Psaumes 92
1 Psaume de cantique, pour le jour du Sabbat. C'est une belle chose que de célébrer l'Eternel, et de psalmodier à ton Nom, ô Souverain!
Yahweh, it is good for people to thank you and to sing to praise you [MTY] who are greater than any other god.
2 Afin d'annoncer chaque matin ta bonté et ta fidélité toutes les nuits.
It is good to proclaim every morning that you faithfully love us, and each night [to sing songs that] declare that you always do what you have promised to do,
3 Sur l'instrument à dix cordes, et sur la musette, et par un Cantique [prémédité] sur la harpe.
accompanied by [musicians playing] harps that have ten strings, and by the sounds made by a lyre.
4 Car, ô Eternel! tu m' as réjoui par tes œuvres; je me réjouirai des œuvres de tes mains.
Yahweh, you have caused me to be glad; I sing joyfully because of what you [SYN] have done.
5 Ô Eternel! que tes œuvres sont magnifiques! tes pensées sont merveilleusement profondes.
Yahweh, the things that you do are great! But it is difficult for us to understand [all] that you think.
6 L'homme abruti n'y connaît rien, et le fou n'entend point ceci,
There are things [that you do] that foolish people cannot know about, things that stupid people cannot understand.
7 [Savoir], que les méchants croissent comme l'herbe, et que tous les ouvriers d'iniquité fleurissent, pour être exterminés éternellement.
They do not understand that although the number of wicked [people] increases [like blades of] grass do [SIM], and they prosper, they will be completely destroyed.
8 Mais toi, ô Eternel! tu es haut élevé à toujours.
But Yahweh, you [will] exalted/be honored/rule) forever.
9 Car voici tes ennemis, ô Eternel! car voici tes ennemis périront, [et] tous les ouvriers d'iniquité seront dissipés.
Yahweh, your enemies will [certainly] die, and those who do wicked things will be defeated/scattered.
10 Mais tu élèveras ma corne comme celle d'une licorne, [et] mon onction sera d'une huile toute fraîche.
But you have caused me to be as strong [MTY] as [SIM] a wild ox; you have caused me to be very joyful [MTY].
11 Et mon œil verra en ceux qui m'épient, et mes oreilles entendront touchant les malins, qui s'élèvent contre moi, [ce que je désire].
I [SYN] have seen you defeat my enemies; d I have heard those evil men wail/scream while they were being slaughtered.
12 Le juste fleurira comme la palme, il croîtra comme le cèdre au Liban.
But righteous [people] will prosper like [SIM] palm trees that grow well, or like [SIM] cedar [trees] that grow in Lebanon.
13 Etant plantés dans la maison de l'Eternel, ils fleuriront dans les parvis de notre Dieu.
[They are like the trees] that grow near the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem], those trees that are close to the courtyard of the temple of our God.
14 Encore porteront-ils des fruits dans la vieillesse toute blanche; ils seront en bon point, et demeureront verts;
[Even] when righteous people become old, they do many things [IDM] [that please God]. They remain strong and full of energy, [like trees that] [MET] remain full of sap.
15 Afin d'annoncer que l'Eternel [est] droit; c’est mon rocher, et il n'y a point d'injustice en lui.
That shows that Yahweh is just; he is [like a huge] rock [under which I am safe/protected], and he never does anything that is wicked/wrong.
