Apocalypse 12
1 Et un grand signe parut au Ciel, [savoir], une femme revêtue du soleil, sous les pieds de laquelle était la lune, et sur sa tête une couronne de douze étoiles.
And a greet signe apperide in heuene; a womman clothid with the sunne, and the moone vndur hir feet, and in the heed of hir a coroun of twelue sterris.
2 Elle était enceinte, et elle criait étant en travail d'enfant, souffrant les grandes douleurs de l'enfantement.
And sche hadde in wombe, and sche crieth, trauelynge of child, and is turmentid, that sche bere child.
3 Il parut aussi un autre signe au ciel, et voici un grand dragon roux ayant sept têtes et dix cornes, et sur ses têtes sept diadèmes;
And another signe was seyn in heuene; and lo! a greet reede dragoun, that hadde seuene heedis, and ten hornes, and in the heedis of hym seuene diademes.
4 et sa queue traînait la troisième partie des étoiles du ciel, lesquelles il jeta en la terre; puis le dragon s'arrêta devant la femme qui devait accoucher, afin de dévorer son enfant, dès qu'elle l'aurait mis au monde.
And the tail of hym drow the thridde part of sterris of heuene, and sente hem in to the erthe. And the dragoun stood bifore the womman, that was to berynge child, that whanne sche hadde borun child, he schulde deuoure hir sone.
5 Et elle accoucha d'un fils, qui doit gouverner toutes les nations avec une verge de fer; et son enfant fut enlevé vers Dieu, et vers son trône.
And sche bar a knaue child, that was to reulinge alle folkis in an yrun yerde; and hir sone was rauyschid to God, and to his trone.
6 Et la femme s'enfuit dans un désert, où elle a un lieu préparé de Dieu, afin qu'on la nourrisse là mille deux cent soixante jours.
And the womman flei in to wildirnesse, where sche hath a place maad redi of God, that he fede hir there a thousynde daies two hundrid and sixti.
7 Et il y eut une bataille au ciel: Michel et ses Anges combattaient contre le dragon; et le dragon et ses Anges combattaient [contre Michel].
And a greet batel was maad in heuene, and Myyhel and hise aungels fouyten with the dragoun. And the dragoun fauyt, and hise aungels;
8 Mais ils ne furent pas les plus forts, et ils ne purent plus se maintenir dans le ciel.
and thei hadden not myyt, nether the place of hem was foundun more in heuene.
9 Et le grand dragon, le serpent ancien, appelé le Diable et Satan, qui séduit le monde, fut précipité en la terre, et ses Anges furent précipités avec lui.
And thilke dragoun was cast doun, the greet elde serpent, that is clepid the Deuel, and Sathanas, that disseyueth al the world; he was cast doun in to the erthe, and hise aungels weren sent with hym.
10 Alors j'ouïs une grande voix dans le ciel, qui disait: Maintenant est le salut, la force, le règne de notre Dieu, et la puissance de son Christ; car l'accusateur de nos frères, qui les accusait devant notre Dieu jour et nuit, a été précipité.
And Y herde a greet vois in heuene, seiynge, Now is maad helthe, and vertu, and kyngdom of oure God, and the power of his Crist; for the accuser of oure britheren is cast doun, which accuside hem bifor the siyte of oure God dai and nyyt.
11 Et ils l'ont vaincu à cause du sang de l'Agneau, et à cause de la parole de leur témoignage, et ils n'ont point aimé leurs vies, [mais les ont exposées] à la mort.
And thei ouercamen hym for the blood of the lomb, and for the word of his witnessing; and thei louyden not her lyues til to deth.
12 C'est pourquoi réjouissez-vous, cieux, et vous qui y habitez. Mais malheur [à vous] habitants de la terre et de la mer; car le Diable est descendu vers vous en grande fureur, sachant qu'il a peu de temps.
Therfor, ye heuenes, be ye glad, and ye that dwellen in hem. Wo to the erthe, and to the see; for the fend is come doun to you, and hath greet wraththe, witynge that he hath litil tyme.
13 Or, quand le dragon eut vu qu'il avait été jeté en la terre, il persécuta la femme qui avait accouché d'un fils.
And after that the dragoun sai, that he was cast doun to the erthe, he pursuede the womman, that bare the knaue child.
14 Mais deux ailes d'une grande aigle furent données à la femme, afin qu'elle s'envolât de devant le serpent en son lieu, où elle est nourrie par un temps, par des temps, et par la moitié d'un temps.
And twei wengis of a greet egle weren youun to the womman, that sche schulde flee in to deseert, in to hir place, where sche is fed by tyme, and tymes, and half a tyme, fro the face of the serpent.
15 Et le serpent jeta de sa gueule de l'eau comme un fleuve après la femme, afin de la faire emporter par le fleuve.
And the serpent sente out of his mouth aftir the womman watir as a flood, that he schulde make hir to be drawun of the flood.
16 Mais la terre aida à la femme; car la terre ouvrit son sein, et elle engloutit le fleuve que le dragon avait jeté de sa gueule.
And the erthe helpide the womman, and the erthe openyde his mouth, and soop up the flood, that the dragoun sente of his mouth.
17 Alors le dragon fut irrité contre la femme, et s'en alla faire la guerre contre les autres qui sont de la semence de la femme, qui gardent les commandements de Dieu, et qui ont le témoignage de Jésus-Christ.
And the dragoun was wrooth ayens the womman, and he wente to make batel with othere of hir seed, that kepen the maundementis of God, and han the witnessing of Jhesu Crist.
