Psaumes 120

1 Cantique de Mahaloth. J'ai invoqué l'Eternel en ma grande détresse, et il m'a exaucé.

A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he answered me.

2 Eternel, délivre mon âme des fausses lèvres, et de la langue trompeuse.

Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, [and] from a deceitful tongue.

3 Que te donnera, et te profitera la langue trompeuse?

What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?

4 Ce sont des flèches aiguës tirées par un homme puissant, et des charbons de genèvre.

Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 Hélas! Que je suis misérable de séjourner en Mésech, et de demeurer aux tentes de Kédar!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6 Que mon âme ait tant demeuré avec celui qui hait la paix!

My soul hath long had her dwelling with him that hateth peace.

7 Je [ne cherche que] la paix, mais lorsque j'en parle, les voilà à la guerre.

I am [for] peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
