1 Le premier jour de la semaine, Marie Madeleine se rendit au sépulcre, de grand matin, lorsqu'il faisait encore obscur: elle vit que la pierre en était ôtée.
And on the first of the sabbaths, Mary the Magdalene doth come early (there being yet darkness) to the tomb, and she seeth the stone having been taken away out of the tomb,
2 Elle courut donc trouver Simon Pierre, ainsi que l'autre disciple que Jésus aimait, et leur dit: «On a enlevé du sépulcre le Seigneur, et nous ne savons où on l’a mis.»
she runneth, therefore, and cometh unto Simon Peter, and unto the other disciple whom Jesus was loving, and saith to them, 'They took away the Lord out of the tomb, and we have not known where they laid him.'
3 Pierre sortit donc, ainsi que l'autre disciple, et ils se rendirent au sépulcre.
Peter, therefore, went forth, and the other disciple, and they were coming to the tomb,
4 Ils couraient tous deux; mais l'autre disciple courut plus vite que Pierre, et arriva le premier au sépulcre;
and the two were running together, and the other disciple did run forward more quickly than Peter, and came first to the tomb,
5 et s'étant baissé, il vit les bandes qui étaient à terre; cependant, il n'entra point.
and having stooped down, seeth the linen clothes lying, yet, indeed, he entered not.
6 Simon Pierre, qui le suivait, arriva à son tour; il entra dans le sépulcre, et vit les bandes qui étaient à terre,
Simon Peter, therefore, cometh, following him, and he entered into the tomb, and beholdeth the linen clothes lying,
7 et le suaire, dont on avait couvert la tête de Jésus, non point avec les bandes, mais roulé à part dans un coin.
and the napkin that was upon his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but apart, having been folded up, in one place;
8 Alors cet autre disciple qui était arrivé le premier au sépulcre, y entra aussi: il vit, et il crut;
then, therefore, entered also the other disciple who came first unto the tomb, and he saw, and did believe;
9 car ces disciples ne savaient pas encore que, d'après l'Écriture, le Messie devait ressusciter des morts.
for not yet did they know the Writing, that it behoveth him out of the dead to rise again.
10 Là-dessus, ils s'en retournèrent chez eux.
The disciples therefore went away again unto their own friends,
11 Cependant Marie se tenait près du sépulcre, en dehors, et pleurait. Tout en pleurant, elle se baissa pour regarder dans le sépulcre,
and Mary was standing near the tomb, weeping without; as she was weeping, then, she stooped down to the tomb, and beholdeth two messengers in white, sitting,
12 et elle vit deux anges, vêtus de blanc, assis au lieu où avait reposé le corps de Jésus, l'un à la tête, l'autre aux pieds.
one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been laid.
13 Et ces anges lui dirent: «Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu?» Elle leur répondit: «C'est qu'on a enlevé mon Seigneur, et je ne sais où on l’a mis.»
And they say to her, 'Woman, why dost thou weep?' she saith to them, 'Because they took away my Lord, and I have not known where they laid him;'
14 En disant ces mots, elle se retourna et vit Jésus qui était là; mais elle ne savait pas que c'était Jésus.
and these things having said, she turned backward, and seeth Jesus standing, and she had not known that it is Jesus.
15 Jésus lui dit: «Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? Qui cherches-tu?» Marie, croyant que c'était le jardinier, lui dit: «Seigneur, si c'est toi qui l'as emporté, dis-moi où tu l'as mis, et j'irai le prendre.»
Jesus saith to her, 'Woman, why dost thou weep? whom dost thou seek;' she, supposing that he is the gardener, saith to him, 'Sir, if thou didst carry him away, tell me where thou didst lay him, and I will take him away;'
16 Jésus lui dit: «Marie!» Elle se retourna, et lui dit en hébreu: «Rabboni!» c’est-à-dire, Maître.
Jesus saith to her, 'Mary!' having turned, she saith to him, 'Rabbouni;' that is to say, 'Teacher.'
