Psaumes 66
1 Cantique de Psaume, [donné] au maître chantre. Toute la terre, jetez des cris de réjouissance à Dieu.
To the chief Musician, A Song [or] Psalm. Make a joyful noise to God, all ye lands:
2 Psalmodiez la gloire de son Nom, rendez sa louange glorieuse.
Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious.
3 Dites à Dieu: ô que tu es terrible en tes exploits! Tes ennemis te mentiront à cause de la grandeur de ta force.
Say to God, How terrible [art thou in] thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thy enemies submit themselves to thee.
4 Toute la terre se prosternera devant toi, et te psalmodiera; elle psalmodiera ton Nom; (Sélah)
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing to thee; they shall sing [to] thy name. (Selah)
5 Venez, et voyez les œuvres de Dieu: il est terrible en exploits sur les fils des hommes.
Come and see the works of God: [he is] terrible [in his] doing towards the children of men.
6 Il a fait de la mer une terre sèche; on a passé le fleuve à pied sec; [et] là nous nous sommes réjouis en lui.
He turned the sea into dry [land]: they went through the flood on foot: there we rejoiced in him.
7 Il domine par sa puissance éternellement; ses yeux prennent garde sur les nations; les revêches ne se pourront point élever; (Sélah)
He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. (Selah)
8 Peuples, bénissez notre Dieu, et faites retentir le son de sa louange.
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
9 C'est lui qui a remis notre âme en vie, et qui n'a point permis que nos pieds bronchassent.
Who holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
10 Car, ô Dieu! tu nous avais sondés, tu nous avais affinés comme on affine l'argent.
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
11 Tu nous avais amenés aux filets, tu avais mis une étreinte en nos reins.
Thou hast brought us into the net; thou hast laid affliction upon our loins.
12 Tu avais fait monter les hommes sur notre tête, et nous étions entrés dans le feu et dans l'eau; mais tu nous as fait entrer en un lieu fertile.
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy [place].
13 J'entrerai dans ta maison avec des holocaustes; [et] je te rendrai mes vœux.
I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
14 Lesquels mes lèvres ont proférés, et que ma bouche a prononcés, lorsque j'étais en détresse.
Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 Je t'offrirai des holocaustes de bêtes mœlleuses, avec la graisse des moutons, laquelle on fait fumer; je te sacrifierai des taureaux et des boucs; (Sélah)
I will offer to thee burnt-sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. (Selah)
16 Vous tous qui craignez Dieu, venez, écoutez, et je raconterai ce qu'il a fait à mon âme.
Come [and] hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
17 Je l'ai invoqué de ma bouche, et il a été exalté par ma langue.
I cried to him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
18 Si j'eusse médité quelque outrage dans mon cœur, le Seigneur ne m'eût point écouté.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the LORD will not hear [me]:
19 Mais certainement Dieu m'a écouté, [et] il a été attentif à la voix de ma supplication.
[But] verily God hath heard [me]; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Béni soit Dieu qui n'a point rejeté ma supplication, et qui n'a point éloigné de moi sa gratuité.
Blessed [be] God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
