Marc 12
1 Il se mit alors à leur parler en paraboles. «Un homme planta une vigne, il l'entoura d'une haie, creusa un pressoir, bâtit une tour, puis il l'afferma à des vignerons et quitta le pays.
And he began to speak unto them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a pit for the winepress, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.
2 Au temps des vendanges, il envoya un serviteur aux vignerons pour recevoir d'eux une part de la récolte;
And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard.
3 mais les vignerons l'ayant pris, le battirent et le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 Le maître leur envoya encore un autre serviteur: ils le frappèrent à la tête et le maltraitèrent indignement.
And again he sent unto them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and handled shamefully.
5 Il en envoya un troisième, qu'ils tuèrent; et ils en maltraitèrent beaucoup d'autres, battant les uns, tuant les autres.
And he sent another; and him they killed: and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 Le maître avait encore un fils unique, un fils bien-aimé, il le leur envoya le dernier, se disant: «Ils respecteront mon fils.»
He had yet one, a beloved son: he sent him last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7 Mais ces vignerons se dirent entre eux: «C'est l'héritier; venez, tuons-le, et l'héritage sera à nous.»
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
8 Là-dessus, ils le prirent, le tuèrent et le jetèrent hors de la vigne.
And they took him, and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.
9 Que fera donc le maître de la vigne? — Il viendra, fera périr ces vignerons, et donnera la vigne à d'autres.
What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10 Vous n'avez pas lu non plus ce passage de l'Ecriture: «La pierre, que les constructeurs avaient mise au rebut, est devenue la pierre angulaire.
Have ye not read even this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner:
11 C'est par la volonté du Seigneur qu'elle l’est devenue, et elle est une merveille à nos yeux.»
This was from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes?
12 Les sénateurs cherchaient à l'arrêter, mais la crainte du peuple les retint: ils avaient compris que c'était à eux que s'adressait cette parabole. Ils le quittèrent et s'en allèrent.
And they sought to lay hold on him; and they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spake the parable against them: and they left him, and went away.
13 Ils envoyèrent vers lui des pharisiens et des hérodiens, pour lui faire une question insidieuse.
And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in talk.
14 Ceux-ci vinrent lui dire: «Maître, nous savons que tu es vrai, et que tu ne te soucies de qui que ce soit, car tu ne fais pas acception de personnes, mais tu enseignes en toute vérité la voie de Dieu. Est-il permis, ou non, de payer le tribut à César?
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any one: for thou regardest not the person of men, but of a truth teachest the way of God: Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
15 Devons-nous payer, oui ou non?» Mais Jésus connaissant leur hypocrisie, leur dit: «Pourquoi essayez-vous de me surprendre? Apportez-moi un denier, que je le voie.»
Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 Ils en apportèrent un; et Jésus leur dit: «De qui sont cette effigie et cette légende?» — «De César, » lui dirent-ils.
And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s.
17 Jésus reprit: «Rendez à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu.» Et il les étonna par sa réponse.
And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s. And they marveled greatly at him.
18 Des sadducéens, gens qui prétendent qu'il n'y a point de résurrection, vinrent vers Jésus, et lui posèrent cette question:
And there come unto him Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19 «Maître, Moïse nous a donné cette loi: «Si un frère meurt et qu'il laisse une femme sans laisser d'enfants, que son frère épouse la veuve et suscite lignée à son frère.»
Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave a wife behind him, and leave no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20 Il y avait sept frères: le premier se maria, et mourut sans laisser de postérité.
There were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed;
21 Le second épousa la veuve, et mourut aussi sans postérité. Le troisième pareillement.
and the second took her, and died, leaving no seed behind him; and the third likewise:
22 Enfin aucun des sept frères ne laissa de postérité. Après eux tous, la femme mourut aussi.
and the seven left no seed. Last of all the woman also died.
23 Duquel d'entre eux sera-t-elle la femme dans la résurrection, lorsqu'ils seront ressuscités, car tous les sept l'ont épousée?»
