Matthieu 1
1 Le Livre de la Généalogie de Jésus-Christ, fils de David, fils d'Abraham.
This is the boke of the generacion of Iesus Christ the sonne of Dauid the sonne also of Abraham.
2 Abraham engendra Isaac; et Isaac engendra Jacob; et Jacob engendra Juda, et ses frères;
Abraham begat Isaac: Isaac begat Iacob: Iacob begat Iudas and his brethren:
3 Et Juda engendra Pharès et Zara, de Thamar; et Pharès engendra Esrom; et Esrom engendra Aram;
Iudas begat Phares and zaram of Thamar: Phares begat Hesrom: Hesrom begat Aram:
4 Et Aram engendra Aminadab; et Aminadab engendra Naasson; et Naasson engendra Salmon;
Aram begat Aminadab: Aminadab begat Naasson: Naasson begat Salmon:
5 Et Salmon engendra Booz, de Rachab; et Booz engendra Obed, de Ruth; et Obed engendra Jessé;
Salmon begat Boos of Rahab: Boos begat Obed of Ruth: Obed begat Iesse:
6 Et Jessé engendra le Roi David; et le Roi David engendra Salomon, de celle [qui avait été femme] d'Urie;
Iesse begat Dauid the kynge: Dauid the kynge begat Salomon of her that was the wyfe of Vry:
7 Et Salomon engendra Roboam; et Roboam engendra Abia; et Abia engendra Asa;
Salomon begat Roboam: Roboam begat Abia: Abia begat Asa:
8 Et Asa engendra Josaphat; et Josaphat engendra Joram; et Joram engendra Hozias;
Asa begat Iosaphat: Iosaphat begat Ioram: Ioram begat Osias:
9 Et Hozias engendra Joatham; et Joatham engendra Achaz; et Achaz engendra Ezéchias;
Osias begat Ioatham: Ioatham begat Achas: Achas begat Ezechias:
10 Et Ezéchias engendra Manassé; et Manassé engendra Amon; et Amon engendra Josias;
Ezechias begat Manasses: Manasses begat Amon: Amon begat Iosias:
11 Et Josias engendra Jakim; et Jakim engendra Jéchonias, et ses frères, vers le temps qu'ils furent transportés en Babylone.
Iosias begat Iechonias and his brethren aboute ye tyme they were caryed awaye to Babylon.
12 Et après qu'ils eurent été transportés en Babylone, Jéchonias engendra Salathiël; et Salathiël engendra Zorobabel;
And after they were brought to Babylon Iechonias begat Salathiel: Salathiel begat Zorobabel:
13 Et Zorobabel engendra Abiud; et Abiud engendra Eliakim; et Eliakim engendra Azor;
Zorobabel begat Abiud: Abiud begat Eliachim: Eliachim begat Azor:
14 Et Azor engendra Sadoc; et Sadoc engendra Achim; et Achim engendra Eliud;
Azor begat Sadoc: Sadoc begat Achin: Achin begat Eliud:
15 Et Eliud engendra Eléazar; et Eléazar engendra Matthan; et Matthan engendra Jacob;
Eliud begat Eleasar: Eleasar begat Matthan: Matthan begat Iacob:
16 Et Jacob engendra Joseph, le mari de Marie, de laquelle est né Jésus, qui est appelé Christ.
Iacob begat Ioseph the husbande of Mary of which was boren that Iesus that is called Christ.
17 Ainsi toutes les générations depuis Abraham jusqu'à David, sont quatorze générations; et depuis David jusqu'au temps qu'ils furent transportés en Babylone, quatorze générations; et depuis qu'ils eurent été transportés en Babylone jusqu'à Christ, quatorze générations.
All the generacions from Abraham to David are fowretene generacios. And fro David vnto the captivite of Babylon are fowretene generacions. And from the captivite of Babylon vnto Christ are also fowrtene generacios.
18 Or la naissance de Jésus-Christ arriva en cette manière. Comme Marie sa mère eut été fiancée à Joseph, avant qu'ils fussent ensemble, elle se trouva enceinte [par l'opération] du Saint-Esprit.
The byrthe of Iesus Christ was on thys wyse. When hys mother Mary was betrouthed to Ioseph before they came to dwell to gedder she was foude with chylde by ye holy goost.
19 Et Joseph son mari, parce qu'il était juste, et qu'il ne la voulait point diffamer, la voulut renvoyer secrètement.
The Ioseph her husbande beinge a perfect ma and loth to make an ensample of hir was mynded to put her awaye secretely.
20 Mais comme il pensait à ces choses, voici, l'Ange du Seigneur lui apparut dans un songe, et lui dit: Joseph, fils de David, ne crains point de recevoir Marie ta femme; car ce qui a été conçu en elle est du Saint-Esprit.
Whill he thus thought behold ye angell of ye Lorde appered vnto him in a dreame saynge: Ioseph ye sonne of David feare not to take vnto ye Mary thy wyfe. For that which is coceaved in her is of the holy goost.
21 Et elle enfantera un fils, et tu appelleras son nom Jésus; car il sauvera son peuple de leurs péchés.
She shall brynge forthe a sonne and thou shalt call his name Iesus. For he shall save his peple from their synnes.
22 Or tout ceci est arrivé afin que fût accompli ce dont le Seigneur avait parlé par le Prophète, en disant:
All this was done to fulfill yt which was spoken of the Lorde by the Prophet saynge:
23 Voici, la Vierge sera enceinte, et elle enfantera un fils; et on appellera son nom Emmanuël, ce qui signifie, DIEU AVEC NOUS.
Beholde a mayde shall be with chylde and shall brynge forthe a sonne and they shall call his name Emanuel which is by interpretacion God with vs.
24 Joseph étant donc réveillé de son sommeil, fit comme l'Ange du Seigneur lui avait commandé, et reçut sa femme.
And Ioseph assone as he awoke out of slepe did as the angell of the Lorde bade hym and toke hys wyfe vnto hym
25 Mais il ne la connut point jusqu'à ce qu'elle eût enfanté son fils premier-né; et il appela son nom Jésus.
and knewe her not tyll she had brought forth hir fyrst sonne and called hys name Iesus.
