Psaumes 4
1 Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Néguinoth. Ô Dieu! de ma justice, puisque je crie, réponds-moi; quand j'étais à l'étroit, tu m'as mis au large; aie pitié de moi, et exauce ma requête.
To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of Dauid. Heare me when I call, O God of my righteousnes: thou hast set me at libertie, when I was in distresse: haue mercie vpon me and hearken vnto my prayer.
2 Gens d'autorité, jusqu'à quand ma gloire sera-t-elle diffamée? [jusqu'à quand] aimerez-vous la vanité, et chercherez-vous le mensonge? (Sélah)
O ye sonnes of men, howe long will yee turne my glory into shame, louing vanitie, and seeking lyes? (Selah)
3 Or sachez que l'Eternel s'est choisi un bien-aimé. L'Eternel m'exaucera quand je crierai vers lui.
For be ye sure that the Lord hath chosen to himselfe a godly man: the Lord will heare when I call vnto him.
4 Tremblez, et ne péchez point; pensez en vous-mêmes sur votre couche, et demeurez tranquilles. (Sélah)
Tremble, and sinne not: examine your owne heart vpon your bed, and be still. (Selah)
5 Sacrifiez des sacrifices de justice, et confiez-vous en l'Eternel.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousnes, and trust in the Lord.
6 Plusieurs disent: qui nous fera voir des biens? Lève sur nous la clarté de ta face, ô Eternel!
Many say, Who will shewe vs any good? but Lord, lift vp the light of thy countenance vpon vs.
7 Tu as mis plus de joie dans mon cœur, qu'ils n'en ont au temps que leur froment et leur meilleur vin ont été abondants.
Thou hast giuen mee more ioye of heart, then they haue had, when their wheate and their wine did abound.
8 Je me coucherai et je dormirai aussi en paix; car toi seul, ô Eternel! me feras habiter en assurance.
I will lay mee downe, and also sleepe in peace: for thou, Lord, onely makest me dwell in safetie.
