1 Puis l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
2 Fais-toi deux trompettes d'argent, fais-les d'ouvrage battu au marteau; et elles te serviront pour convoquer l'assemblée, et pour faire partir les compagnies.
'Make to thee two trumpets of silver; beaten work thou dost make them, and they have been to thee for the convocation of the company, and for the journeying of the camps;
3 Quand on en sonnera, toute l'assemblée s'assemblera vers toi à l'entrée du Tabernacle d'assignation.
and they have blown with them, and all the company have met together unto thee, unto the opening of the tent of meeting.
4 Et quand on sonnera d'une seule, les principaux, qui sont les chefs des milliers d'Israël, s'assembleront vers toi.
And if with one they blow, then have the princes, heads of the thousands of Israel, met together unto thee;
5 Mais quand vous sonnerez avec un retentissement bruyant, les compagnies qui sont campées vers l'Orient partiront.
'And ye have blown — a shout, and the camps which are encamping eastward have journeyed.
6 Et quand vous sonnerez la seconde fois avec un retentissement bruyant, les compagnies qui sont campées vers le Midi partiront; on sonnera avec un retentissement bruyant, quand on voudra partir.
'And ye have blown — a second shout, and the camps which are encamping southward have journeyed; a shout they blow for their journeys.
7 Et quand vous convoquerez l'assemblée, vous sonnerez, mais non point avec un retentissement bruyant.
'And in the assembling of the assembly ye blow, and do not shout;
8 Or les fils d'Aaron Sacrificateurs, sonneront des trompettes; et ceci vous sera une ordonnance perpétuelle en vos âges.
and sons of Aaron, the priests, blow with the trumpets; and they have been to you for a statute age-during to your generations.
9 Et quand vous marcherez en bataille dans votre pays contre votre ennemi, venant vous attaquer; vous sonnerez des trompettes avec un retentissement bruyant, et l'Eternel votre Dieu se souviendra de vous, et vous serez délivrés de vos ennemis.
'And when ye go into battle in your land against the adversary who is distressing you, then ye have shouted with the trumpets, and ye have been remembered before Jehovah your God, and ye have been saved from your enemies.
10 Aussi dans vos jours de joie, dans vos fêtes solennelles, et au commencement de vos mois, vous sonnerez des trompettes sur vos holocaustes, et sur vos sacrifices de prospérités, et elles vous serviront de mémorial devant votre Dieu; je [suis] l'Eternel, votre Dieu.
'And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed seasons, and in the beginnings of your months, ye have blown also with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings, and they have been to you for a memorial before your God; I, Jehovah, [am] your God.'
11 Or il arriva le vingtième jour du second mois de la seconde année, que la nuée se leva de dessus le pavillon du Témoignage.
And it cometh to pass — in the second year, in the second month, in the twentieth of the month — the cloud hath gone up from off the tabernacle of the testimony,
12 Et les enfants d'Israël partirent selon leurs traittes, du désert de Sinaï, et la nuée se posa au désert de Paran.
and the sons of Israel journey in their journeyings from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud doth tabernacle in the wilderness of Paran;
13 Ils partirent donc pour la première fois, suivant le commandement de l'Eternel, déclaré par Moïse.
and they journey at first, by the command of Jehovah, in the hand of Moses.
14 Et la bannière des compagnies des enfants de Juda partit la première, selon leurs troupes; et Nahasson, fils de Hamminadab, conduisait la bande de Juda;
And the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah journeyeth in the first [place], by their hosts, and over its host [is] Nahshon son of Amminadab.
15 Et Nathanaël, fils de Tsuhar, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants d'Issacar.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar [is] Nathaneel son of Zuar.
16 Et Eliab, fils de Hélon, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Zabulon.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun [is] Eliab son of Helon;
17 Et le pavillon fut désassemblé; puis les enfants de Guerson, et les enfants de Mérari, qui portaient le pavillon, partirent.
And the tabernacle hath been taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari have journeyed, bearing the tabernacle.
