Psaumes 36
1 Psaume de David, serviteur de l'Eternel, [donné] au maître chantre. La transgression du méchant me dit au-dedans du cœur, qu'il n'y a point de crainte de Dieu devant ses yeux.
Unto the end, for the servant of God, David himself. The unjust hath said within himself, that he would sin: there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 Car il se flatte en soi-même quand son iniquité se présente pour être haïe.
For in his sight he hath done deceitfully, that his iniquity may be found unto hatred.
3 Les paroles de sa bouche ne sont qu'injustice et que fraude, il se garde d'être attentif à bien faire.
The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile: he would not understand that he might do well.
4 Il machine sur son lit les moyens de nuire; il s'arrête au chemin qui n'est pas bon; il n'a point en horreur le mal.
He hath devised iniquity on his bed, he hath set himself on every way that is not good: but evil he hath not hated.
5 Eternel, ta gratuité atteint jusqu'aux cieux, ta fidélité jusqu'aux nues.
O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth, even to the clouds.
6 Ta justice est comme de hautes montagnes, tes jugements sont un grand abîme. Eternel, tu conserves les hommes et les bêtes.
Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord:
7 Ô Dieu! combien est précieuse ta gratuité! aussi les fils des hommes se retirent sous l'ombre de tes ailes.
O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings.
8 Ils seront abondamment rassasiés de la graisse de ta maison, et tu les abreuveras au fleuve de tes délices.
They shall be inebriated with the plenty of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the torrent of thy pleasure.
9 Car la source de la vie est par-devers toi, [et] par ta clarté nous voyons clair.
For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light we shall see light.
10 Continue ta gratuité sur ceux qui te connaissent, et ta justice sur ceux qui sont droits de cœur.
Extend thy mercy to them that know thee, and thy justice to them that are right in heart.
11 Que le pied de l'orgueilleux ne s'avance point sur moi, et que la main des méchants ne m'ébranle point.
Let not the foot of pride come to me, and let not the hand of the sinner move me.
12 Là sont tombés les ouvriers d'iniquité, ils ont été renversés, et n'ont pu se relever.
There the workers of iniquity are fallen, they are cast out, and could not stand.
