Galates 6
1 Frères, si un homme a été surpris en quelque faute, vous qui êtes spirituels, redressez-le dans un esprit de douceur. Prends garde à toi-même, de peur que tu ne sois aussi tenté.
My friends, even if someone should be caught committing a sin, you who are spiritually minded should, in a gentle spirit, help them to recover themselves, taking care that you yourselves are not tempted.
2 Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et accomplissez ainsi la loi de Christ.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so carry out the Law of the Christ.
3 Car, si quelqu'un pense être quelque chose, quoiqu'il ne soit rien, il se séduit lui-même.
If a person imagines themselves to be somebody, when they are really nobody, they deceive themselves.
4 Mais que chacun éprouve ses actions, et alors il aura sujet de se glorifier, pour lui-même seulement, et non par rapport aux autres;
Let everyone test their own work, and then their cause for satisfaction will be in themselves and not in a comparison with their neighbour;
5 Car chacun portera son propre fardeau.
for everyone must bear their own load.
6 Que celui qu'on instruit dans la Parole, fasse part de tous ses biens à celui qui l'instruit.
The person, however, who is being instructed in the message ought always to share their blessings with their teacher.
7 Ne vous abusez point; on ne se joue point de Dieu; car ce que l'homme aura semé, il le moissonnera aussi.
Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. What a person sows that they will reap.
8 Celui qui sème pour sa chair, moissonnera de la chair la corruption; mais celui qui sème pour l'Esprit, moissonnera de l'Esprit la vie éternelle. (aiōnios g166)
For the person who sows the field of their earthly nature will from that earthly nature reap corruption; while the one who sows the field of the spirit will from that spirit reap eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
9 Ne nous lassons point de faire le bien, car nous moissonnerons dans la saison convenable, si nous ne nous relâchons pas.
Let us never tire of doing right, for at the proper season we will reap our harvest, if we do not grow weary.
10 C'est pourquoi, pendant que nous en avons l'occasion, faisons du bien à tous, mais surtout à ceux qui sont de la famille de la foi.
Therefore, I say, as the opportunity occurs, let us treat everyone with kindness, and especially members of the household of the faith.
11 Vous voyez quelle grande lettre je vous ai écrite de ma propre main.

12 Tous ceux qui veulent se rendre agréables, selon la chair, vous contraignent à vous faire circoncire, uniquement afin de n'être pas persécutés pour la croix de Christ.
The people who are trying to compel you to be circumcised are the people who wish to appear to advantage in regard to outward observances. They do it only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Jesus, the Christ
13 Car les circoncis eux-mêmes ne gardent point la loi; mais ils veulent que vous soyez circoncis, afin de se glorifier dans la chair.
Even these men who are circumcised do not themselves keep the Law; yet they want you to be circumcised, so that they may boast of your observance of the rite.
14 Quant à moi, qu'il ne m'arrive pas de me glorifier en autre chose qu'en la croix de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, par laquelle le monde est crucifié pour moi, et moi pour le monde.
But, for my part, may I never boast of anything except the cross of Jesus Christ, our Master, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
15 Car en Jésus-Christ, la circoncision ne sert de rien, ni l'incirconcision; mais la nouvelle naissance.
For neither is circumcision nor the omission of it anything; but a new nature is everything.
16 Et pour tous ceux qui suivront cette règle, que la paix et la miséricorde soient sur eux, et sur l'Israël de Dieu!
May all who rule their conduct by this principle find peace and mercy – they who are the Israel of God.
17 Au reste, que personne ne me prépare de peines, car je porte en mon corps les stigmates du Seigneur Jésus.
For the future let no one trouble me; for I bear the marks of Jesus branded on my body.
18 Frères, que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit! Amen.
May the blessing of Jesus Christ, our Lord, rest on your souls, friends. Amen.
