Psaumes 35
1 Psaume de David. Éternel, défends-moi contre mes adversaires; combats ceux qui me combattent!
Yahweh, fight against those who fight against me! Fight against [my enemies] when they fight me!
2 Prends l'écu et le bouclier, et lève-toi pour me secourir!
Be [like] a shield [DOU] to protect me and come to help me!
3 Saisis la lance, barre le passage à ceux qui me poursuivent; dis à mon âme: Je suis ton salut.
Lift up your spear [DOU] and [throw it] at those who pursue me! Promise me that you will enable me to defeat [my enemies].
4 Qu'ils soient honteux et confus, ceux qui en veulent à ma vie; qu'ils reculent et qu'ils rougissent, ceux qui méditent mon malheur!
Cause those who are trying to kill me to be defeated and disgraced! Cause those who are planning to do evil things to me to be pushed back and become confused!
5 Qu'ils soient comme la paille livrée au vent, et que l'ange de l'Éternel les chasse!
Send your angel to pursue them, and as a result cause them to disappear like chaff/straw blown away by the wind!
6 Que leur chemin soit ténébreux et glissant, et que l'ange de l'Éternel les poursuive!
Cause the path on which they run to be dark and slippery as your angel pursues them!
7 Car sans cause ils m'ont tendu leur filet sur une fosse; sans cause ils l'ont creusée pour m'ôter la vie.
Although I did not do anything wrong to them, they concealed a deep pit for me to fall into; they hid a net in which they would catch me.
8 Qu'une ruine imprévue l'atteigne! Qu'il soit pris au filet qu'il a caché! Qu'il y tombe et qu'il périsse!
Cause them to suddenly experience disaster! Cause them to be trapped in their own nets! Cause them to fall into the pits that they have dug for me and disappear!
9 Et mon âme s'égaiera en l'Éternel, et se réjouira de sa délivrance.
Then I will be joyful about what you, Yahweh, have done for me, I will be glad that you have rescued me.
10 Tous mes os diront: Éternel, qui est semblable à toi, qui délivres l'affligé de celui qui est plus fort que lui, l'affligé et le pauvre de celui qui le dépouille?
With my whole inner being [SYN] I will say, “There is no one like Yahweh [RHQ]! No one else can rescue helpless people from powerful people [RHQ]. No one else can rescue weak and needy people from those who want to rob them.”
11 De faux témoins se lèvent; ils me demandent des choses dont je ne sais rien.
People who tell lies stand in court and falsely accuse me of doing things that I do not know [anything] about.
12 Ils me rendent le mal pour le bien; mon âme est dans l'abandon.
In return for my doing good things for them, they do evil things to me, with the result that I feel that I am alone.
13 Mais moi, quand ils étaient malades, je me couvrais d'un sac, j'affligeais mon âme par le jeûne, et ma prière revenait sur mon sein.
When they were ill, I showed that I was sad. I did not eat any food, and I bowed my head as I prayed [for them].
14 Je marchais lentement comme pour le deuil d'un ami, d'un frère; j'allais courbé tristement comme au deuil d'une mère.
I mourned and bowed my head as I prayed as though it was a friend or my mother for whom I was grieving.
15 Mais quand j'ai chancelé, ils se sont rassemblés joyeux; ils se sont rassemblés, me frappant à mon insu, me déchirant sans cesse.
But when I had troubles, they were all happy about it. They gathered around to make fun of me. Strangers struck me, and they would not stop.
16 Avec des impies, des bouffons de table, ils grincent les dents contre moi.
Worthless people ridicule me and snarl at me.
17 Seigneur, jusques à quand le verras-tu? Délivre mon âme de leurs violences; arrache au lion mon unique bien!
Yahweh, how long will you only watch them doing this? Rescue me from their attacking me; Save me from being killed by these men who are attacking me like [MET] lions [that are attacking other animals]
18 Je te célébrerai dans la grande assemblée; je te louerai au milieu d'un peuple nombreux.
Then, when many of your people gather, I will praise you and I will thank you in front of all of them.
19 Que mes injustes ennemis ne se réjouissent point à mon sujet; que ceux qui me haïssent sans cause ne clignent pas l'œil!
Do not allow my enemies, who tell lies about me, defeat me and then rejoice! Do not allow those who hate me when there in no reason to hate me to (smirk/smile happily)!
20 Car ils ne parlent point de paix, mais ils méditent des tromperies contre les gens paisibles du pays.
They do not talk peacefully to people; instead, they seek ways to tell lies about people who are peaceful.
21 Ils ont ouvert contre moi leur bouche, disant: Ah! ah! notre œil a vu!
They shout at me, to accuse me, saying, “We saw the wrong things that you did!”
22 Tu l'as vu, Éternel; ne te tais point!
Yahweh, you have seen these things, so do not be silent! Do not stay far from me!
23 Seigneur, ne sois pas loin de moi! Réveille-toi, lève-toi pour me faire droit, mon Dieu, mon Seigneur, pour défendre ma cause!
Arise, my God, and plead my case in court, and successfully defend me!
24 Juge-moi selon ta justice, Éternel mon Dieu, et qu'ils ne se réjouissent point de moi!
Yahweh, my God, because you are righteous, prove that I am innocent in order that my enemies will not be able to gloat [that I was judged to be guilty].
25 Qu'ils ne disent pas en leur cœur: Ah! notre âme est contente! Qu'ils ne disent pas: Nous l'avons englouti!
Do not allow them to be able to say to themselves, “Yes, we have gotten rid of him [IDM] just like we desired!”
26 Qu'ils soient honteux et confus, tous ceux qui se réjouissent de mon mal! Qu'ils soient revêtus de honte et de confusion, ceux qui s'élèvent fièrement contre moi!
Cause those who rejoice about my misfortunes to be completely defeated and disgraced; cause those who boast that they are much greater than me to be disgraced and dishonored!
27 Que ceux qui prennent plaisir à ma justice chantent et se réjouissent! Et que sans cesse ils disent: Magnifié soit l'Éternel, qui se plaît à la prospérité de son serviteur!
But cause those who desire that I be acquitted to be happy and shout joyfully, and cause them to continually say, “Yahweh is great! He is delighted to cause things to go well for those who serve him.”
28 Alors ma langue racontera ta justice, et tous les jours elle dira tes louanges.
Then I will proclaim that you act righteously, and I will praise you all day long.
