2 Chroniques 6

1 Alors Salomon dit: L'Éternel a dit qu'il habiterait dans l'obscurité.

Then he said Solomon Yahweh he has said to dwell in thick darkness.

2 Et moi, j'ai bâti une maison pour ta demeure, et un domicile afin que tu y habites à toujours!

And I I have built a house of loftiness for you and a place to dwell in you forever.

3 Puis le roi tourna son visage, et bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël était debout.

And he turned the king face his and he blessed all [the] assembly of Israel and all [the] assembly of Israel [was] standing.

4 Et il dit: Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui de sa bouche a parlé à David, mon père, et qui, de sa main, a accompli ce qu'il avait promis en disant:

And he said [be] blessed Yahweh [the] God of Israel who he spoke with mouth his with David father my and by hands his he has fulfilled saying.

5 Depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir mon peuple du pays d'Égypte, je n'ai point choisi de ville entre toutes les tribus d'Israël pour y bâtir une maison, afin que mon nom y fût, et je n'ai point choisi d'homme pour être chef de mon peuple d'Israël.

Since the day when I brought out people my from [the] land of Egypt not I have chosen a city from all [the] tribes of Israel to build a house to be name my there and not I have chosen a person to be ruler over people my Israel.

6 Mais j'ai choisi Jérusalem pour que mon nom y fût, et j'ai choisi David pour qu'il régnât sur mon peuple d'Israël.

And I have chosen Jerusalem to be name my there and I have chosen David to be over people my Israel.

7 Or David, mon père, avait dessein de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

And it was with [the] heart of David father my to build a house for [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.

8 Mais l'Éternel dit à David, mon père: Puisque tu as eu le dessein de bâtir une maison à mon nom, tu as bien fait de former ce dessein.

And he said Yahweh to David father my because that it was with heart your to build a house for name my you did well for it was with heart your.

9 Seulement ce n'est pas toi qui bâtiras cette maison; mais c'est ton fils, issu de toi, qui bâtira cette maison à mon nom.

Only you not you will build the house for son your who comes out from loins your he he will build the house for name my.

10 L'Éternel a donc accompli la parole qu'il avait prononcée; j'ai succédé à David, mon père, et je me suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'Éternel l'avait dit, et j'ai bâti cette maison au nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

And he has established Yahweh word his which he spoke and I have arisen in place of David father my and I have sat - on [the] throne of Israel just as he spoke Yahweh and I have built the house for [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.

11 Et j'y ai mis l'arche, où est l'alliance de l'Éternel, qu'il a traitée avec les enfants d'Israël.

And I have put there the ark where [is] there [the] covenant of Yahweh which he made with [the] people of Israel.

12 Puis il se plaça devant l'autel de l'Éternel, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et il étendit ses mains.

And he stood before [the] altar of Yahweh before all [the] assembly of Israel and he spread out hands his.

13 Car Salomon avait fait une tribune d'airain, et il l'avait mise au milieu du grand parvis; elle était longue de cinq coudées, large de cinq coudées, et haute de trois coudées; il s'y plaça, se mit à genoux, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et, étendant ses mains vers les cieux, il dit:

For he had made Solomon a platform of bronze and he had put it in [the] middle of the precinct [was] five cubits length its and [was] five cubits breadth its and [was] cubits three height its and he stood on it and he knelt down on knees his before all [the] assembly of Israel and he spread out hands his the heavens towards.

14 O Éternel, Dieu d'Israël! ni dans les cieux, ni sur la terre, il n'y a de Dieu semblable à toi, qui gardes l'alliance et la miséricorde envers tes serviteurs qui marchent de tout leur cœur devant ta face;

And he said O Yahweh [the] God of Israel there not like you [is] a God in the heavens and on the earth [who] keeps the covenant and covenant loyalty to servants your who walk before you with all heart their.

15 Toi qui as tenu à ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui avais promis; et ce que tu as prononcé de ta bouche, tu l'as accompli de ta main, comme il paraît aujourd'hui.

Who you have kept to servant your David father my [that] which you spoke to him and you spoke with mouth your and by hand your you have fulfilled as the day this.

16 Maintenant donc, ô Éternel, Dieu d'Israël! tiens à ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui as promis en disant: Tu ne manqueras jamais devant moi d'un successeur assis sur le trône d'Israël; pourvu que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, pour marcher dans ma loi, comme tu as marché devant ma face.

