Psaumes 24

1 Psaume de David. La terre appartient à l'Éternel, et ce qu'elle contient, le monde et ceux qui l'habitent.

“Of David a psalm.” Unto the Lord belongeth the earth with what filleth it, the world and they that dwell therein;

2 Car il l'a fondée au-dessus des mers, et l'a affermie au-dessus des fleuves.

For upon seas hath he founded it, and upon rivers hath he established it.

3 Qui pourra monter à la montagne de l'Éternel? Et qui se tiendra dans le lieu de sa sainteté?

Who shall ascend into the mountain of the Lord? and who shall be able to stand in his holy place?

4 C'est l'homme qui a les mains nettes et le cœur pur, dont l'âme ne se porte pas vers la fausseté, et qui ne jure pas pour tromper.

He that is of clean hands, and pure of heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, and hath not sworn deceitfully:

5 Il recevra la bénédiction de l'Éternel, et la justice de Dieu, son Sauveur.

He shall bear away blessing from the Lord, and [the reward of] righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 Telle est la race de ceux qui le cherchent, de ceux qui recherchent ta face, la race de Jacob. (Sélah)

This is the generation of those that adore him, that seek thy presence, [the sons of] Jacob. (Selah)

7 Portes, élevez vos linteaux! Haussez-vous, portes éternelles, et le roi de gloire entrera.

Raise your heads, O ye gates; and be raised wide, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

8 Qui est ce roi de gloire? L'Éternel, le fort, le puissant, l'Éternel puissant dans les combats.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Portes, élevez vos linteaux! Élevez-les, portes éternelles, et le roi de gloire entrera.

Raise your heads, O ye gates; and raise [them] up, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

10 Qui est-il, ce roi de gloire? L'Éternel des armées; c'est lui qui est le roi de gloire! (Sélah)

Who is then this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)
