Psaumes 96
1 Chantez à l'Eternel un nouveau cantique; vous toute la terre chantez à l'Eternel.
A canticle for David himself, when the house was built after the captivity. Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Chantez à l'Eternel, bénissez son Nom, prêchez de jour en jour sa délivrance.
Sing ye to the Lord and bless his name: shew forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Racontez sa gloire parmi les nations, [et] ses merveilles parmi tous les peuples.
Declare his glory among the Gentiles: his wonders among all people.
4 Car l'Eternel [est] grand, et digne d'être loué; il [est] redoutable par-dessus tous les dieux;
For the Lord is great, and exceedingly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 Car tous les dieux des peuples [ne sont que des] idoles; mais l'Eternel a fait les cieux.
For all the gods of the Gentiles are devils: but the Lord made the heavens.
6 La majesté et la magnificence [marchent] devant lui; la force et l'excellence sont dans son sanctuaire.
Praise and beauty are before him: holiness and majesty in his sanctuary.
7 Familles des peuples rendez à l'Eternel, rendez à l'Eternel la gloire et la force.
Bring ye to the Lord, O ye kindreds of the Gentiles, bring ye to the Lord glory and honour:
8 Rendez à l'Eternel la gloire due à son Nom; apportez l'oblation, et entrez dans ses parvis.
Bring to the Lord glory unto his name. Bring up sacrifices, and come into his courts:
9 Prosternez-vous devant l'Eternel avec une sainte magnificence; vous tous les habitants de la terre tremblez tout étonnés, à cause de la présence de sa face.
Adore ye the Lord in his holy court. Let all the earth be moved at his presence.
10 Dites parmi les nations: l'Eternel règne; même la terre habitable est affermie, [et] elle ne sera point ébranlée; il jugera les peuples en équité.
Say ye among the Gentiles, the Lord hath reigned. For he hath corrected the world, which shall not be moved: he will judge the people with justice.
11 Que les cieux se réjouissent, et que la terre s'égaye! Que la mer et ce qui est contenu en elle bruie!
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad, let the sea be moved, and the fulness thereof:
12 Que les champs s'égayent, avec tout ce qui est en eux. Alors tous les arbres de la forêt chanteront de joie,
The fields and all things that are in them shall be joyful. Then shall all the trees of the woods rejoice
13 Au-devant de l'Eternel, parce qu'il vient, parce qu'il vient pour juger la terre; il jugera en justice le monde habitable, et les peuples selon sa fidélité.
Before the face of the Lord, because he cometh: because he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with his truth.