And now O Yahweh - [the] God of Israel keep to servant your David father my [that] which you spoke to him saying not it will be cut off to you a man from to before me [who] sits on [the] throne of Israel only if they will guard descendants your way their to walk in law my just as you have walked before me.

17 Et maintenant, ô Éternel, Dieu d'Israël! que ta parole, que tu as prononcée à David, ton serviteur, soit ratifiée!

And now O Yahweh [the] God of Israel let it be established word your which you spoke to servant your to David.

18 Mais serait-il vrai que Dieu habitât sur la terre avec les hommes? Voici, les cieux, même les cieux des cieux, ne peuvent te contenir, combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie?

For ¿ really will he dwell God with humankind on earth here! heaven and [the] heavens of the heavens not they will contain you indeed? for the house this which I have built.

19 Toutefois, ô Éternel, mon Dieu! aie égard à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication, pour écouter le cri et la prière que ton serviteur t'adresse.

And you will turn to [the] prayer of servant your and to supplication his O Yahweh God my to listen to the cry of entreaty and to the prayer which servant your [is] praying before you.

20 Que tes yeux soient ouverts, jour et nuit, sur cette maison, sur le lieu où tu as promis de mettre ton nom, exauçant la prière que ton serviteur te fait en ce lieu.

To be eyes your open to the house this by day and night to the place where you have said to put name your there to listen to the prayer which he will pray servant your to the place this.

21 Exauce les supplications de ton serviteur et de ton peuple d'Israël, quand ils prieront en ce lieu; exauce-les des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure; exauce et pardonne!

And you will listen to [the] supplications of servant your and people your Israel which they will pray to the place this and you you will hear from [the] place of dwelling you from the heavens and you will hear and you will forgive.

22 Quand quelqu'un aura péché contre son prochain, et qu'on lui déférera le serment pour le faire jurer, et qu'il viendra prêter serment devant ton autel, dans cette maison;

If he will sin anyone to neighbor his and he will impose on him an oath to put under an oath him and he will come he will swear an oath before altar your in the house this.

23 Toi, écoute des cieux, agis et juge tes serviteurs, en donnant au méchant son salaire, et faisant retomber sa conduite sur sa tête; en justifiant le juste, et lui rendant selon sa justice.

And you - you will hear from the heavens and you will act and you will judge servants your to repay to a guilty [person] to requite conduct his on own head his and to vindicate a righteous [person] to give to him according to righteousness his.

24 Quand ton peuple d'Israël aura été battu par l'ennemi, pour avoir péché contre toi; s'ils retournent à toi, s'ils donnent gloire à ton nom, s'ils t'adressent dans cette maison des prières et des supplications;

And if it will be defeated people your Israel before an enemy for they will sin to you and they will return and they will praise name your and they will pray and they will seek favor before you in the house this.

25 Toi, exauce-les des cieux, et pardonne le péché de ton peuple d'Israël, et ramène-les dans la terre que tu as donnée à eux et à leurs pères.

And you you will hear from the heavens and you will forgive [the] sin of people your Israel and you will bring back them to the land which you gave to them and to ancestors their.

26 Quand les cieux seront fermés, et qu'il n'y aura point de pluie, parce qu'ils auront péché contre toi; s'ils prient en ce lieu, s'ils donnent gloire à ton nom, et s'ils se détournent de leurs péchés, parce que tu les auras affligés;

When are shut up the heavens and not it will be rain for they will sin to you and they will pray to the place this and they will praise name your from sin their they will turn back! for you will afflict them.

27 Toi, exauce-les des cieux, et pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple d'Israël, après que tu leur auras enseigné le bon chemin, par lequel ils doivent marcher; et envoie de la pluie sur la terre que tu as donnée en héritage à ton peuple.

And you - you will hear the heavens and you will forgive [the] sin of servants your and people your Israel that you will direct them to the way good which they will walk in it and you will give rain on land your which you gave to people your for an inheritance.

28 Quand il y aura dans le pays la famine ou la peste, quand il y aura la rouille, la nielle, les sauterelles ou les chenilles, quand les ennemis les assiégeront dans leur pays, dans leurs portes, ou qu'il y aura une plaie, une maladie quelconque;

Famine if it will be in the land pestilence for it will be blight and mildew locust[s] and locust[s] for it will be that he will lay siege to it enemies its in [the] land of gates its any plague and any sickness.