In the resurrection whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24 Jésus leur répondit: «N'est-ce pas, parce que vous ne connaissez ni les Écritures, ni même la puissance de Dieu, que vous êtes dans l'erreur?
Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
25 Quand on ressuscitera, ni hommes, ni femmes ne se marieront, mais ils seront comme les anges qui sont dans les cieux.
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels in heaven.
26 Quant aux morts, nul doute qu'ils ne ressuscitent. N'avez-vous pas lu dans le livre de Moïse, dans le passage où il est parlé du buisson, comment Dieu s'exprima, quand il dit à Moïse: «Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d’Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob?»
But as touching the dead, that they are raised; have ye not read in the book of Moses, in [the place concerning] the Bush, how God spake unto him, saying, I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 Il n'est pas Dieu des morts, mais Dieu des vivants. Vous êtes donc dans une grande erreur.»
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: ye do greatly err.
28 Un scribe témoin de cette discussion, trouvant que Jésus leur avait bien répondu, s'approcha, et lui demanda: «Quel est le premier de tous les commandements?»
And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
29 Jésus répondit: «Le premier commandement, c'est: «Ecoute Israël: le Seigneur notre Dieu et le seul Seigneur,
Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one:
30 et tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta pensée et de toute ta force.»
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.
31 Voici le second: «Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même.» Il n'y a pas d'autre commandement plus grand que ceux-là.»
The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32 Le scribe lui dit: «Maître, tu as vraiment bien parlé, quand tu as dit qu'il est le «seul Seigneur, » et qu'il n'y en a point d'autre que lui,
And the scribe said unto him, Of a truth, Master, thou hast well said that he is one; and there is none other but he:
33 et que «l'aimer de tout son coeur, de toute sa pensée, de toute son âme et de toute sa force, et aimer son prochain comme soi-même, » c'est plus que tous les holocaustes et tous les sacrifices.»
and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34 Jésus, voyant qu'il avait sagement répondu, lui dit: «Tu n'es pas loin du royaume de Dieu.» Et personne n'osait plus lui poser de questions.
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35 Jésus, continuant à enseigner dans le temple, ajouta: «Comment se fait-il que les scribes disent que le Messie est fils de David?
And Jesus answered and said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Christ is the son of David?
36 David lui-même, animé du Saint-Esprit, a dit: «Le Seigneur dit à mon Seigneur: «Assieds-toi à ma droite jusqu'à ce que j’aie fait de tes ennemis ton marchepied, »
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.
37 David lui-même l'appelle «Seigneur, » et d'où vient qu'il est son fils?» Et la masse du peuple prenait plaisir à l'entendre.
David himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
38 Il leur disait encore dans son enseignement: «Gardez-vous des scribes, qui aiment à se promener en robes, qui recherchent les salutations dans les places publiques,
And in his teaching he said, Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and [to have] salutations in the marketplaces,
39 les premiers sièges dans les synagogues et les premières places dans les repas:
and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places at feasts:
40 ces gens qui dévorent les maisons des veuves, sous prétexte de longues prières, seront jugés d'autant plus sévèrement.»
they which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; these shall receive greater condemnation.
41 Jésus, s'étant assis en face du trésor, observait la foule qui mettait de l'argent dans le tronc. Plusieurs riches y mettaient beaucoup.
And he sat down over against the treasury, and beheld how the multitude cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 Il vint une pauvre veuve qui y mit deux pites, ce qui vaut un quart de sol.
And there came a poor widow, and she cast in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 Alors Jésus, ayant appelé ses disciples, leur dit: «Je vous assure que cette pauvre veuve a donné plus que tous ceux qui ont mis dans le tronc,
And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than all they which are casting into the treasury:
44 car tous ont mis de leur superflu, tandis qu'elle a donné de son nécessaire, tout ce qu'elle possédait, tout ce qu'elle avait pour vivre.»
for they all did cast in of their superfluity; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, [even] all her living.
