1 Commencement de l'Evangile de Jésus-Christ, Fils de Dieu.
Beginning of the glad tidings of Jesus Christ, Son of God;
2 Selon ce qui est écrit dans Esaïe, le prophète, «voici j'envoie devant toi mon messager pour te préparer le chemin;
as it is written in [Isaiah] the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way.
3 C'est une voie qui crie au désert: «Préparez le chemin du Seigneur faites-lui des sentiers droits, »
Voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of [the] Lord, make his paths straight.
4 Jean parut, baptisant au désert, et prêchant le baptême de repentance pour le pardon des péchés.
There came John baptising in the wilderness, and preaching [the] baptism of repentance for remission of sins.
5 Toutes les campagnes de la Judée et tous les habitants de Jérusalem se rendaient vers lui, et se faisaient baptiser par lui dans le fleuve du Jourdain, confessant leurs péchés.
And there went out to him all the district of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem, and were baptised by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Jean avait un vêtement de poil de chameau, et une ceinture de cuir autour des reins; il mangeait des sauterelles et du miel sauvage.
And John was clothed in camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins, and ate locusts and wild honey.
7 Il prêchait, disant: «Il vient après moi, celui qui est plus puissant que moi, et je ne suis pas digne de délier, en me baissant, la courroie de ses sandales.
And he preached, saying, There comes he that is mightier than I after me, the thong of whose sandals I am not fit to stoop down and unloose.
8 Pour moi, je vous ai baptisés d'eau, mais il vous baptisera d'esprit saint.»
I indeed have baptised you with water, but he shall baptise you with [the] Holy Spirit.
9 En ce temps-là, Jésus vint de Nazareth ville de Galilée, et il fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.
And it came to pass in those days [that] Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptised by John at the Jordan.
10 Au moment où il sortait de l'eau, il vit les cieux s'entr'ouvrir, et l'Esprit, comme une colombe, descendre sur lui.
And straightway going up from the water, he saw the heavens parting asunder, and the Spirit, as a dove, descending upon him.
11 Et une voix sortit des cieux, disant: «Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé; c'est en toi que j'ai mis toute mon affection.»
And there came a voice out of the heavens: Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I have found my delight.
12 Aussitôt après, Jésus fut poussé par l'Esprit au désert,
And immediately the Spirit drives him out into the wilderness.
13 et il y passa quarante jours, tenté par Satan. Il était avec les bêtes sauvages, et les anges le servaient.
And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
14 Après que Jean eut été mis en prison, Jésus se rendit en Galilée, prêchant l'évangile de Dieu,
But after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom of God,
15 et disant: «Le temps est venu, et le royaume de Dieu est proche. Repentez- vous, et croyez à la bonne nouvelle.»
and saying, The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn nigh; repent and believe in the glad tidings.
16 Comme il passait le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit Simon et André, frère de Simon, qui péchaient au filet dans la mer, car ils étaient pêcheurs;
And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew, [Simon's] brother, casting out a net in the sea, for they were fishers.
17 et Jésus leur dit: «Venez, suivez-moi, et je vous ferai pêcheurs d'hommes.»
And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will make you become fishers of men;
18 Aussitôt ils quittèrent leurs filets, et le suivirent.
and straightway leaving their trawl-nets they followed him.
19 Étant allé un peu plus loin, il vit Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean, son frère, qui raccommodaient leurs filets dans leur barque.
And going on thence a little, he saw James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, and these [were] in the ship repairing the trawl-nets;
20 Il les appela aussitôt; et eux, laissant Zébédée, leur père, dans la barque avec les ouvriers, le suivirent.
and straightway he called them; and leaving their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, they went away after him.
21 Ils se rendirent à Capernaoum. Dès le sabbat, Jésus entra dans la synagogue, et y enseigna.
And they go into Capernaum. And straightway on the sabbath he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 Et l'on était frappé de son enseignement; car il enseignait avec autorité, et non comme les scribes.
And they were astonished at his doctrine, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Dès que Jésus eut parlé, un homme qui avait un esprit impur, et qui se trouvait dans la synagogue,
And there was in their synagogue a man [possessed] by an unclean spirit, and he cried out
24 s'écria: «Qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Tu es venu nous faire périr. Je te connais, tu es le Saint de Dieu.»
saying, Eh! what have we to do with thee, Jesus, Nazarene? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the holy one of God.
