Marc 8
1 En ces jours-là comme il y avait là une fort grande multitude, et qu'ils n'avaient rien à manger, Jésus appela ses Disciples, et leur dit:
In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples [unto him], and saith unto them,
2 Je suis ému de compassion envers cette multitude, car il y a déjà trois jours qu'ils ne bougent d'avec moi, et ils n'ont rien à manger.
I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
3 Et si je les renvoie à jeûn en leurs maisons, ils tomberont en défaillance par le chemin, car quelques-uns d'eux sont venus de loin.
And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
4 Et ses Disciples lui répondirent: d'où les pourra-t-on rassasier de pains, ici, dans un désert?
And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these [men] with bread here in the wilderness?
5 Et il leur demanda: combien avez-vous de pains? Ils lui dirent: Sept.
And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
6 Alors il commanda aux troupes de s'asseoir par terre, et il prit les sept pains, et après avoir béni [Dieu] il les rompit, et les donna à ses Disciples pour les mettre devant les troupes; et ils les mirent devant elles.
And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before [them]; and they did set [them] before the people.
7 Ils avaient aussi quelque peu de petits poissons; et après qu'il eut béni [Dieu], il commanda qu'ils les leur missent aussi devant.
And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before [them].
8 Et ils en mangèrent, et furent rassasiés; et on remporta du reste des pièces de pain sept corbeilles.
So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken [meat] that was left seven baskets.
9 (Or ceux qui en avaient mangé étaient environ quatre mille). Et ensuite il leur donna congé.
And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
10 Et aussitôt après il monta dans une nacelle avec ses Disciples, et alla aux quartiers de Dalmanutha.
And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
11 Et il vint là des Pharisiens qui se mirent à disputer avec lui, et qui pour l'éprouver, lui demandèrent quelque miracle du ciel.
And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
12 Alors [Jésus] soupirant profondément en son esprit, dit: pourquoi cette génération demande-t-elle un miracle? en vérité je vous dis, qu'il ne lui en sera point accordé.
And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.
13 Et les laissant, il remonta dans la nacelle, et passa à l'autre rivage.
And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.
14 Or ils avaient oublié de prendre des pains, et ils n'en avaient qu'un avec eux dans la nacelle.
Now [the disciples] had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
15 Et il leur commanda, disant: voyez, donnez-vous de garde du levain des Pharisiens, et du levain d'Hérode.
And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and [of] the leaven of Herod.
16 Et ils discouraient entre eux, disant: c'est parce que nous n'avons point de pains.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, [It is] because we have no bread.
17 Et Jésus connaissant cela, leur dit: pourquoi discourez-vous touchant ce que vous n'avez point de pains? ne considérez-vous point encore, et ne comprenez-vous point? avez-vous encore votre cœur stupide?
And when Jesus knew [it], he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
18 Ayant des yeux, ne voyez-vous point? ayant des oreilles, n'entendez-vous point? et n'avez-vous point de mémoire?
Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
19 Quand je distribuai les cinq pains aux cinq mille hommes, combien recueillîtes-vous de corbeilles pleines des pièces qu'il y eut de reste? ils lui dirent: douze.
When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
20 Et quand je distribuai les sept pains aux quatre mille hommes, combien recueillîtes-vous de corbeilles pleines des pièces qu'il y eut de reste? ils lui dirent: sept.
And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
21 Et il leur dit: comment n'avez-vous point d'intelligence?
And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
22 Puis il vint à Bethsaïda, et on lui présenta un aveugle, en le priant qu'il le touchât.
And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
23 Alors il prit la main de l'aveugle, et le mena hors de la bourgade, et ayant mis de sa salive sur ses yeux, et posé les mains sur lui, il lui demanda s'il voyait quelque chose.
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
24 Et cet homme ayant regardé, dit: Je vois des hommes qui marchent, et qui [me paraissent] comme des arbres.
And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
25 [Jésus] lui mit encore les mains sur les yeux, et lui commanda de regarder; et il fut rétabli, et les voyait tous de loin clairement.
After that he put [his] hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
26 Puis il le renvoya en sa maison, en lui disant: n'entre point dans la bourgade, et ne le dis à personne de la bourgade.
And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell [it] to any in the town.
27 Et Jésus et ses Disciples étant partis de là, ils vinrent aux bourgades de Césarée de Philippe, et sur le chemin il interrogea ses Disciples leur disant: qui disent les hommes que je suis?
And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Cæsarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
28 Ils répondirent: [les uns disent que tu es] Jean Baptiste; les autres, Elie; et les autres, l'un des Prophètes.
And they answered, John the Baptist: but some [say], Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
29 Alors il leur dit: et vous, qui dites vous que je suis? Pierre répondant lui dit: tu es le Christ.
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
30 Et il leur défendit avec menaces, de dire cela de lui à personne.
And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
31 Et il commença à leur enseigner qu'il fallait que le Fils de l'homme souffrît beaucoup, et qu'il fût rejeté des Anciens, et des principaux Sacrificateurs, et des Scribes; et qu'il fût mis à mort, et qu'il ressuscitât trois jours après.
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and [of] the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 Et il tenait ces discours tout ouvertement; sur quoi Pierre le prit [en particulier], et se mit à le reprendre.
And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
33 Mais lui se retournant, et regardant ses Disciples, tança Pierre, en lui disant: va arrière de moi, Satan; car tu ne comprends pas les choses qui sont de Dieu, mais celles qui sont des hommes.
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
34 Puis ayant appelé les troupes et ses Disciples, il leur dit: quiconque veut venir après moi, qu'il renonce à soi même, et qu'il charge sa croix, et me suive.
And when he had called the people [unto him] with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 Car quiconque voudra sauver son âme, la perdra; mais quiconque perdra son âme pour l'amour de moi et de l'Evangile, celui-là la sauvera.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
36 Car que profiterait-il à un homme de gagner tout le monde, s'il fait la perte de son âme?
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Ou que donnera l'homme en échange de son âme?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 Car quiconque aura eu honte de moi et de mes paroles parmi cette nation adultère et pécheresse, le Fils de l'homme aura aussi honte de lui, quand il sera venu environné de la gloire de son Père avec les saints Anges.
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
