1 Fils de Lévi: Gerson, Cahath et Merari.

The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

2 Et les fils de Cahath: Amram, Jitsehar et Hébron et Uzziel.

The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 Et les fils d'Amram: Aaron et Moïse et Miriam. Et les fils d'Aaron: Nadab et Abihu, Eléazar et Ithamar.

The children of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

4 Eléazar engendra Phinées, Phinées engendra Abisua,

Eleazar became the father of Phinehas, Phinehas became the father of Abishua,

5 et Abisua engendra Buki, et Buki engendra Uzzi.

and Abishua became the father of Bukki, and Bukki became the father of Uzzi,

6 Et Uzzi engendra Zerachia, et Zerachia engendra Meraioth.

and Uzzi became the father of Zerahiah, and Zerahiah became the father of Meraioth,

7 Meraioth engendra Amaria, et Amaria engendra Ahitub,

Meraioth became the father of Amariah, and Amariah became the father of Ahitub,

8 et Ahitub engendra Tsadoc, et Tsadoc engendra Ahimaats.

and Ahitub became the father of Zadok, and Zadok became the father of Ahimaaz,

9 Et Ahimaats engendra Azaria, et Azaria engendra Jochanan,

and Ahimaaz became the father of Azariah, and Azariah became the father of Johanan,

10 et Jochanan engendra Azaria (c'est lui qui exerça le sacerdoce dans le Temple que bâtit Salomon à Jérusalem);

and Johanan became the father of Azariah, (he it is who executed the priest's office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem),

11 et Azaria engendra Amaria, et Amaria engendra Ahitub,

and Azariah became the father of Amariah, and Amariah became the father of Ahitub,

12 et Ahitub engendra Tsadoc, et Tsadoc engendra Sallum,

and Ahitub became the father of Zadok, and Zadok became the father of Shallum,

13 et Sallum engendra Hilkia, et Hilkia engendra Azaria,

and Shallum became the father of Hilkiah, and Hilkiah became the father of Azariah,

14 et Azaria engendra Seraïa, et Seraïa engendra Jotsadac,

and Azariah became the father of Seraiah, and Seraiah became the father of Jehozadak;

15 et Jotsadac partit lorsque l'Éternel déporta Juda et Jérusalem par le moyen de Nebucadnetsar.

Jehozadak went into captivity, when Jehovah carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16 Fils de Lévi: Gersom, Cahath et Merari.

The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 Suivent les noms des fils de Gersom: Libni et Siméï.

These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

18 Et les fils de Cahath: Amram et Jitsehar et Hébron et Uzziel.

The sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Fils de Merari: Maheli et Mussi. Suivent les familles des Lévites selon leurs patriarches.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

20 De Gersom, dont le fils fut Libni, dont le fils fut Jéhath, dont le fils fut Zimma,

Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 dont le fils fut Joah, dont le fils fut Iddo, dont le fils fut Zérach, dont le fils fut Jeathraï.

Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.

22 Fils de Cahath: Amminadab, dont le fils fut Coré, dont le fils fut Assir,

The descendants of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

23 dont le fils fut Elkana, dont le fils fut Ebiasaph, dont le fils fut Assir,

Elkanah his son, and Abiasaph his son, and Assir his son,

24 dont le fils fut Thahath, dont le fils fut Uriel, dont le fils fut Uzziia, dont le fils fut Saül.

Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 Et les fils d'Elkana: Amasaï et Ahimoth,

The sons of Elkanah: Amasai, and Ahimoth.

26 dont le fils fut Elkana qui eut pour fils Elkana-Tsophaï, dont le fils fut Nahath

Elkanah his son, Zuphai his son, and Nahath his son,

27 qui eut pour fils Eliab, dont le fils fut Jeroham qui eut pour fils Elkana.

Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son, Samuel his son.

28 Et les fils de Samuel: le premier-né Vasni et Abia.

The sons of Samuel: the firstborn Joel, and the second Abijah.

