Marc 10
1 Jésus étant parti de là, se rendit aux confins de la Judée, de l'autre côté du Jourdain. Des foules se joignirent de nouveau à lui, et Jésus, suivant sa coutume, se mit de nouveau à les enseigner.
And departing thence, he cometh into the borders of Judaea, and to the other side of the Jordan; and multitudes again come together to him; and, as he was wont, he again taught them.
2 Des pharisiens vinrent vers lui, et lui demandèrent s'il est permis à un mari de répudier sa femme: c'était pour le mettre à l'épreuve.
And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him whether it was lawful for a man to put away his wife, trying him.
3 Jésus leur répondit: «Qu'est-ce que Moïse vous a prescrit?»
And he answering said to them, What did Moses command you?
4 — «Moïse, dirent-ils, nous a autorisés à dresser un acte de divorce et à répudier.»
And they said, Moses permitted to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5 Jésus reprit: «C'est à cause de la dureté de votre coeur que Moïse vous a donné ce commandement,
And Jesus said to them, On account of your hardness of heart he wrote you this command.
6 mais au commencement de la création, Dieu les fit, l’un homme, l’autre femme;
But, from the beginning of the creation, [[God]] made them male and female.
7 pour cette raison. L’homme, quittera son père et sa mère pour s'attacher à sa femme,
“For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother;
8 et les deux seront une seule chair. Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais ils sont une seule chair.
and the two shall become one flesh.” So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 Que l'homme donc ne sépare pas ce que Dieu a uni.»
What therefore God joined together, let not man put asunder.
10 Rentrés au logis, les disciples l’interrogèrent encore sur ce sujet;
And in the house his disciples asked him again about this matter.
11 et il leur dit: «Si un homme répudie sa femme et en épouse une autre, il se rend coupable d'adultère à l’égard de la première;
And he saith to them, Whoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery against her.
12 et si une femme se divorce d'avec son mari et en épouse un autre, elle commet un adultère.»
And if she put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
13 On lui amena de petits enfants, pour qu'il les touchât. Les disciples reprenaient ceux qui les amenaient,
And they brought children to him, that he might touch them; and the disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 mais Jésus, s'en étant aperçu, en fut fâché, et leur dit: «Laissez venir vers moi ces petits enfants; ne les en empêchez pas, car le royaume de Dieu est à ceux qui leur ressemblent.
But Jesus seeing it was much displeased, and said to them, Suffer the children to come to me; forbid them not; for to such belongeth the kingdom of God.
15 En vérité, je vous dis que si l’on ne reçoit pas le royaume de Dieu avec les dispositions d'un petit enfant, l’on n'y entre point.
Truly do I say to you, Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child, will not enter therein.
16 Puis il embrassa ces enfants, leur imposa les mains, et les bénit.
And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.
17 Au moment où il sortait pour se mettre en route, un homme accourut, et, se jetant à ses genoux, lui adressa cette question: «Bon Maître, que dois-je faire pour hériter la vie éternelle?» (aiōnios g166)
And as he was going out into the way, a certain one running up and kneeling to him, asked him, Good teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit everlasting life? (aiōnios g166)
18 Jésus lui dit: «Pourquoi m'appelles-tu bon? Dieu seul est bon.
And Jesus said to him, Why dost thou call me good? None is good but one, that is, God.
19 Tu connais les commandements: «Ne commets point adultère; ne tue point; ne dérobe point; ne porte point de faux témoignage; ne fais tort à personne; honore ton père et mère.»
Thou knowest the commandments, “Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and thy mother.”
20 Cet homme répondit: «Maître, j'ai gardé tous ces commandements dès ma jeunesse.»
And he said to him, Teacher, all these have I kept from my youth.
21 Jésus, l'ayant regardé, l'aima, et lui dit: «Il te manque une chose: va, vends tout ce que tu as, et le donne aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le ciel; puis viens, suis-moi en portant ta croix.»
And Jesus looking at him, loved him, and said to him, One thing thou lackest; go, sell whatever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
22 Mais lui, assombri par cette parole, s'en alla tout triste, car il avait de grands biens.
But his countenance fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful; for he had great possessions.
23 Alors Jésus, jetant ses regards autour de lui, dit à ses disciples: «Qu'il est difficile à ceux qui possèdent les richesses d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!»
And Jesus, looking round, saith to his disciples, How hardly shall they who have riches enter the kingdom t of God!
24 Ils furent stupéfaits de ces paroles. Alors Jésus reprit: «Mes enfants, qu'il est difficile à ceux qui mettent leur confiance dans les richesses d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answering again saith to them, Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
25 Il est plus aisé qu'un chameau passe par le trou d'une aiguille, qu'il ne l'est à un riche d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.»
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
26 Les disciples encore plus étonnés, se disaient les uns aux autres: «Et qui peut être sauvé?»
And they were beyond measure astonished, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27 Jésus, arrêtant son regard sur eux, dit: «Cela est impossible aux hommes, mais non à Dieu; car toutes choses sont possibles à Dieu.»
Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.
28 Pierre se mit à lui dire: «Pour nous, tu le vois, nous avons tout quitté pour te suivre.»
Peter began to say to him, Lo! we left all, and have followed thee.
