1 Chroniques 11
1 Et tous les Israélites formèrent assemblée auprès de David à Hébron et dirent: Voici, nous sommes tes os et ta chair.
Then all Israel gathered themselues to Dauid vnto Hebron, saying, Beholde, we are thy bones and thy flesh.
2 Déjà hier et avant-hier, déjà pendant le règne de Saül, c'était toi qui menais en campagne et ramenais Israël, et l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a dit: C'est toi qui seras le pasteur de mon peuple d'Israël, et c'est toi qui seras prince de mon peuple d'Israël.
And in time past, euen when Saul was King, thou leddest Israel out and in: and the Lord thy God sayde vnto thee, Thou shalt feede my people Israel, and thou shalt be captaine ouer my people Israel.
3 Ainsi se présentèrent tous les Anciens d'Israël au Roi en Hébron et David solennisa un pacte avec eux à Hébron devant l'Éternel; et ils oignirent David roi d'Israël aux termes de la parole de l'Éternel prononcée par l'organe de Samuel.
So came all the Elders of Israel to the King to Hebron, and Dauid made a couenant with them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anoynted Dauid King ouer Israel, according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Samuel.
4 Et David et tous les Israélites se portèrent sur Jérusalem, c'est- à-dire Jébus; or là vivaient les Jébusites habitants du pays.
And Dauid and all Israel went to Ierusalem, which is Iebus, where were the Iebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Et les habitants de Jébus dirent à David: Tu n'entreras pas ici. Mais David s'empara de la citadelle de Sion, c'est-à-dire, de la Cité de David.
And the inhabitants of Iebus said to Dauid, Thou shalt not come in hither. Neuertheles Dauid tooke the towre of Zion, which is the city of Dauid.
6 Et David dit: Le premier qui battra les Jébusites aura rang de chef et de général. Et le premier qui escalada fut Joab, fils de Tseruïa, et il devint chef.
And Dauid sayd, Whosoeuer smiteth the Iebusites first, shalbe the chiefe and captaine. So Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah went first vp, and was captaine.
7 Et David habita la citadelle; c'est pourquoi elle reçut le nom de Cité de David.
And Dauid dwelt in the tower: therefore they called it the citie of Dauid.
8 Et il éleva la cité dans son pourtour, à partir de Millo, et l'enceinte entière, et Joab restaura le restant de la ville.
And he built the citie on euery side, from Millo euen round about, and Ioab repaired the rest of the citie.
9 Et David allait toujours grandissant et l'Éternel des armées était avec lui.
And Dauid prospered, and grewe: for the Lord of hostes was with him.
10 Suivent les principaux héros qu'avait David, qui lui prêtèrent main forte lors de son avènement, avec tout Israël, pour le faire roi selon la parole de l'Éternel concernant Israël.
These also are the chiefe of the valiant men that were with Dauid, and ioyned their force with him in his kingdome with al Israel, to make him King ouer Israel, according to the worde of the Lord.
11 Et voici la liste des héros qu'avait David: Jasobeam, fils de Hachmoni, chef des trente, il brandissait sa lance sur trois cents hommes tués tout d'une haleine.
And this is the nomber of the valiant men whome Dauid had, Iashobeam the sonne of Hachmoni, the chiefe among thirtie: he lift vp his speare against three hundreth, whom he slewe at one time.
12 Et après lui Eléazar, fils de Dodo, l'Ahohite; il était l'un des trois héros.
And after him was Eleazar the sonne of Dodo the Ahohite, which was one of the three valiant men.
13 C'est lui qui était avec David à Pas-Damim, lorsque les Philistins s'étaient concentrés là pour le combat. Et il y avait là une pièce de terre, pleine d'orge, et la troupe s'enfuit devant les Philistins;
He was with Dauid at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistims were gathered together to battel: and there was a parcell of ground full of barley, and the people fled before the Philistims.
14 alors ils se postèrent au milieu du champ et le délivrèrent et battirent les Philistins, et l'Éternel accorda une grande victoire.
And they stood in the middes of the field, and saued it, and slewe the Philistims: so the Lord gaue a great victorie.
15 Et ces trois qui faisaient partie des trente chefs, descendirent au rocher vers David dans la grotte d'Adullam, et le camp des Philistins était assis dans la vallée de Rephaïm.
And three of the thirtie captaines went to a rocke to Dauid, into the caue of Adullam. And the armie of the Philistims camped in the valley of Rephaim.
16 Or David se trouvait à ce moment sur la hauteur, et il y avait alors à Bethléhem un poste de Philistins.
And when Dauid was in the hold, the Philistims garison was at Beth-lehem.
17 Et David fit un souhait et dit: Qui me fera boire de l'eau de la citerne de Bethléhem, qui est dans la porte?
And Dauid longed, and said, Oh, that one would giue me to drinke of the water of the well of Beth-lehem that is at the gate.
18 Alors les trois se firent jour à travers le campement des Philistins, et puisèrent de l'eau à la citerne de Bethléhem dans la porte, et ils l'apportèrent et l'offrirent à David; mais David ne voulut pas la boire et il la répandit en hommage à l'Éternel
Then these three brake thorowe the hoste of the Philistims, and drewe water out of the well of Beth-lehem that was by the gate, and tooke it and brought it to Dauid: but Dauid would not drinke of it, but powred it for an oblation to the Lord,
19 et dit: Mon Dieu me préserve de faire pareille chose! Boirais-je le sang de ces hommes qui ont risqué leur vie? Car c'est au péril de leur vie qu'ils l'ont apportée. Il ne voulut donc pas la boire. Tel est l'exploit des trois héros.