29 Fils de Merari: Maheli, dont le fils fut Libni qui eut pour fils Siméï, dont le fils fut Uzza

The descendants of Merari: Mahli his son, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,

30 qui eut pour fils Simea, dont le fils fut Haggia qui eut pour fils Asaïa.

Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 Suivent ceux que David préposa à la conduite du chant dans la Maison de l'Éternel dès que l'arche fut fixée.

These are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah, after that the ark had rest.

32 Et ils officièrent devant la Résidence de la Tente du Rendez-vous dans le chant jusqu'à ce que Salomon construisît le Temple de l'Éternel à Jérusalem, et ils s'acquittaient selon leur règle de leur fonction.

They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, until Solomon had built the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem: and they waited on their office according to their order.

33 Et voici ces fonctionnaires, ainsi que leurs fils: des fils des Cahathites: Heiman, le chantre, fils de Joël, fils de Samuel,

These are those who waited, and their sons. Of the descendants of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

34 fils d'Elkana, fils de Jeroham, fils d'Eliel, fils de Thoah,

the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

35 fils de Tsuph, fils d'Elkana, fils de Mahath, fils d'Amasaï,

the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

36 fils d'Elkana, fils de Joël, fils d'Azaria, fils de Sophonie,

the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

37 fils de Thahath, fils d'Assir, fils d'Ebiasaph, fils de Coré,

the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Abiasaph, the son of Korah,

38 fils de Jitsehar, fils de Cahath, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël.

the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 Et son frère Asaph qui se tenait à sa droite, Asaph, fils de Béréchia, fils de Silea,

His brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

40 fils de Michaël, fils de Baaseïa, fils de Malchiia,

the son of Michael, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

41 fils de Etni, fils de Zérah, fils de Adaïa,

the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

42 fils d'Eithan, fils de Zimna, fils de Siméi,

the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

43 fils de Jahath, fils de Gersom, fils de Lévi.

the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

44 Et les fils de Merari, leurs frères, se tenaient à la gauche: Eithan, fils de Kisi, fils d'Abdi, fils de Malluch,

On the left hand their brothers the descendants of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

45 fils de Hasabia, fils de Amatsia, fils d'Hillda,

the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

46 fils d'Amtsi, fils de Bani, fils de Samer,

the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,

47 fils de Maheli, fils de Mussi, fils de Merari, fils de Lévi.

the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Et leurs frères les Lévites étaient affectés à tout le service de la Résidence de la Maison de Dieu.

Their brothers the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 Et Aaron et ses fils faisaient fumer les oblations sur l'autel des holocaustes et sur l'autel aux parfums, chargés de tout le service du Lieu Très-Saint, et de l'expiation pour Israël selon toutes les prescriptions de Moïse, serviteur de Dieu.

But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

50 Suivent les fils d'Aaron: Son fils Eléazar qui eut pour fils Phinées, dont le fils fut Abisua

These are the descendants of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51 qui eut pour fils Buki, dont le fils fut Uzzi qui eut pour fils Zerahia,

Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 dont le fils fut Meraioth qui eut pour fils Amaria, dont le fils fut Ahitub

Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

53 qui eut pour fils Tsadoc, dont le fils fut Ahimaats.

Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 Et voici leurs habitations selon leurs clos dans leurs limites, savoir des fils d'Aaron de la famille des Cahathites, car à eux échut le sort.

Now these are their dwelling places according to their encampments in their borders: to the descendants of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),

55 On leur donna Hébron au pays de Juda et sa banlieue environnante,

to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and its suburbs around it;

56 mais les champs de la ville et ses villages furent donnés à Caleb, fils de Jéphunné.

but the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

57 Et aux fils d'Aaron on donna les villes de refuge: Hébron et Libna et sa banlieue, et Jatthir, et Esthmoa et sa banlieue,

To the descendants of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron; Libnah also with its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,

58 et Hilen et sa banlieue, Debir et sa banlieue,

and Hilen with its suburbs, Debir with its suburbs,

59 et Asan et sa banlieue, et Bethsémès et sa banlieue,

and Ashan with its suburbs, and Juttah with its suburbs, and Beth Shemesh with its suburbs;

60 et de la Tribu de Benjamin: Geba et sa banlieue, et Allemeth et sa banlieue, et Anathoth et sa banlieue. Total de leurs villes, treize en raison de leurs familles.

and out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its suburbs, Geba with its suburbs, and Allemeth with its suburbs, and Anathoth with its suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

61 Et les fils de Cahath restants [reçurent] des familles de la Tribu [d'Ephraïm et de celle de Dan] et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé par le sort dix villes.

