Nombres 13
1 Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant:
And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
2 Envoie des hommes pour reconnaître le pays de Canaan, que je donne aux enfants d'Israël. Vous enverrez un homme de chaque Tribu de leurs pères, tous des principaux d'entr'eux.
Send for yourself men so they may spy out [the] land of Canaan which I [am] about to give to [the] people of Israel a man one a man one for [the] tribe of ancestors his you will send every [one] a leader among them.
3 Moïse donc les envoya du désert de Paran, selon le commandement de l'Eternel; et tous ces hommes étaient chefs des enfants d'Israël.
And he sent them Moses from [the] wilderness of Paran on [the] mouth of Yahweh all of them [were] men [who were] [the] heads of [the] people of Israel they.
4 Et ce sont ici leurs noms: De la Tribu de Ruben, Sammuah, fils de Zaccur.
And these [are] names their for [the] tribe of Reuben Shammua [the] son of Zaccur.
5 De la Tribu de Siméon, Saphat, fils de Hori.
For [the] tribe of Simeon Shaphat [the] son of Hori.
6 De la Tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Jéphunné.
For [the] tribe of Judah Caleb [the] son of Jephunneh.
7 De la Tribu d'Issacar, Jigueal, fils de Joseph.
For [the] tribe of Issachar Igal [the] son of Joseph.
8 De la Tribu d'Ephraïm, Osée, fils de Nun.
For [the] tribe of Ephraim Hoshea [the] son of Nun.
9 De la Tribu de Benjamin, Palti, fils de Raphu.
For [the] tribe of Benjamin Palti [the] son of Raphu.
10 De la Tribu de Zabulon, Gaddiel, fils de Sodi.
For [the] tribe of Zebulun Gaddiel [the] son of Sodi.
11 De l'autre Tribu de Joseph, [savoir] de la Tribu de Manassé, Gaddi, fils de Susi.
For [the] tribe of Joseph for [the] tribe of Manasseh Gaddi [the] son of Susi.
12 De la Tribu de Dan, Hammiel, fils de Guemalli.
For [the] tribe of Dan Ammiel [the] son of Gemalli.
13 De la Tribu d'Aser, Séthur, fils de Micaël.
For [the] tribe of Asher Sethur [the] son of Michael.
14 De la Tribu de Nephthali, Nahbi, fils de Vaphsi.
For [the] tribe of Naphtali Nahbi [the] son of Vopshi.
15 De la Tribu de Gad, Guéuel, fils de Maki.
For [the] tribe of Gad Geuel [the] son of Maki.
16 Ce [sont] là les noms des hommes que Moïse envoya pour reconnaître le pays. Or Moïse avait nommé Osée, fils de Nun, Josué.
These [are] [the] names of the men whom he sent Moses to spy out the land and he called Moses Hoshea [the] son of Nun Joshua.
17 Moïse donc les envoya pour reconnaître le pays de Canaan, et il leur dit: Montez de ce côté vers le Midi, puis vous monterez sur la montagne.
And he sent them Moses to spy out [the] land of Canaan and he said to them go up this in the Negev and you will go up the hill country.
18 Et vous verrez quel est ce pays-là, et quel est le peuple qui l'habite, s'il est fort, ou faible; s'il est en petit ou en grand nombre.
And you will see the land what? [is] it and the people which dwells on it ¿ strong [is] it ¿ feeble ¿ few [is] it or? many.
19 Et quel est le pays où il habite, s'il est bon ou mauvais; et quelles [sont] les villes dans lesquelles il habite, si c'est dans des tentes, ou dans des villes closes.
And what? [is] the land which it [is] dwelling in it ¿ good [is] it or? bad and what? [are] the cities which it [is] dwelling in them ¿ in camps or? in fortresses.
20 Et quel est le terroir, s'il est gras ou maigre, s'il y a des arbres, ou non. Ayez bon courage, et prenez du fruit du pays. Or c'était alors le temps des premiers raisins.
And what? [is] the land ¿ fat [is] it or? lean ¿ [is] there in it wood or? not and you will show yourselves strong and you will take some of [the] fruit of the land and the days [were the] days of [the] first-fruits of grapes.
