Psaumes 64

1 O Dieu, écoute ma voix quand je parle; garantis ma vie contre l'ennemi qui m'épouvante!

For the end, a Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O God, when I make my petition to you; deliver my soul from fear of the enemy.

2 Mets-moi à couvert du complot des méchants, du tumulte des ouvriers d'iniquité;

You have sheltered me from the conspiracy of them that do wickedly; from the multitude of them that work iniquity;

3 Qui aiguisent leur langue comme une épée, qui ajustent comme une flèche leur parole amère,

who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;

4 Pour tirer en secret sur l'innocent; ils tirent soudain contre lui, et n'ont point de crainte.

to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear.

5 Ils s'affermissent dans un mauvais dessein; ils ne parlent que de cacher des pièges; ils disent: Qui le verra?

They have set up for themselves an evil matter, they have given counsel to hide snares; they have said, Who shall see them?

6 Ils inventent des fraudes: Nous voilà prêts; le plan est formé! Et leur pensée secrète, le cœur de chacun est un abîme.

They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heart is deep,

7 Mais Dieu leur lance une flèche; soudain les voilà frappés.

and God shall be exalted, their wounds were [caused by] the weapon of the foolish children,

8 Ceux que leur langue attaquait, les ont renversés; tous ceux qui les voient hochent la tête.

and their tongues have set him at nothing, all that saw them were troubled;

9 Les hommes sont tous saisis de crainte; ils racontent l'œuvre de Dieu, et considèrent ce qu'il a fait.

and every man was alarmed, and they related the works of God, and understood his deeds.

10 Le juste se réjouira en l'Éternel, et se retirera vers lui; tous ceux qui ont le cœur droit s'en glorifieront.

The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and hope on him, and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