To the rest of the descendants of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.

62 Et les fils de Gersom selon leurs familles reçurent de la Tribu d'Issaschar et de la Tribu d'Asser et de la Tribu de Nephthali et de la Tribu de Manassé en Basan, treize villes.

To the descendants of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 Les fils de Merari selon leurs familles reçurent de la Tribu de Ruben et de la Tribu de Gad et de la Tribu de Zabulon par le sort douze villes.

To the descendants of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 C'est ainsi que les enfants d'Israël donnèrent aux Lévites les villes et leurs banlieues.

The children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their suburbs.

65 Et ils donnèrent par le sort, de la Tribu des fils de Juda et de la Tribu des fils de Siméon et de la Tribu des fils de Benjamin, ces villes qu'ils désignèrent par leurs noms.

They gave by lot out of the tribe of the descendants of Judah, and out of the tribe of the people of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the people of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

66 Quant [aux restants] des familles de Cahath les villes de leur district étaient de la Tribu d'Ephraïm.

Some of the families of the descendants of Kohath, of the Levites, even the rest of the descendants of Kohath, had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.

67 Et on leur donna les villes de refuge: Sichem et sa banlieue dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, et Gézer et sa banlieue,

They gave to them the cities of refuge, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its suburbs; Gezer also with its suburbs,

68 et Jocmeam et sa banlieue, et Beth-Horon et sa banlieue,

and Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth Horon with its suburbs,

69 et Ajalon et sa banlieue, et Gath-Rimmon et sa banlieue,

and Aijalon with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon with its suburbs;

70 et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé Aner et sa banlieue, et Bileam et sa banlieue, — à la famille des autres fils de Cahath.

and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its suburbs, and Ibleam with its suburbs, for the rest of the family of the descendants of Kohath.

71 Les fils de Gersom eurent de la famille de la demi-Tribu de Manassé: Golan en Basan et sa banlieue, et Astaroth et sa banlieue,

To the descendants of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs;

72 et de la Tribu d'Issaschar: Kédès et sa banlieue, Dobrath et sa banlieue,

and out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs,

73 et Ramoth et sa banlieue, et Anem et sa banlieue,

and Ramoth with its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs;

74 et de la Tribu d'Asser: Masal et sa banlieue, et Abdon et sa banlieue,

and out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon with its suburbs,

75 et Hucoc et sa banlieue, et Rechob et sa banlieue;

and Hukok with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;

76 et de la Tribu de Nephthali: Kédès en Galilée et sa banlieue, et Hammon et sa banlieue, et Kiriathaïm et sa banlieue.

and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, and Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim with its suburbs.

77 Les autres fils de Merari eurent de la Tribu de Zabulon: Rimmon et sa banlieue, et Thabor et sa banlieue,

To the rest of the Levites, the descendants of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with its suburbs, Rimmon with its suburbs, and Tabor with its suburbs, and Nahalal with its suburbs.

78 et au delà du Jourdain près de Jéricho à l'Orient du Jourdain, de la Tribu de Ruben: Betser au désert et sa banlieue, et Jahtsa et sa banlieue,

And beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs,

79 et Kedémoth et sa banlieue, et Meiphaath et sa banlieue,

and Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;

80 et de la Tribu de Gad: Ramoth en Galaad et sa banlieue, et Mahanaïm et sa banlieue,

and out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,

81 et Hesbon et sa banlieue, et Jaëzer et sa banlieue.

and Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
