Psaumes 122

1 Cantique de Mahaloth, de David. Je me suis réjoui à cause de ceux qui me disaient: nous irons à la maison de l'Eternel.

I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord.

2 Nos pieds se sont arrêté en tes portes, ô Jérusalem!

Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem.

3 Jérusalem, qui est bâtie comme une ville dont les habitants sont fort unis,

Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together.

4 A laquelle montent les Tribus, les Tribus de l'Eternel, ce qui est un témoignage à Israël, pour célébrer le Nom de l’Eternel.

For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord.

5 Car c'est là qu'ont été posés les sièges pour juger, les sièges, [dis-je], de la maison de David.

Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.

6 Priez pour la paix de Jérusalem; que ceux qui t'aiment jouissent de la prospérité.

Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee.

7 Que la paix soit à ton avant-mur, et la prospérité dans tes palais.

Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers.

8 Pour l'amour de mes frères et de mes amis, je prierai maintenant pour ta paix.

For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee.

9 A cause de la maison de l'Eternel notre Dieu je procurerai ton bien.

Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee.
