Psaumes 71
1 Eternel! je me suis retiré vers toi, fais que je ne sois jamais confus.
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be ashamed.
2 Délivre-moi par ta justice, et me garantis: incline ton oreille vers moi, et me mets en sûreté.
Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me: bow down thine ear unto me, and save me.
3 Sois-moi pour un rocher de retraite, afin que je m'y puisse toujours retirer; tu as donné ordre de me mettre en sûreté; car tu es mon rocher, et ma forteresse.
Be thou to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
4 Mon Dieu! délivre-moi de la main du méchant, de la main du pervers, et de l'oppresseur.
Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 Car tu es mon attente, Seigneur Eternel! [et] ma confiance dès ma jeunesse.
For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: [thou art] my trust from my youth.
6 J'ai été appuyé sur toi dès le ventre [de ma mère]; c'est toi qui m'as tiré hors des entrailles de ma mère; tu es le sujet continuel de mes louanges.
By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
7 J'ai été à plusieurs comme un monstre; mais tu es ma forte retraite.
I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
8 Que ma bouche soit remplie de ta louange, et de ta magnificence chaque jour.
My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, and with thy honour all the day.
9 Ne me rejette point au temps de ma vieillesse; ne m'abandonne point maintenant que ma force est consumée.
Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
10 Car mes ennemis ont parlé de moi, et ceux qui épient mon âme ont pris conseil ensemble;
For mine enemies speak concerning me; and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,
11 Disant: Dieu l'a abandonné; poursuivez-le, et le saisissez; car il n'y a personne qui le délivre.
Saying, God hath forsaken him: pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.
12 Ô Dieu! ne t'éloigne point de moi; mon Dieu hâte-toi de venir à mon secours.
O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste to help me.
13 Que ceux qui sont ennemis de mon âme soient honteux et défaits; et que ceux qui cherchent mon mal soient enveloppés d'opprobre et de honte.
Let them be ashamed [and] consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
14 Mais moi je vivrai toujours en espérance en toi, et je te louerai tous les jours davantage.
But I will hope continually, and will praise thee yet more and more.
15 Ma bouche racontera chaque jour ta justice, [et] ta délivrance, bien que je n'en sache point le nombre.
My mouth shall tell of thy righteousness, [and] of thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers [thereof].
16 Je marcherai par la force du Seigneur Eternel; je raconterai ta seule justice.
I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
17 Ô Dieu! tu m'as enseigné dès ma jeunesse, et j'ai annoncé jusques à présent tes merveilles.
O God, thou hast taught me from my youth; and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
18 [Je les ai annoncées] jusqu’à la vieillesse, même jusques à la vieillesse toute blanche; ô Dieu! ne m'abandonne point jusqu’à ce que j'aie annoncé ton bras à cette génération, et ta puissance à tous ceux qui viendront après.
Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have declared thy strength unto [the next] generation, thy might to every one that is to come.
19 Car ta justice, ô Dieu! est haut élevée, parce que tu as fait de grandes choses. Ô Dieu qui est semblable à toi?
Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high; thou who hast done great things, O God, who is like unto thee?
20 Qui m'ayant fait voir plusieurs détresses et plusieurs maux, m'as de nouveau rendu la vie, et m'as fait remonter hors des abîmes de la terre?
Thou, which hast shewed us many and sore troubles, shalt quicken us again, and shalt bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
21 Tu accroîtras ma grandeur, et tu me consoleras encore.
Increase thou my greatness, and turn again and comfort me.
22 Aussi, mon Dieu! je te célébrerai pour l'amour de ta vérité avec l'instrument de la musette; ô Saint d'Israël, je te psalmodierai avec la harpe.
I will also praise thee with the psaltery, [even] thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing praises with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
23 Mes lèvres et mon âme, que tu auras rachetée, chanteront de joie, quand je te psalmodierai.
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing praises unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
24 Ma langue aussi discourra chaque jour de ta justice, parce que ceux qui cherchent mon mal seront honteux et rougiront.
My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are ashamed, for they are confounded, that seek my hurt.