29 Jésus répondit: «En vérité je vous le dis, personne ne quittera, pour moi et pour l'évangile, maison, ou frères, ou soeurs, ou mère, ou père, ou enfants, ou terres,
Jesus said, Truly do I say to you, There is no one who hath left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for the sake of me and of the glad tidings,
31 Bien des derniers seront les premiers, et bien des premiers seront les derniers.»
But many who are first will be last; and the last first.
32 Ils étaient en route pour monter à Jérusalem: Jésus allait devant, et les disciples suivaient pleins de stupeur, quelques-uns même pleins d'effroi. Jésus, prenant de nouveau les Douze près de lui, se mit à leur dire ce qui devait lui arriver:
And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was leading the way; and they were amazed, and they that followed were afraid. And again taking the twelve aside, he began to tell them what things were about to befall him:
33 «Voici que nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux scribes: ils le condamneront à mort et le livreront aux Gentils,
Lo! we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be delivered up to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn him to death, and deliver him up to the gentiles;
34 qui le bafoueront, le flagelleront, cracheront sur lui et le mettront à mort; mais, trois jours après, il ressuscitera.»
and they will mock him, and spit upon him, and scourge him, and put him to death; and after three days he will rise again.
35 Jacques et Jean, fils de Zébédée, s'avancèrent vers lui, et lui dirent: «Maître, nous voudrions que tu fisses pour nous ce que nous allons te demander.»
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to him, saying to him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldst do for us whatever we shall ask thee.
36 Jésus leur dit: «Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous?»
And he said to them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37 — «Accorde-nous, lui dirent-ils, d'être assis, l'un à ta droite, l'autre à ta gauche, quand tu seras dans ta gloire?»
And they said to him, Grant to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand and one on thy left, in thy glory.
38 Jésus leur répondit: «Vous ne savez ce que vous demandez. Pouvez- vous boire le calice que je vais boire, et être baptisés du baptême dont je vais être baptisé?»
But Jesus said to them, Ye know not what ye ask. Can ye drink the cup that I drink, or be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39 — «Nous le pouvons, » dirent-ils. Jésus leur répondit: «Oui, vous boirez le calice que je vais boire, et vous serez baptisés du baptême dont je vais être baptisé;
And they said to him, We can. And Jesus said to them, Ye will drink the cup that I drink, and ye will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
40 mais quant à être assis à ma droite ou à ma gauche, il ne m'appartient pas de l'accorder; cette distinction sera pour ceux à qui elle est réservée.»
but to sit on my right hand or on my left is not mine to give, but it will be given to those for whom it hath been prepared.
41 Les dix autres disciples, qui avaient entendu cette demande, commencèrent à se fâcher contre Jacques et Jean.
And the ten hearing it began to be much displeased with James and John.
42 Jésus les appela et leur dit: «Vous savez que les princes reconnus par les nations les maîtrisent, et que les grands les dominent;
And Jesus, calling them to him, saith to them, Ye know that they who are accounted to rule over the nations lord it over them, and their great men exercise a strict authority over them.
43 il n'en est point ainsi parmi vous: au contraire, celui qui veut être grand parmi vous sera votre serviteur,
But it is not so among you; but whoever desireth to become great among you, will be your minister;
44 et celui qui veut être le premier, sera l'esclave de tous.
and whoever of you desireth to become first, will be servant of all;
45 Car le Fils de l'homme est venu, non pour être servi, mais pour servir et donner sa vie pour la rançon de beaucoup.»
for even the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46 Ils arrivèrent à Jéricho. Comme Jésus sortait de Jéricho, lui, ses disciples et une assez grande foule, le fils de Timée, Bar-Timée, mendiant aveugle, se trouvait assis sur le bord de la route.
And they come to Jericho; and as he was going out of Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the wayside.
47 Ayant entendu dire que c'était Jésus de Nazareth qui passait, il se mit à crier: «Fils de David, Jésus, aie pitié de moi.»
And hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, Son of David, Jesus, have pity on me!
48 Plusieurs le reprenaient pour le faire taire; mais il criait encore plus fort: «Fils de David, aie pitié de moi.»
And many sharply bade him be silent; but he cried out the more, Son of David, have pity on me!
49 Jésus s'arrêta, et dit: «Appelez-le.» On appela l'aveugle, et on lui dit: «Courage! lève-toi, il t'appelle.»
And Jesus stopped, and said, Call him. And they call the blind man, saying to him, Be of good courage, rise, he calleth thee.
50 Et lui, jetant son manteau, se leva d'un bond, et vint vers Jésus.
And throwing off his garment, he leaped up, and came to Jesus.
51 Jésus, prenant la parole, lui dit: «Que veux-tu que je fasse pour toi?» L'aveugle lui dit: «Rabbouni, que je recouvre la vue.»
And Jesus answering said to him, What dost thou wish me to do for thee? The blind man said to him, My master, to restore my sight.
52 — «Va, lui dit Jésus, ta foi t'a guéri.» Aussitôt il recouvra la vue, et il suivit Jésus dans le chemin.
And Jesus said to him, Go; thy faith hath saved thee. And he immediately received his sight, and followed him on the road.