17 Jésus lui dit: «Ne me touche pas, car je ne suis pas encore monté vers le Père; mais va trouver mes frères, et dis-leur que je monte vers mon Père et votre Père, vers mon Dieu et votre Dieu.»
Jesus saith to her, 'Be not touching me, for I have not yet ascended unto my Father; and be going on to my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father, and to my God, and to your God.'
18 Marie Madeleine alla annoncer aux disciples qu'elle avait vu le Seigneur, et qu'il lui avait dit ces choses.
Mary the Magdalene cometh, telling to the disciples that she hath seen the Lord, and [that] these things he said to her.
19 Dans la soirée de ce même jour, qui était le premier de la semaine, les portes du lieu où étaient les disciples étant fermées par crainte des Juifs, Jésus vint, et, se présentant au milieu d'eux, il leur dit: «La paix soit avec vous!»
It being, therefore, evening, on that day, the first of the sabbaths, and the doors having been shut where the disciples were assembled, through fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith to them, 'Peace to you;'
20 Ayant ainsi parlé, il leur montra ses mains et son côté. Les disciples furent remplis de joie en voyant le Seigneur.
and this having said, he shewed them his hands and side; the disciples, therefore, rejoiced, having seen the Lord.
21 Jésus leur dit une seconde fois: «La paix soit avec vous! Comme le Père m'a envoyé, moi aussi je vous envoie.»
Jesus, therefore, said to them again, 'Peace to you; according as the Father hath sent me, I also send you;'
22 Après ces paroles, il souffla sur eux, et leur dit: «Recevez le Saint-Esprit.
and this having said, he breathed on [them], and saith to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit;
23 Ceux à qui vous pardonnerez leurs péchés, ces péchés leur seront pardonnés; ceux à qui vous retiendrez leurs péchés, ces péchés leur seront retenus.»
if of any ye may loose the sins, they are loosed to them; if of any ye may retain, they have been retained.'
24 Thomas, l'un des Douze, celui qu'on appelle Didyme, n'était pas avec eux, lorsque Jésus vint.
And Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came;
25 Les autres disciples lui dirent donc: «Nous avons vu le Seigneur.» Mais Thomas leur dit: «Si je ne vois dans ses mains la marque des clous, si je ne mets mon doigt à la place où étaient les clous, et si je ne mets ma main dans son côté, je ne le croirai point.»
the other disciples, therefore, said to him, 'We have seen the Lord;' and he said to them, 'If I may not see in his hands the mark of the nails, and may put my finger to the mark of the nails, and may put my hand to his side, I will not believe.'
26 Huit jours après, les disciples se trouvaient de nouveau dans la maison, et Thomas était avec eux. Jésus vint, quoique les, portes fussent fermées, et, se présentant au milieu d'eux, leur dit: «La paix soit avec vous!»
And after eight days, again were his disciples within, and Thomas with them; Jesus cometh, the doors having been shut, and he stood in the midst, and said, 'Peace to you!'
27 Il dit ensuite à Thomas: «Approche ici ton doigt, et regarde mes mains; approche aussi ta main et la mets dans mon côté; et ne sois pas incrédule, mais crois.»
then he saith to Thomas, 'Bring thy finger hither, and see my hands, and bring thy hand, and put [it] to my side, and become not unbelieving, but believing.'
28 Thomas répondit et lui dit: «Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu!»
And Thomas answered and said to him, 'My Lord and my God;'
29 Jésus lui dit: «Parce que tu m'as vu, tu as cru: heureux ceux qui croiront sans avoir vu!»
Jesus saith to him, 'Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed; happy those not having seen, and having believed.'
30 Jésus a fait, en présence de ses disciples, beaucoup d'autres miracles qui ne sont pas consignés dans ce livre;
Many indeed, therefore, other signs also did Jesus before his disciples, that are not written in this book;
31 mais ceux-ci ont été rapportés, afin que vous croyiez que Jésus est le Messie, le Fils de Dieu, et qu'en croyant vous ayez la vie en son nom.
and these have been written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.'