And said, Let not my God suffer me to do this: should I drinke the blood of these mens liues? for they haue brought it with the ieopardie of their liues: therefore he would not drinke it: these things did these three mightie men.
20 Et Abisaï, frère de Joab: il était le chef des Trois, et il brandit sa lance sur trois cents tués et il avait un nom dans les Trois.
And Abishai the brother of Ioab, he was chiefe of the three, and he lift vp his speare against three hundreth, and slew them, and had the name among the three.
21 Il était honoré par les Trois de la seconde série, et était leur chef, mais il n'atteignait pas aux Trois [premiers].
Among the three he was more honourable then the two, and he was their captaine: but he attained not vnto the first three.
22 Benaïa, fils de Joiada, fils d'un brave, illustre par ses exploits, du Cabtséel; c'est lui qui abattit les deux Ariels de Moab. C'est aussi lui qui descendit et abattit le lion dans la citerne un jour de neige.
Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada (the sonne of a valiant man) which had done many actes, and was of Kabzeel, he slewe two strong men of Moab: he went downe also and slewe a lion in the middes of a pit in time of snowe.
23 C'est aussi lui qui terrassa l'homme d'Egypte, un homme ayant une stature de cinq coudées, et dans la main de l'Égyptien était une lance comme l'ensuble d'un tisserand, et il fondit sur lui avec le bâton, et arracha la lance de la main de l'Égyptien, qu'il tua avec sa lance.
And he slewe an Egyptian, a man of great stature, euen fiue cubites long, and in the Egyptians hand was a speare like a weauers beame: and he went downe to him with a staffe, and plucked the speare out of the Egyptians hand, and slewe him with his owne speare.
24 Tels sont les faits de Benaïa, fils de Joiada, et il avait avec un nom entre les Trois héros.
These things did Benaiah ye sonne of Iehoiada, and had the name among the three worthies.
25 Voici, il était honoré par les trente, mais il n'atteignait pas aux trois premiers. Et David le mit à la tête de sa garde du corps.
Behold, he was honourable among thirtie, but he attained not vnto the first three. And Dauid made him of his counsell.
26 Et les chefs des ces corps d'armée étaient: Asahel, frère de Joab; Elchanam fils de Dodo, de Bethléhem;
These also were valiant men of warre, Asahel the brother of Ioab, Elhanan the sonne of Dodo of Beth-lehem,
27 Sammoth l'Harorite; Hélets, le Pelonite;
Shammoth the Harodite, Helez the Pelonite,
28 Ira, fils de Ickesch de Thékôa; Abiézer, d'Anatoth;
Ira the sonne of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,
29 Sibchaï le Husathite; Ilaï l'Ahohite;
Sibbecai the Husathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
30 Maheraï de Nétophah; de Héled, fils de Baëna, de Nétophah;
Maharai the Netophathite, Heled ye sonne of Baanah the Netophathite,
31 Ithaï, fils de Ribaï, de Gibea des Benjaminites; Benaïa, de Piratheon;
Ithai the sonne of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Beniamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
32 Huraï de Nahalei-Gaas; Abiel de Arba;
Hurai of the riuers of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
33 Azmaveth, le Baherumite; Elihaba, de Saalbon;
Azmaueth the Baharumite, Elihaba the Shaalbonite,
34 Benei-Hasem, de Gizon; Jonathan, fils de Sagè, de Harar;
The sonnes of Hashem the Gizonite, Ionathan the sonne of Shageh the Harite,
35 Hahiam, fils de Sachar, de Harar; Eliphal, fils de Hur;
Ahiam the sonne of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the sonne of Vr,
36 Hépher, de Mechébaï; Ahia, le Pelonite;
Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahiiah the Pelonite,
37 Hetsro, le Carmélite; Naaraï, fils de Ezbaï;
Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the sonne of Ezbai,
38 Joël, frère de Nathan; Mibehar, fils de Hagri;
Ioel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the sonne of Haggeri,
39 Tsélec, l'Ammonite; Naheraï, le Bérothite, écuyer de Joab, fils de Tseruïa;
Zelek the Ammonite, Nahrai the Berothite, the armour bearer of Ioab, the sonne of Zeruiah,
40 Irah, de Jéther; Gareb, de Jéther;
Ira the Ithrite, Garib the Ithrite,
41 Uria le Héthien; Zabad, fils de Ahelaï;
Vriah the Hittite, Zabad the sonne of Ahlai,
42 Adina, fils de Siza, le Rubénite, chef des Rubénites, suivi de trente hommes;
Adina the sonne of Shiza the Reubenite, a captaine of the Reubenites, and thirtie with him,
43 Hanan, fils de Maëcha, et Josaphat, le Mithenite;
Hanan the sonne of Maachah, and Ioshaphat the Mithnite,
44 Uzzia d'Astherah; Sama et Jehiel, fils de Hotham d'Aroër;
Vzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Ieiel the sonnes of Otham the Aroerite,
45 Jediael, fils de Simri, et Joha, son frère, le Thitsite;
Iediael the sonne of Shimri, and Ioha his brother the Tizite,
46 Eliel de Mahevim; Jeribaï et Josavia, fils d'Elnaam; et Jithma, le Moabite;
Eliel the Mahauite, and Ieribai and Ioshauiah the sonnes of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,
47 Eliel et Obed et Jaësiel-Hammetsobaïa.
Eliel and Obed, and Iaasiel the Mesobaite.
