Psaumes 84
1 Psaume des enfants de Coré, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Guittith. Eternel des armées, combien sont aimables tes Tabernacles!
For the Leader; upon the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. How lovely are Thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
2 Mon âme désire ardemment, et même elle défaut après les parvis de l'Eternel; mon cœur et ma chair tressaillent de joie après le [Dieu] Fort et vivant.
My soul yearneth, yea, even pineth for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing for joy unto the living God.
3 Le passereau même a bien trouvé sa maison, et l'hirondelle son nid, où elle a mis ses petits; tes autels, ô Eternel des armées! mon Roi, et mon Dieu!
Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young; Thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God —.
4 Ô que bien-heureux sont ceux qui habitent en ta maison, et qui te louent incessamment! (Sélah)
Happy are they that dwell in Thy house, they are ever praising Thee. (Selah)
5 Ô que bien-heureux est l'homme dont la force est en toi, et ceux au cœur desquels sont les chemins battus!
Happy is the man whose strength is in Thee; in whose heart are the highways.
6 Passant par la vallée de Baca ils la réduisent en fontaine; la pluie aussi comble les marais.
Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; yea, the early rain clotheth it with blessings.
7 Ils marchent avec force pour se présenter devant Dieu en Sion.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.
8 Eternel Dieu des armées, écoute ma requête; Dieu de Jacob, prête l'oreille; (Sélah)
O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
9 Ô Dieu, notre bouclier, vois, et regarde la face de ton Oint.
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of Thine anointed.
10 Car mieux vaut un jour en tes parvis, que mille [ailleurs]. J'aimerais mieux me tenir à la porte en la maison de mon Dieu, que de demeurer dans les tentes des méchants.
For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand; I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 Car l'Eternel Dieu nous est un soleil et un bouclier; l'Eternel donne la grâce et la gloire, et il n'épargne aucun bien à ceux qui marchent dans l'intégrité.
For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD giveth grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 Eternel des armées, ô que bien-heureux est l'homme qui se confie en toi!
O LORD of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in Thee.