21 Etant donc partis, ils examinèrent le pays, depuis le désert de Tsin jusqu'à Réhob, à l'entrée de Hamath.
And they went up and they spied out the land from [the] wilderness of Zin to Rehob Lebo Hamath.
22 Ils montèrent donc vers le Midi, et vinrent jusqu'à Hébron, où étaient Ahiman, Sésaï, et Talmaï, issus de Hanak. Or Hébron avait été bâtie sept ans avant Tsohan d'Egypte.
And they went up in the Negev and he came to Hebron and [were] there Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai those born of Anak and Hebron seven years it was built before Zoan Egypt.
23 Et ils vinrent jusqu'au torrent d'Escol, et coupèrent de là un sarment de vigne, avec une grappe de raisins; et ils étaient deux à le porter avec un levier. Ils apportèrent aussi des grenades et des figues.
And they came to [the] wadi of Eshcol and they cut down from there a branch and a cluster of grapes one and they carried it on the pole two and some of the pomegranates and some of the figs.
24 Et on appela ce lieu-là Nahal-Escol; à l'occasion de la grappe que les enfants d'Israël y coupèrent.
the Place that someone called [the] wadi of Eshcol on [the] causes of the cluster which they cut down from there [the] people of Israel.
25 Et au bout de quarante jours ils furent de retour du pays qu'ils étaient allés reconnaître.
And they returned from spying out the land from [the] end of forty day[s].
26 Et étant arrivés, ils vinrent vers Moïse et Aaron, et vers toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël, au désert de Padan en Kadès; et leur ayant fait leur rapport, et à toute l'assemblée, ils leur montrèrent du fruit du pays.
And they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel to [the] wilderness of Paran Kadesh towards and they brought back them word and all the congregation and they showed them [the] fruit of the land.
27 Ils firent donc leur rapport à Moïse, et lui dirent: Nous avons été au pays où tu nous avais envoyés; et véritablement c'est un pays découlant de lait et de miel, et c'est ici de son fruit.
And they recounted to him and they said we went into the land which you sent us and also [is] flowing of milk and honey it and this [is] fruit its.
28 Il y a seulement ceci, que le peuple qui habite au pays est robuste, et les villes sont closes, [et] fort grandes; nous y avons vu aussi les enfants de Hanak.
Nevertheless for [is] strong the people which dwells in the land and the cities [are] fortified large very and also those born of Anak we saw there.
29 Les Hamalécites habitent au pays du Midi; et les Héthiens, les Jébusiens, et les Amorrhéens habitent en la montagne; et les Cananéens habitent le long de la mer, et vers le rivage du Jourdain.
Amalek [is] dwelling in [the] land of the Negev and the Hittite[s] and the Jebusite[s] and the Amorite[s] [is] dwelling in the hill country and the Canaanite[s] [is] dwelling at the sea and on [the] side of the Jordan.
30 Alors Caleb fit taire le peuple devant Moïse, et dit: Montons hardiment, et possédons ce pays-là, car certainement nous y serons les plus forts.
And he silenced Caleb the people to Moses and he said certainly we will go up and we will take possession of it for certainly we will prevail to it.
31 Mais les hommes qui étaient montés avec lui, dirent: Nous ne saurions monter contre ce peuple-là, car il est plus fort que nous.
And the men who they had gone up with him they said not we are able to go up against the people for [is] strong it more than us.
32 Et ils décrièrent devant les enfants d'Israël le pays qu'ils avaient examiné, en disant: Le pays par lequel nous sommes passés pour le reconnaître [est] un pays qui consume ses habitants, et tous le peuple que nous y avons vus, sont des gens de grande stature.
And they brought out bad report of the land which they had spied out it to [the] people of Israel saying the land which we passed in it to spy out it [is] a land [which] devours inhabitants its it and all the people which we saw in [the] midst of it [were] men of stature.
33 Nous y avons vu aussi des géants, des enfants de Hanak, de la race des géants; et nous ne paraissions auprès d'eux que comme des sauterelles.
And there we saw the Nephilim [the] descendants of Anak [were] from the Nephilim and we were in own eyes our like grasshoppers and thus we were in view their.
