Psaumes 69
1 Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Sosannim. Délivre-moi, ô Dieu, car les eaux me sont entrées jusque dans l'âme.
Unto the end, for them that shall be changed; for David. SAVE me, O God: for the waters are come in even unto my soul.
2 Je suis enfoncé dans un bourbier profond, dans lequel il n'y a point où prendre pied; je suis entré au plus profond des eaux, et le fil des eaux se débordant, m'emporte.
I stick fast in the mire of the deep: and there is no sure standing. I am come into the depth of the sea: and a tempest hath overwhelmed me.
3 Je suis las de crier, mon gosier en est asséché; mes yeux sont consumés pendant que j'attends après mon Dieu.
I have laboured with crying; my jaws are become hoarse: my eyes have failed, whilst I hope in my God.
4 Ceux qui me haïssent sans cause, passent en nombre les cheveux de ma tête; ceux qui tâchent à me ruiner, et qui me sont ennemis à tort, se sont renforcés: j'ai alors rendu ce que je n'avais point ravi.
They are multiplied above the hairs of my head, who hate me without cause. My enemies are grown strong who have wrongfully persecuted me: then did I pay that which I took not away.
5 Ô Dieu! Tu connais ma folie, et mes fautes ne te sont point cachées.
O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my offences are not hidden from thee:
6 Ô Seigneur Eternel des armées! que ceux qui se confient en toi, ne soient point rendus honteux à cause de moi; [et] que ceux qui te cherchent ne soient point confus à cause de moi, ô Dieu d'Israël!
Let not them be ashamed for me, who look for thee, O Lord, the Lord of hosts. Let them not be confounded on my account, who seek thee, O God of Israel.
7 Car pour l'amour de toi j'ai souffert l'opprobre, la honte a couvert mon visage.
Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
8 Je suis devenu étranger à mes frères, et un homme de dehors aux enfants de ma mère.
I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to the sons of my mother.
9 Car le zèle de ta maison m'a rongé, et les outrages de ceux qui t'outrageaient sont tombés sur moi.
For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up: and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
10 Et j'ai pleuré en jeûnant: mais cela m'a été tourné en opprobre.
And I covered my soul in fasting: and it was made a reproach to me.
11 J'ai aussi pris un sac pour vêtement, mais je leur ai été un sujet de raillerie.
And I made haircloth my garment: and I became a byword to them.
12 Ceux qui sont assis à la porte discourent de moi, et je sers de chanson aux ivrognes.
They that sat in the gate spoke against me: and they that drank wine made me their song.
13 Mais, pour moi, ma requête s'adresse à toi, ô Eternel! Il y a un temps de [ton] bon plaisir, ô Dieu! selon la grandeur de ta gratuité. Réponds-moi selon la vérité de ta délivrance.
But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O Lord; for the time of thy good pleasure, O God. In the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
14 Délivre-moi du bourbier, fais que je n'y enfonce point, et que je sois délivré de ceux qui me haïssent, et des eaux profondes.
Draw me out of the mire, that I may not stick fast: deliver me from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Que le fil des eaux se débordant ne m'emporte point, et que le gouffre ne m'engloutisse point, et que le puits ne ferme point sa gueule sur moi.
Let not the tempest of water drown me, nor the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16 Eternel! Exauce-moi, car ta gratuité est bonne; tourne la face vers moi selon la grandeur de tes compassions;
Hear me, O Lord, for thy mercy is kind; look upon me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
17 Et ne cache point ta face arrière de ton serviteur, car je suis en détresse: hâte-toi, exauce-moi.
And turn not away thy face from thy servant: for I am in trouble, hear me speedily.
18 Approche-toi de mon âme, rachète-la; délivre-moi à cause de mes ennemis.
Attend to my soul, and deliver it: save me because of my enemies.
19 Tu connais toi-même mon opprobre, et ma honte, et mon ignominie; tous mes ennemis sont devant toi.
Thou knowest my reproach, and my confusion, and my shame.
20 L'opprobre m'a déchiré le cœur, et je suis languissant; j'ai attendu que quelqu'un eût compassion de moi, mais il n'y en a point eu: et j'ai attendu des consolateurs, mais je n'en ai point trouvé.
In thy sight are all they that afflict me; my heart hath expected reproach and misery. And I looked for one that would grieve together with me, but there was none: and for one that would comfort me, and I found none.
21 Ils m'ont au contraire donné du fiel pour mon repas; et dans ma soif ils m'ont abreuvé de vinaigre.
And they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Que leur table soit un filet tendu devant eux; et [que ce qui tend] à la prospérité [leur soit] en piège.
Let their table become as a snare before them, and a recompense, and a stumblingblock.
23 Que leurs yeux soient tellement obscurcis, qu'ils ne puissent point voir; et fais continuellement chanceler leurs reins.
Let their eyes be darkened that they see not; and their back bend thou down always.
24 Répands ton indignation sur eux, et que l'ardeur de ta colère les saisisse.
Pour out thy indignation upon them: and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Que leur palais soit désolé, et qu'il n'y ait personne qui habite dans leurs tentes.
Let their habitation be made desolate: and let there be none to dwell in their tabernacles.
26 Car ils persécutent celui que tu avais frappé, et font leurs contes de la douleur de ceux que tu avais blessés.
Because they have persecuted him whom thou hast smitten; and they have added to the grief of my wounds.
27 Mets iniquité sur leur iniquité; et qu'ils n'entrent point en ta justice.
Add thou iniquity upon their iniquity: and let them not come into thy justice.
28 Qu'ils soient effacés du Livre de vie, et qu'ils ne soient point écrits avec les justes.
Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; and with the just let them not be written.
29 Mais pour moi, qui suis affligé, et dans la douleur, ta délivrance, ô Dieu! m'élèvera en une haute retraite.
But I am poor and sorrowful: thy salvation, O God, hath set me up.
30 Je louerai le Nom de Dieu par des Cantiques, et je le magnifierai par une louange solennelle.
I will praise the name of God with a canticle: and I will magnify him with praise.
31 Et cela plaira plus à l'Eternel qu'un taureau, plus qu'un veau qui a des cornes, et l'ongle divisé.
And it shall please God better than a young calf, that bringeth forth horns and hoofs.
32 Les débonnaires le verront, [et] ils s'en réjouiront, et votre cœur vivra, [le cœur, dis-je, de vous tous] qui cherchez Dieu.
Let the poor see and rejoice: seek ye God, and your soul shall live.
33 Car l'Eternel exauce les misérables, et ne méprise point ses prisonniers.
For the Lord hath heard the poor: and hath not despised his prisoners.
34 Que les cieux et la terre le louent; que la mer et tout ce qui se meut en elle le louent aussi.
Let the heavens and the earth praise him; the sea, and every thing that creepeth therein.
35 Car Dieu délivrera Sion, et bâtira les villes de Juda; on y habitera, et on la possèdera.
For God will save Sion, and the cities of Juda shall be built up. And they shall dwell there, and acquire it by inheritance.
36 Et la postérité de ses serviteurs l'héritera, et ceux qui aiment son Nom demeureront en elle.
And the seed of his servants shall possess it; and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
