2 Samuel 17
1 Puis Achithophel dit à Absalom: Je choisirai maintenant douze mille hommes, et je me lèverai, et je poursuivrai David cette nuit.
And he said Ahithophel to Absalom let me choose please two [plus] ten thousand man and I will arise and I will pursue after David this night.
2 Et je me jetterai sur lui pendant qu'il est fatigué et que ses mains sont affaiblies; et je l'épouvanterai tellement que tout le peuple qui est avec lui s'enfuira, et je frapperai le roi seul.
So I may come on him and he [will be] weary and slack of hands and I will terrify him and will flee all the people which [is] with him and I will strike down the king to only him.
3 Et je ferai revenir à toi tout le peuple; car l'homme que tu cherches vaut autant que si tous retournaient à toi; et tout le peuple sera en paix.
And I will bring back all the people to you as returns everything the man whom you [are] seeking all the people it will be peace.
4 Cet avis fut approuvé par Absalom et par tous les anciens d'Israël.
And it was pleasing the word in [the] eyes of Absalom and in [the] eyes of all [the] elders of Israel.
5 Mais Absalom dit: Qu'on appelle aussi Cushaï, l'Arkite, et que nous entendions ce qu'il dira, lui aussi.
And he said Absalom summon please also Hushai the Arkite so let us hear what? [is] in mouth his also he.
6 Et Cushaï étant venu vers Absalom, Absalom lui dit: Achithophel a donné un tel avis; ferons-nous ce qu'il a dit, ou non? Parle, toi aussi.
And he came Hushai to Absalom and he said Absalom to him saying according to the word this he has spoken Ahithophel ¿ will we do word his if not you speak.
7 Alors Cushaï dit à Absalom: Le conseil qu'Achithophel a donné cette fois, n'est pas bon.
And he said Hushai to Absalom not [is] good the counsel which he has counseled Ahithophel at the time this.
8 Et Cushaï dit: Tu connais ton père et ses gens; ce sont des hommes vaillants, et ils ont le cœur exaspéré, comme dans les champs une ourse à qui on a pris ses petits; et même ton père est un homme de guerre, qui ne passera point la nuit avec le peuple.
And he said Hushai you you know father your and men his that [are] warriors they and [are] bitter of soul they like a bear robbed of cubs in the field and father your [is] a man of war and not he will pass [the] night with the people.
9 Voici, il est maintenant caché dans quelque fosse ou dans quelque autre lieu. S'il arrive qu'on soit battu par eux au commencement, quiconque en entendra parler, dira: Le peuple qui suit Absalom a été défait.
There! now he [has] hidden himself in one of the ravines or in one of the places and it will be when falls among them at the first and he will hear the [one who] hears and he will say it has been a slaughter among the people which [is] after Absalom.
10 Et fût-ce un homme vaillant, eût-il un cœur de lion, le courage lui manquera; car tout Israël sait que ton père est un homme vaillant, et que ceux qui sont avec lui, sont des braves.
And he also a son of strength whom heart his [is] like [the] heart of lion surely he will melt for [is] knowing all Israel that [is] a warrior father your and [are] sons of strength who [are] with him.
11 Mais je suis d'avis qu'autour de toi se rassemble tout Israël, depuis Dan jusqu'à Béer-Shéba, nombreux comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer, et qu'en personne tu marches au combat.
For I counsel certainly let it be gathered to you all Israel from Dan and to Beer Sheba like the sand which [is] at the sea for multitude and face your [will be] going in the battle.
12 Et nous viendrons à lui en quelque lieu qu'il se trouve, et nous fondrons sur lui comme la rosée tombe sur la terre; et de lui et de tous ceux qui sont avec lui, il ne restera pas un seul homme.
And we will come against him (in one of *Q(k)*) the places where he is found there and we will set on him when it will fall the dew on the ground and not we will leave among him and among all the men who [are] with him also one.
13 Que s'il se retire en quelque ville, tout Israël portera des cordes vers cette ville-là, et nous la traînerons jusqu'au torrent, en sorte qu'on n'en trouvera plus même une pierre.
And if into a city he will be gathered and they will cause to bring all Israel to the city that ropes and we will drag him to the wadi until that not it has been found there also a pebble.
14 Alors Absalom et tous les hommes d'Israël dirent: Le conseil de Cushaï, l'Arkite, vaut mieux que le conseil d'Achithophel. Car l'Éternel avait décrété de dissiper le conseil d'Achithophel, qui était bon, afin de faire venir le mal sur Absalom.
And he said Absalom and every man of Israel [is] good [the] counsel of Hushai the Arkite more than [the] counsel of Ahithophel and Yahweh he had commanded to frustrate [the] counsel of Ahithophel good in order to bring Yahweh to Absalom calamity.
15 Alors Cushaï dit aux sacrificateurs Tsadok et Abiathar: Achithophel a donné tel et tel conseil à Absalom et aux anciens d'Israël; mais moi j'ai donné tel et tel conseil.
And he said Hushai to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests like this and like this he has counseled Ahithophel Absalom and [the] elders of Israel and like this and like this I have counseled I.