18 Puis la bannière des compagnies de Ruben partit, selon leurs troupes; et Elitsur, fils de Sédéur, conduisait la bande de Ruben.
And the standard of the camp of Reuben hath journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host [is] Elizur son of Shedeur.
19 Et Sélumiel, fils de Tsurisaddaï, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Siméon.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon [is] Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
20 Et Eliasaph, fils de Déhuël, conduisait la bande des enfants de Gad.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Gad [is] Eliasaph son of Deuel;
21 Alors les Kéhathites, qui portaient le Sanctuaire, partirent; cependant on dressait le Tabernacle, tandis que ceux-ci venaient.
And the Kohathites have journeyed, bearing the tabernacle, and the [others] have raised up the tabernacle until their coming in.
22 Puis la bannière des compagnies des enfants d'Ephraïm partit, selon leurs troupes; et Elisamah, fils de Hammihud, conduisait la bande d'Ephraïm.
And the standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim hath journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host [is] Elishama son of Ammihud.
23 Et Gamaliel, fils de Pédatsur, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Manassé.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh [is] Gamalial son of Pedahzur.
24 Et Abidan, fils de Guidhoni, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Benjamin.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin [is] Abidan son of Gideoni.
25 Enfin la bannière des compagnies des enfants de Dan, qui faisait l'arrière-garde, partit, selon leurs troupes; et Ahihézer, fils de Hammisaddaï, conduisait la bande de Dan.
And the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan hath journeyed (rearward to all the camps), by their hosts, and over its host [is] Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26 Et Paghiel, fils de Hocran, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants d'Aser.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Asher [is] Pagiel son of Ocran.
27 Et Ahirah, fils de Hénan, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Nephthali.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali [is] Ahira son of Enan.
28 Tels étaient les décampements des enfants d'Israël selon leurs troupes, quand ils partaient.
These [are] journeyings of the sons of Israel by their hosts — and they journey.
29 Or Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de Réhuel Madianite, son beau-père: Nous allons au lieu duquel l'Eternel a dit, je vous le donnerai. Viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien; car l'Eternel a promis de faire du bien à Israël.
And Moses saith to Hobab son of Raguel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses, 'We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah hath said, I give it to you; go with us, and we have done good to thee; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.'
30 Et Hobab lui répondit: Je n'y irai point, mais je m'en irai en mon pays, et vers ma parenté.
And he saith unto him, 'I do not go; but unto my land and unto my kindred do I go.'
31 Et Moïse lui dit: Je te prie, ne nous quitte point; car tu nous serviras de guide, parce que tu connais les lieux où nous aurons à camper dans le désert.
And he saith, 'I pray thee, forsake us not, because thou hast known our encamping in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us for eyes;
32 Et il arrivera que quand tu seras venu avec nous, et que le bien que l'Eternel nous doit faire sera arrivé, nous te ferons aussi du bien.
and it hath come to pass when thou goest with us, yea, it hath come to pass — that good which Jehovah doth kindly with us — it we have done kindly to thee.'
33 Ainsi ils partirent de la montagne de l'Eternel, [et ils marchèrent] le chemin de trois jours; et l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel alla devant eux pendant le chemin de trois jours pour chercher un lieu où ils se reposassent.
And they journey from the mount of Jehovah a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is journeying before them the journey of three days, to spy out for them a resting-place;
34 Et la nuée de l'Eternel était sur eux le jour, quand ils partaient du lieu où ils avaient campé.
and the cloud of Jehovah [is] on them by day, in their journeying from the camp.
35 Or il arrivait qu'au départ de l'Arche, Moïse disait: Lève-toi, ô Eternel, et tes ennemis seront dispersés, et ceux qui te haïssent s'enfuiront de devant toi.
And it cometh to pass in the journeying of the ark, that Moses saith, 'Rise, O Jehovah, and Thine enemies are scattered, and those hating Thee flee from Thy presence.'
36 Et quand on la posait, il disait: Retourne, ô Eternel, aux dix mille milliers d'Israël.
And in its resting he saith, 'Return, O Jehovah, [to] the myriads, the thousands of Israel.'