29 Quelque prière, quelque supplication que fasse quelque homme que ce soit de tout ton peuple d'Israël, selon qu'ils auront reconnu chacun sa plaie et sa douleur, et que chacun aura étendu ses mains vers cette maison;

Every prayer every supplication which it will belong to any person and to all people your Israel who they will know everyone own plague his and own pain his and he will spread out hands his to the house this.

30 Toi, exauce-les des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et pardonne; rends à chacun selon toutes ses voies, toi qui connais son cœur; car seul tu connais le cœur des enfants des hommes;

And you you will hear from the heavens [the] place of dwelling you and you will forgive and you will give to the person according to all ways his whom you will know heart his for you to alone you you know [the] heart of [the] children of humankind.

31 Afin qu'ils te craignent, pour marcher dans tes voies, tout le temps qu'ils vivront sur la terre que tu as donnée à nos pères.

So that they may fear you to walk in ways your all the days which they [are] alive on [the] surface of the land which you gave to ancestors our.

32 Et l'étranger lui-même, qui ne sera pas de ton peuple d'Israël, mais qui viendra d'un pays éloigné, à cause de ton grand nom, de ta main forte, et de ton bras étendu; quand il viendra prier dans cette maison,

And also to the foreigner who not [is] one of people your Israel he and he will come - from a land distant for [the] sake of name your great and hand your mighty and arm your outstretched and they will come and they will pray to the house this.

33 Toi, exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et fais tout ce que cet étranger réclamera de toi; afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom, qu'ils te craignent comme ton peuple d'Israël, et sachent que ton nom est invoqué sur cette maison que j'ai bâtie.

And you you will hear from the heavens from [the] place of dwelling you and you will do according to all that he will call out to you the foreigner so that they may know all [the] peoples of the earth name your and to fear you like people your Israel and to know that name your it has been called on the house this which I have built.

34 Quand ton peuple sortira en guerre contre ses ennemis, par le chemin où tu l'auras envoyé; s'ils te prient, en regardant vers cette ville que tu as choisie, et vers cette maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom,

If it will go forth people your for battle on enemies its by the way which you will send them and they will pray to you [the] direction of the city this which you have chosen it and the house which I have built for name your.

35 Exauce des cieux leur prière et leur supplication, et fais-leur droit.

And you will hear from the heavens prayer their and supplication their and you will do justice their.

36 Quand ils auront péché contre toi (car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche), et que, irrité contre eux, tu les auras livrés à leurs ennemis, et que ceux qui les auront pris les auront emmenés captifs en quelque pays, soit au loin, soit au près;

If they will sin to you for there not [is] anyone who not he sins and you will be angry with them and will you deliver up them before an enemy and they will take captive them captors their to a land distant or near.

37 Si, dans le pays où ils seront captifs, ils rentrent en eux-mêmes, et que, se repentant, ils prient dans le pays de leur captivité, en disant: Nous avons péché, nous avons commis l'iniquité, nous avons agi méchamment!

And they will bring back to heart their in the land where they have been taken captive there and they will repent - and they will seek favor to you in [the] land of captivity their saying we have sinned we have done wrong and we have acted wickedly.

38 S'ils retournent à toi de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leur captivité où on les aura emmenés captifs, et s'ils t'adressent leurs prières, en regardant vers leur pays, que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers cette ville que tu as choisie, et vers cette maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom;

And they will return to you with all heart their and with all being their in [the] land of captivity their where they took captive them and they will pray [the] direction of land their which you gave to ancestors their and the city which you have chosen and to the house which I have built for name your.

39 Exauce des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit; pardonne à ton peuple qui aura péché contre toi.

And you will hear from the heavens from [the] place of dwelling you prayer their and supplications their and you will do justice their and you will forgive people your who they have sinned to you.

40 Maintenant, ô mon Dieu! que tes yeux soient ouverts et que tes oreilles soient attentives à la prière faite en ce lieu!

Now O God my let them be please eyes your open and ears your attentive to [the] prayer of the place this.

41 Et maintenant, Éternel Dieu! lève-toi, viens au lieu de ton repos, toi et l'arche de ta force. Éternel Dieu, que tes sacrificateurs soient revêtus de salut, et que tes bien-aimés se réjouissent de leur bonheur!

And now arise! O Yahweh God to resting place your you and [the] ark of strength your priests your O Yahweh God may they be clothed salvation and faithful [people] your may they rejoice in the good.

42 Éternel Dieu, ne repousse pas ton oint; souviens-toi des grâces accordées à David, ton serviteur.

O Yahweh God may not you turn away [the] faces of anointed [one] your remember! [the] covenant loyalti of David servant your.
