de la Maison de Dieu;
Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub. (Azariah was the head official in charge of the house of God.)
12 et Adaïa, fils de Jeroham, fils de Paschur, fils de Malchiia, et Maesaï, fils de Adiel, fils de Jahzera, fils de Mesullam, fils de Messilêmith, fils de Immer,
Also Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malkijah, and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer.
13 et leurs frères, chefs de leurs maisons patriarcales, mille sept cent soixante, hommes vigoureux à l'œuvre du service de la maison de Dieu.
The priests, who were family heads, totaled 1,760. They were strong and capable men who served in the house of God.
14 Et des Lévites: Semaia, fils de Chassub, fils d'Azricam, fils de Hasabia, des fils de Merari,
From the Levites: Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;
15 et Bacbaccar, Hérès et Galal et Matthania, fils de Michée, fils de Zichri, fils d'Asaph;
Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zicri, son of Asaph;
16 et Obadia, fils de Semaia, fils de Galal, fils de Jeduthun, et Berechia, fils d'Asa, fils d'Elkana, qui habitait dans les bourgs des Netophathites.
Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun; and Berekiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who used to live in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 Et les portiers: Sallum et Accub et Talmon et Abiman et leurs frères; Sallum était le chef.
The gatekeepers of the Temple: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman and their relatives. Shallum was the chief gatekeeper.
18 Et jusqu'à présent ils sont à la Porte Royale à l'orient, eux, les portiers du campement des fils de Lévi.
They had the responsibility up until now of looking after the King's Gate on the east side. They were the gatekeepers of the camps of the Levites.
19 Et Sallum, fils de Coré, fils d'Ebiasaph, fils de Coré, et ses frères de la maison de son père, les Coraïtes étaient préposés à la fonction du service, comme gardes des seuils de la Tente, et leurs pères étaient préposés sur le camp de l'Éternel, gardes de l'avenue.
Shallum was the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrances to the sanctuary in the same way their fathers had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the tented house of the Lord.
20 Et Phinées, fils d'Eléazar, fut jadis leur chef (l'Éternel était avec lui).
Previously Phinehas son of Eleazar had been the leader of the gatekeepers. The Lord was with him.
21 Zacharie, fils de Mesélémia, était un portier à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
22 Tous, choisis pour être gardes des seuils, ils étaient au nombre de deux cent douze. Ils étaient enregistrés d'après leurs villages. David et Samuel, le Voyant, les avaient institués sur leur foi.
In total there were 212 chosen to be gatekeepers at the entrances. They recorded their genealogies in their home towns. David and Samuel the prophet had selected their forefathers for their faithfulness.
23 Eux et leurs fils étaient de garde aux portes de la maison de l'Éternel, de la Résidence de la Tente.
They and their descendants were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord, also when it was a tent.
24 Les portiers stationnaient aux quatre vents, à l'orient, à l'occident, au septentrion et au midi.
The gatekeepers were placed on four sides: east, west, north, and south.
25 Et leurs frères demeuraient dans leurs villages pour venir se joindre à eux le septième jour à époques fixes;
Their relatives in their towns came every seven days at certain times to help them.
26 car ces quatre chefs des portiers, ces mêmes Lévites, étaient laissés sur leur foi, et ils avaient la surveillance des cellules et des trésors de la Maison de Dieu.
The four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were given the responsibility of looking after the rooms and treasuries in the house of God.
27 Et ils passaient la nuit aux alentours de la Maison de Dieu, car ils étaient chargés de faire la garde et d'ouvrir tous les matins.
They spent the night around the house of God because they had to guard it and they had the key to unlock it in the morning.
28 Et il y en avait de préposés sur la vaisselle du service, qu'ils rentraient en la comptant, et sortaient en la comptant.
Some of the gatekeepers were responsible for the articles that were used in worship services. They counted what was brought in and what was taken out.
29 Et il y en avait de préposés sur les ustensiles, sur tous les ustensiles sacrés, et sur la fleur de farine et le vin et l'huile et l'encens et les aromates.
Others were given the job of looking after the furniture and equipment used in the sanctuary, as well as the special flour, wine, olive oil, incense, and spices.
30 Et c'étaient des fils de Prêtres qui composaient l'huile aromatisée.
(However, some of the priests were in charge of mixing the spices.)
31 Et à Matthithia, l'un des Lévites (premier-né de Sallum), le Coraïte, était confié le soin de la boulangerie.
Mattithiah, a Levite, who was the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was given the responsibility of baking the bread used in offerings.
32 Et quelques-uns des fils des Kahathites, leurs frères, étaient préposés sur les pains de présentation, qu'ils avaient à préparer sabbat par sabbat.
Other Kohathites were in charge of preparing the bread set out on the table every Sabbath.
33 Ce sont là les chantres, patriarches des Lévites, exemptés du service des cellules, parce que jour et nuit ils vaquaient à leur affaire.
The musicians, heads of Levite families, lived in the rooms in the Temple and were not required to carry out other duties because they were on duty day and night.
34 Ce sont là les patriarches des Lévites selon leurs familles, les chefs; ils demeuraient à Jérusalem.
These were all heads of Levite families, leaders as recorded in their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.
35 Or à Gabaon demeurait le père de Gabaon, Jehiel, le nom de sa femme était Maacha.
Jeiel was the father of Gibeon and he lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maacah.
36 Et son fils premier-né fut Abdon, puis il eut Tsur et Kis et Baal et Ner et Nadab
His firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 et Gedor et Ahio et Zacharie et Micloth.
Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 Et Micloth engendra Simeam, et ceux-ci aussi habitèrent vis-à-vis de leurs frères à Jérusalem auprès de leurs frères.
Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They also lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
39 Et Ner engendra Kis, et Kis engendra Saül, et Saül engendra Jonathan et Malkisua et Abinadab et Esbaal.
Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.
40 Et le fils de Jonathan fut Meribbaal, et Meribbaal engendra Micha.
The son of Jonathan: Merib-Baal, who was the father of Micah.
41 Et les fils de Micha furent Pithon et Mélech et Thaherèa.
The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42 Et Achaz engendra Jaëra, et Jaëra engendra Alemeth et Azmaveth et Zimri, et Zimri engendra Motsa. Et Motsa engendra Binea,
Ahaz was the father of Jadah, Jadah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza.
43 dont le fils fut Rephaia qui eut pour fils Elasa, dont le fils fut Atsel.
Moza was the father of Binea; Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.
44 Et Atsel eut six fils dont les noms suivent: Azricam, Bochru et Jismaël et Searia et Obadia et Chanan. Ce sont les fils de Atsel.
Azel had six sons. Their names were: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
