Psaumes 6

1 Éternel, ne me reprends pas dans ton indignation, et ne me châtie pas dans ta colère.

“For the leader of the music; to be accompanied with stringed instruments; to the octave. A psalm of David.” O LORD! rebuke me not in thine anger; Chasten me not in thy hot displeasure!

2 Aie pitié de moi, Éternel! car je suis sans force; Éternel, guéris-moi, car mes os sont tremblants.

Have pity upon me, O LORD! for I am weak; Heal me, O LORD! for my bones tremble!

3 Mon âme aussi est fort troublée; et toi, Éternel, jusques à quand?

My soul, also, is sore troubled; And thou, O LORD! how long—?

4 Reviens, Éternel, délivre mon âme; sauve-moi pour l'amour de ta bonté!

Return, O LORD! and deliver me; Oh, save me according to thy mercy!

5 Car dans la mort on ne se souvient point de toi; qui te célébrera dans le Sépulcre? (Sheol h7585)

For in death no praise is given to thee; In the underworld who can give thee thanks? (Sheol h7585)

6 Je m'épuise à gémir; chaque nuit je baigne ma couche de pleurs, je trempe mon lit de mes larmes.

I am weary with my groaning; All the night I make my bed to swim, And drench my couch with my tears.

7 Mon visage est tout défait de chagrin; il dépérit à cause de tous mes ennemis.

Mine eye is wasted with grief; It hath become old because of all my enemies.

8 Éloignez-vous de moi, vous tous, ouvriers d'iniquité! Car l'Éternel a entendu la voix de mes pleurs.

Depart from me, all ye that do iniquity; For the LORD heareth the voice of my weeping.

9 L'Éternel a entendu ma supplication, l'Éternel reçoit ma prière.

The LORD heareth my supplication; The LORD accepteth my prayer.

10 Tous mes ennemis seront confus et saisis d'effroi; ils reculeront, ils seront soudain couverts de honte.

All my enemies shall be ashamed and utterly confounded; They shall be turned back, and put to shame suddenly.
