Psaumes 5
1 Prête l'oreille à mes paroles, ô Éternel, entends mon gémissement!
For the end, a Psalm of David, concerning her that inherits. Listen to my words, O Lord, attend to my cry.
2 Mon roi et mon Dieu, sois attentif à la voix de mon cri, car c'est toi que je prie!
Attend to the voice of my supplication, my King, and my God: for to you, O Lord, will I pray.
3 Éternel, dès le matin tu entends ma voix; dès le matin je me tourne vers toi, et je regarde.
In the morning you shall hear my voice: in the morning will I wait upon you, and will look up.
4 Car tu n'es pas un Dieu qui prenne plaisir à l'iniquité; le méchant n'habitera point avec toi.
For you are not a god that desires iniquity; neither shall the worker of wickedness dwell with you.
5 Les hommes superbes ne subsisteront pas devant tes yeux; tu hais tous les ouvriers d'iniquité.
Neither shall the transgressors continue in your sight: you hate, O Lord, all them that work iniquity.
6 Tu feras périr ceux qui profèrent le mensonge; l'Éternel a en abomination l'homme de sang et de fraude.
You will destroy all that speak falsehood: the Lord abhors the bloody and deceitful man.
7 Mais moi, dans l'abondance de ta grâce, j'entrerai dans ta maison, je me prosternerai dans ton saint temple, avec crainte.
But I will enter into your house in the multitude of your mercy: I will worship in your fear towards your holy temple.
8 Éternel, conduis-moi par ta justice, à cause de mes ennemis; aplanis ta voie devant moi.
Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of mine enemies; make my way plain before your face.
9 Car il n'y a point de sincérité dans leur bouche; leur cœur n'est que malice, leur gosier est un tombeau ouvert; ils flattent avec leur langue.
For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain; their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit.
10 Condamne-les, ô Dieu! Qu'ils échouent dans leurs desseins; renverse-les à cause de la multitude de leurs crimes; car ils se sont révoltés contre toi.
Judge them, O God; let them fail of their counsels: cast them out according to the abundance of their ungodliness; for they have provoked you, O Lord.
11 Mais que tous ceux qui se retirent vers toi se réjouissent! qu'ils chantent de joie à jamais! Sois leur protecteur, et que ceux qui aiment ton nom, triomphent en toi!
But let all that trust on you be glad in you: they shall exult for ever, and you shall dwell amongst them; and all that love your name shall rejoice in you.
12 Car toi, Éternel, tu bénis le juste; tu l'environnes de ta bienveillance comme d'un bouclier.
For you, Lord, shall bless the righteous: you have compassed us as with a shield of favour.
