2 Samuel 5

1 Alors toutes les tribus d'Israël vinrent vers David, à Hébron, et dirent: Voici, nous sommes tes os et ta chair.

And alle the lynagis of Israel camen to Dauid, in Ebron, and seiden, Lo! we ben thi boon and thi fleisch.

2 Et même auparavant, quand Saül était roi sur nous, c'est toi qui faisais sortir et qui ramenais Israël; et l'Éternel t'a dit: C'est toi qui paîtras mon peuple d'Israël, et qui seras le conducteur d'Israël.

But also yistirdai and the thridde day ago, whanne Saul was kyng on vs, thou leddist out, and leddist ayen Israel; forsothe the Lord seide to thee, Thou schalt fede my puple Israel, and thou schalt be duyk on Israel.

3 Tous les anciens d'Israël vinrent donc vers le roi à Hébron; et le roi David fit alliance avec eux à Hébron devant l'Éternel; et ils oignirent David pour roi sur Israël.

Also and the eldere men of Israel camen to the kyng, in Ebron; and kyng Dauid smoot with hem boond of pees in Ebron, bifor the Lord; and thei anoyntiden Dauid in to kyng on Israel.

4 David était âgé de trente ans, quand il commença à régner, et il régna quarante ans;

Dauid was a sone of thretti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde fourti yeer in Ebron;

5 Il régna sur Juda à Hébron sept ans et six mois; puis il régna trente trois ans à Jérusalem, sur tout Israël et Juda.

he regnede on Juda seuene yeer and sixe monethis; forsothe in Jerusalem he regnede thretti and thre yeer, on al Israel and Juda.

6 Or, le roi marcha avec ses gens sur Jérusalem, contre les Jébusiens qui habitaient en ce pays-là; et ils dirent à David: Tu n'entreras point ici que tu n'aies ôté les aveugles et les boiteux; voulant dire: David n'entrera point ici.

And the kyng yede, and alle men that weren with hym, in to Jerusalem, to Jebusey, dweller of the lond. And it was seide of hem to Dauid, Thou schalt not entre hidur, no but thou do awei blynde men and lame, seiynge, Dauid schal not entre hydur.

7 Mais David prit la forteresse de Sion; c'est la cité de David.

Forsothe Dauid took the tour of Syon; this is the citee of Dauid.

8 Et David dit en ce jour-là: Quiconque aura battu les Jébusiens, et aura atteint le canal, et ces boiteux et ces aveugles qui sont les ennemis de David, sera récompensé. C'est pourquoi l'on dit: Ni aveugle ni boiteux n'entrera dans cette maison.

For Dauid hadde `sette forth meede in that dai to hym, that hadde smyte Jebusei, and hadde touchid the goteris of roouys, and hadde take awey lame men and blynde, hatynge the lijf of Dauid. Therfor it is seid in prouerbe, A blynde man and lame schulen not entre in to the temple.

9 Et David habita dans la forteresse, et l'appela la cité de David; et il bâtit tout à l'entour depuis Millo jusqu'au-dedans.

Forsothe Dauid dwellide in the tour, and clepide it the citee of Dauid; and he bildide bi cumpas fro Mello, and with ynne.

10 Et David allait toujours avançant et croissant; et l'Éternel, le Dieu des armées, était avec lui.

And he entride profitynge and encreessynge; and the Lord God of oostis was with hym.

11 Et Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya à David des ambassadeurs, avec du bois de cèdre et des charpentiers et des tailleurs de pierres; et ils bâtirent la maison de David.

Also Hyram, kyng of Tire, sent messangeris to Dauid, and cedre trees, and crafti men of trees, and crafti men of stoonus to wallis; and thei bildiden the hows of Dauid.

12 Alors David reconnut que l'Éternel l'avait affermi comme roi sur Israël, et qu'il avait élevé son royaume, à cause de son peuple d'Israël.

And Dauid knew, that the Lord hadde confermed hym kyng on Israel, and that he hadde enhaunsid his rewme on his puple Israel.

13 Or David prit encore des concubines et des femmes de Jérusalem, après qu'il fut venu d'Hébron; et il lui naquit encore des fils et des filles.

Therfor Dauid took yit concubyns, and wyues of Jerusalem, after that he cam fro Ebron; and also othere sones and douytris weren borun to Dauid.

14 Ce sont ici les noms de ceux qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Salomon,

And these ben the names of hem that weren borun to hym in Jerusalem; Samua, and Sobab, and Nathan,

15 Jibhar, Élishua, Népheg, Japhia,

and Salomon, and Jobaar, and Helisua,

16 Élishama, Eljada et Éliphélet.

and Repheg, and Japhia, and Helysama, and Holida, and Heliphelech.

17 Mais quand les Philistins eurent appris qu'on avait oint David pour roi sur Israël, ils montèrent tous pour attaquer David; et David, l'ayant appris, descendit à la forteresse.

Therfor Filisteis herden, that thei hadden anoyntid Dauid kyng on Israel, and alle Filisteis stieden to seke Dauid. And whanne Dauid hadde herd this, he yede doun into a strong hold.

18 Et les Philistins vinrent, et se répandirent dans la vallée des Géants.

Forsothe Filisteis camen, and weren spred abrood in the valei of Raphaym.

19 Alors David consulta l'Éternel, en disant: Monterai-je contre les Philistins? les livreras-tu entre mes mains? Et l'Éternel répondit à David: Monte; car, certainement je livrerai les Philistins entre tes mains.

And Dauid counseilide the Lord, and seide, Whether Y schal stie to Filisties, and whether thou schalt yyue hem in myn hond? And the Lord seide to Dauid, Stie thou, for Y schal bitake, and Y schal yyue Filisteis in thin hond.

20 Alors David vint à Baal-Pératsim, où il les battit; et il dit: L'Éternel a fait écouler mes ennemis devant moi, comme des eaux qui s'écoulent. C'est pourquoi il nomma ce lieu Baal-Pératsim (lieu des ruptures).

Therfor Dauid cam in to Baal Farasym, and smoot hem there, and seide, The Lord departide myn enemyes bifor me, as watris ben departid. Therfor the name of that place was clepid Baal Farasym.

21 Et ils laissèrent même là leurs idoles, que David et ses gens emportèrent.

And thei leften there her sculptils, whiche Dauid took, and hise men.

22 Puis les Philistins montèrent encore une fois, et ils se répandirent dans la vallée des Géants;

And Filisteis addiden yit, that thei schulden stie, and thei weren spred abrood in the valey of Raphaym.

23 Et David consulta l'Éternel, qui répondit: Tu ne monteras pas; tu les tourneras par derrière, et tu iras contre eux vis-à-vis des mûriers.

Sotheli Dauid councelide the Lord, and seide, Whether Y schal stie agens Filisties, and whether thou schalt bitake hem in to myn hondis? Which answeride, Thou schalt not stie ayens hem, but cumpasse thou bihynde her bak, and thou schalt come to hem on the contrarie side of the pere trees.

24 Et quand tu entendras un bruit de pas au sommet des mûriers, alors hâte-toi; car alors l'Éternel sortira devant toi pour frapper le camp des Philistins.

And whanne thou schalt here the sown of cry goynge in the cop of `pere trees, thanne thou schalt biginne batel; for thanne the Lord schal go out befor thi face, that he smyte the castels of Filisteis.

25 David fit donc ce que l'Éternel lui avait commandé; et il battit les Philistins depuis Guéba jusqu'à Guézer.

Therfor Dauid dide as the Lord comaundide to hym; and he smoot Filisteys fro Gabaa til `the while thei camen to Jezer.