25 Jésus le tança. «Tais-toi, lui dit-il, et sors de cet homme.»
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace and come out of him.
26 Et l'esprit impur, ayant jeté cet homme dans des convulsions, sortit en poussant un grand cri.
And the unclean spirit, having torn him, and uttered a cry with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 Tous les assistants furent dans la stupéfaction, de sorte qu'ils discutaient entre eux, et disaient: «Qu'est-ce donc? Un enseignement nouveau! Il commande avec autorité même aux esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent!
And all were amazed, so that they questioned together among themselves, saying, What is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.
28 Et sa renommée se répandit aussitôt de tous côtés, dans tous les lieux qui avoisinent la Galilée.
And his fame went out straightway into the whole region of Galilee around.
29 En sortant de la synagogue, ils allèrent avec Jacques et Jean dans la maison de Simon et d'André.
And straightway going out of the synagogue, they came with James and John into the house of Simon and Andrew.
30 La belle-mère de Simon était couchée, ayant la fièvre. Aussitôt on parla d'elle à Jésus:
And the mother-in-law of Simon lay in a fever. And straightway they speak to him about her.
31 il s'approcha, et la saisissant par la main, il la fit lever. A l'instant la fièvre la quitta, et elle les servit.
And he went up to [her] and raised her up, having taken her by the hand, and straightway the fever left her, and she served them.
32 Le soir, quand le soleil fut couché, on amena à Jésus tous ceux qui étaient malades, ainsi que les démoniaques;
But evening being come, when the sun had gone down, they brought to him all that were suffering, and those possessed by demons;
33 et toute la ville se pressait à sa porte.
and the whole city was gathered together at the door.
34 Il guérit un grand nombre de malades atteints de divers maux, et il chassa beaucoup de démons. Il imposait silence aux démons, parce qu'ils le connaissaient.
And he healed many suffering from various diseases; and he cast out many demons, and did not suffer the demons to speak because they knew him.
35 Le lendemain matin, s’étant levé bien avant le jour, il sortit, alla dans un lieu solitaire, et il y pria.
And rising in the morning long before day, he went out and went away into a desert place, and there prayed.
36 Simon et ceux qui étaient ordinairement avec lui, se mirent à sa recherche,
And Simon and those with him went after him:
37 et l'ayant trouvé, ils lui dirent: «Tout le monde te cherche.»
and having found him, they say to him, All seek thee.
38 Il leur répondit: «Allons ailleurs, dans les bourgades qui sont plus loin, afin que j'y prêche aussi, car c'est dans ce but que je suis sorti.»
And he says to them, Let us go elsewhere into the neighbouring country towns, that I may preach there also, for for this purpose am I come forth.
39 Et il allait par toute la Galilée, prêchant dans les synagogues et chassant les démons.
And he was preaching in their synagogues in the whole of Galilee, and casting out demons.
40 Un lépreux vint vers lui, pour lui adresser une prière; il se jeta à ses pieds, et lui dit: «Si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre net.»
And there comes to him a leper, beseeching him, and falling on his knees to him, and saying to him, If thou wilt thou canst cleanse me.
41 Jésus, ému de compassion, avança la main, le toucha et lui dit: «Je le veux, sois net.»
But Jesus, moved with compassion, having stretched out his hand, touched him, and says to him, I will, be thou cleansed.
42 A peine eut-il parlé, que la lèpre quitta cet homme, et il devint net.
And as he spoke straightway the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
43 Jésus le renvoya sur-le-champ, en lui disant d'un ton sévère:
And having sharply charged him, he straightway sent him away,
44 «Garde-toi d'en rien dire à personne; mais, va, montre-toi au sacrificateur, et offre pour ta guérison, ce que Moïse a ordonné pour l'attester au peuple.»
and says to him, See thou say nothing to any one, but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what Moses ordained, for a testimony to them.
45 Cet homme s'en étant allé, se mit à publier et à répandre partout la nouvelle, de sorte que Jésus ne pouvait plus entrer publiquement dans une ville, mais il se tenait en dehors, dans des lieux solitaires; et l’on venait vers lui de toutes parts.
But he, having gone forth, began to proclaim [it] much, and to spread the matter abroad, so that he could no longer enter openly into the city, but was without in desert places, and they came to him from every side.