16 Maintenant donc envoyez promptement, et faites-le savoir à David, et dites-lui: Ne demeure point cette nuit dans les campagnes du désert, et même ne manque point de passer plus avant, de peur que le roi et tout le peuple qui est avec lui, ne périsse.
And therefore send quickly and tell to David saying may not you pass [the] night this night at [the] desert plains of the wilderness and also certainly you will pass over lest it should be swallowed up to the king and to all the people which [is] with him.
17 Or Jonathan et Achimaats se tenaient à En-Roguel (la fontaine du foulon), et une servante vint les avertir pour qu'ils allassent le rapporter au roi David; car ils ne pouvaient se montrer, en entrant dans la ville.
And Jonathan and Ahimaaz [were] staying at En Rogel and she went the maidservant and she told to them and they they went and they told to the king David for not they were able to be seen to go the city towards.
18 Mais un garçon les vit, et le rapporta à Absalom. Cependant ils s'en allèrent tous deux en hâte, et vinrent à Bachurim, à la maison d'un homme qui avait dans sa cour un puits, où ils descendirent.
And he saw them a young man and he told to Absalom and they went [the] two of them quickly and they came - to [the] house of a man in Bahurim and [belonged] to him a well in courtyard his and they went down there.
19 Et la femme prit une couverture, et l'étendit sur l'ouverture du puits, et y répandit du grain pilé, en sorte qu'on n'y reconnut rien.
And she took the woman and she spread out the covering on [the] face of the well and she spread on it the grain[s] and not it was known anything.
20 Et les serviteurs d'Absalom vinrent vers cette femme, dans la maison, et lui dirent: Où sont Achimaats et Jonathan? Et la femme leur répondit: Ils ont passé le gué de l'eau. Les ayant donc cherchés, et ne les ayant point trouvés, ils s'en retournèrent à Jérusalem.
And they came [the] servants of Absalom to the woman the house towards and they said where? [are] Ahimaaz and Jonathan and she said to them the woman they have passed over [the] brook of water and they sought [them] and not they found [them] and they returned Jerusalem.
21 Et après leur départ, Achimaats et Jonathan remontèrent du puits, et s'en allèrent, et firent leur rapport au roi David, en lui disant: Levez-vous, et hâtez-vous de passer l'eau, car Achithophel a donné tel conseil contre vous.
And it was - after had gone they and they came up from the well and they went and they told to the king David and they said to David arise and pass over quickly the water for thus he has counseled on you Ahithophel.
22 Alors David se leva, et tout le peuple qui était avec lui, et ils passèrent le Jourdain; et au point du jour il n'en restait pas un qui n'eût passé le Jourdain.
And he arose David and all the people which [was] with him and they passed over the Jordan until [the] light of the morning up to one [person] not [was] missing who not he had passed over the Jordan.
23 Or Achithophel, voyant qu'on n'avait point fait ce qu'il avait conseillé, sella son âne, se leva et s'en alla en sa maison, dans sa ville; et après qu'il eut mis ordre à sa maison, il s'étrangla et mourut; et il fut enseveli dans le tombeau de son père.
And Ahithophel he saw that not it was done counsel his and he saddled the donkey and he arose and he went to house his to city his and he commanded concerning household his and he hanged himself and he died and he was buried in [the] tomb of father his.
24 Cependant David arriva à Mahanaïm; et Absalom passa le Jourdain, lui et tous les gens d'Israël avec lui.
And David he had gone Mahanaim towards and Absalom he had passed over the Jordan he and every man of Israel with him.
25 Et Absalom établit Amasa sur l'armée, à la place de Joab. Or, Amasa était fils d'un homme nommé Jithra, Israélite, qui était entré vers Abigaïl, fille de Nachash, et sœur de Tséruja, mère de Joab.
And Amasa he had appointed Absalom in place of Joab over the army and Amasa [was] a son of a man and name his [was] Jether the Israelite who he had gone into Abigail [the] daughter of Nahash [the] sister of Zeruiah [the] mother of Joab.
26 Et Israël campa avec Absalom au pays de Galaad.
And it encamped Israel and Absalom [the] land of Gilead.
27 Et lorsque David fut arrivé à Mahanaïm, Shobi, fils de Nachash, qui était de Rabba des enfants d'Ammon, et Makir, fils d'Ammiel de Lodébar, et Barzillaï, Galaadite, de Roguélim,
And it was when came David Mahanaim towards and Shobi [the] son of Nahash from Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon and Makir [the] son of Ammiel from Lo Debar and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim.
28 Apportèrent à David et au peuple qui était avec lui, des lits, des bassins, des vases de terre, du froment, de l'orge, de la farine, du grain rôti, des fèves, des lentilles, et d'autres grains rôtis,
Bed[s] and basins and a vessel of a potter and wheat and barley and flour and roasted grain and bean[s] and lentils and roasted grain.
29 Du miel, du beurre, des brebis, et des fromages de vache, pour se nourrir; car ils disaient: Ce peuple est affamé; il est las, et il a soif dans ce désert.
And honey and curd and sheep and cheese of [the] herd they brought for David and for the people which [was] with him to eat for they said the people [is] hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.
