Marc 10
1 Puis étant parti de là, il vint sur les confins de la Judée, au delà du Jourdain, et les troupes s'étant encore assemblées auprès de lui, il les enseignait comme il avait accoutumé.
And rising up from thence, he cometh into the coasts of Judea beyond the Jordan: and the multitudes flock to him again. And as he was accustomed, he taught them again.
2 Alors des Pharisiens vinrent à lui, et pour l'éprouver ils lui demandèrent: est-il permis à un homme de répudier sa femme?
And the Pharisees coming to him asked him: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
3 Il répondit, et leur dit: qu'est-ce que Moïse vous a commandé?
But he answering, saith to them: What did Moses command you?
4 Ils dirent: Moïse a permis d'écrire la Lettre de divorce, et de répudier [ainsi sa femme].
Who said: Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put her away.
5 Et Jésus répondant leur dit: il vous a donné ce commandement à cause de la dureté de votre cœur.
To whom Jesus answering, said: Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you that precept.
6 Mais au commencement de la création, Dieu fit un homme et une femme.
But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
7 C'est pourquoi l'homme laissera son père et sa mère, et s'attachera à sa femme;
For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife.
8 Et les deux seront une seule chair: ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair.
And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh.
9 Que l'homme donc ne sépare pas ce que Dieu a joint.
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
10 Puis ses Disciples l'interrogèrent encore sur cela même dans la maison.
And in the house again his disciples asked him concerning the same thing.
11 Et il leur dit: quiconque laissera sa femme, et se mariera à une autre, il commet un adultère contre elle.
And he saith to them: Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
12 Pareillement si la femme laisse son mari, et se marie à un autre, elle commet un adultère.
And if the wife shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
13 Et on lui présenta de petits enfants, afin qu'il les touchât; mais les Disciples reprenaient ceux qui les présentaient;
And they brought to him young children, that he might touch them. And the disciples rebuked them that brought them.
14 Et Jésus voyant cela, en fut indigné, et il leur dit: laissez venir à moi les petits enfants, et ne les en empêchez point; car le Royaume de Dieu appartient à ceux qui leur ressemblent.
Whom when Jesus saw, he was much displeased, and saith to them: Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 En vérité, je vous dis, que quiconque ne recevra pas comme un petit enfant le Royaume de Dieu, il n'y entrera point.
Amen I say to you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall not enter into it.
16 Après les avoir donc pris entre ses bras, il les bénit, en posant les mains sur eux.
And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
17 Et comme il sortait pour se mettre en chemin, un homme accourut, et se mit à genoux devant lui, et lui fit cette demande: Maître qui es bon, que ferai-je pour hériter la vie éternelle? (aiōnios g166)
And when he was gone forth into the way, a certain man running up and kneeling before him, asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may receive life everlasting? (aiōnios g166)
18 Et Jésus lui répondit: pourquoi m'appelles-tu bon? il n'y a nul être qui soit bon que Dieu.
And Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? None is good but one, that is God.
19 Tu sais les Commandements: Ne commets point adultère. Ne tue point. Ne dérobe point. Ne dis point de faux témoignage. Ne fais aucun tort à personne. Honore ton père et ta mère.
Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, bear not false witness, do no fraud, honour thy father and mother.
20 Il répondit, et lui dit: Maître, j'ai gardé toutes ces choses dès ma jeunesse.
But he answering, said to him: Master, all these things I have observed from my youth.
21 Et Jésus ayant jeté l'œil sur lui, l'aima, et lui dit: il te manque une chose; va, et vends tout ce que tu as, et le donne aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor au ciel; puis viens, et me suis, ayant chargé la croix.
And Jesus looking on him, loved him, and said to him: One thing is wanting unto thee: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
22 Mais il fut fâché de ce mot, et s'en alla tout triste, parce qu'il avait de grands biens.
Who being struck sad at that saying, went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Alors Jésus ayant regardé alentour, dit à ses Disciples: combien difficilement ceux qui ont des richesses entreront-ils dans le Royaume de Dieu.
And Jesus looking round about, saith to his disciples: How hardly shall they that have riches, enter into the kingdom of God!
24 Et ses Disciples s'étonnèrent de ces paroles; mais Jésus prenant encore la parole, leur dit: mes enfants, qu'il est difficile à ceux qui se confient aux richesses d'entrer dans le Royaume de Dieu!
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus again answering, saith to them: Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches, to enter into the kingdom of God?
25 Il est plus aisé qu'un chameau passe par le trou d'une aiguille, qu'il ne l'est qu'un riche entre dans le Royaume de Dieu.
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 Et ils s'en étonnèrent encore davantage, disant entre eux: et qui peut être sauvé?
Who wondered the more, saying among themselves: Who then can be saved?
27 Mais Jésus les ayant regardés, leur dit: cela est impossible quant aux hommes, mais non pas quant à Dieu; car toutes choses sont possibles à Dieu.
And Jesus looking on them, saith: With men it is impossible; but not with God: for all things are possible with God.
28 Alors Pierre se mit à lui dire: voici, nous avons tout quitté, et t'avons suivi.
And Peter began to say unto him: Behold, we have left all things, and have followed thee.
29 Et Jésus répondant, dit: en vérité je vous dis, qu’il n'y a personne qui ait laissé ou maison, ou frères, ou sœurs, ou père, ou mère, ou femme, ou enfants, ou champs, pour l'amour de moi, et de l’Evangile,
Jesus answering, said: Amen I say to you, there is no man who hath left house or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my sake and for the gospel,
31 Mais plusieurs qui sont les premiers, seront les derniers; et les derniers seront les premiers.
But many that are first, shall be last: and the last, first.
32 Or ils étaient en chemin, montant à Jérusalem, et Jésus allait devant eux; et ils étaient épouvantés, et craignaient en le suivant, parce que Jésus ayant encore pris à l'écart les douze, s'était mis à leur déclarer les choses qui lui devaient arriver;
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem: and Jesus went before them, and they were astonished; and following were afraid. And taking again the twelve, he began to tell them the things that should befall him.
33 [Disant]: voici, nous montons à Jérusalem; et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux principaux Sacrificateurs, et aux Scribes; et ils le condamneront à mort, et le livreront aux Gentils;
Saying: Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests, and to the scribes and ancients, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles.
34 Qui se moqueront de lui, et le fouetteront, et cracheront contre lui, puis ils le feront mourir; mais il ressuscitera le troisième jour.
And they shall mock him, and spit on him, and scourge him, and kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
35 Alors Jacques et Jean, fils de Zébédée, vinrent à lui, en lui disant: Maître, nous voudrions que tu fisses pour nous ce que nous te demanderons.
And James and John the sons of Zebedee, come to him, saying: Master, we desire that whatsoever we shall ask, thou wouldst do it for us:
36 Et il leur dit: que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous?
But he said to them: What would you that I should do for you?
37 Et ils lui dirent: accorde-nous que dans ta gloire nous soyons assis l'un à ta droite, et l'autre à ta gauche.
And they said: Grant to us, that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38 Et Jésus leur dit: vous ne savez ce que vous demandez; pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je dois boire; et être baptisés du Baptême dont je dois être baptisé?
And Jesus said to them: You know not what you ask. Can you drink of the chalice that I drink of: or be baptized with the baptism wherewith I am baptized?
39 Ils lui répondirent: nous le pouvons. Et Jésus leur dit: il est vrai que vous boirez la coupe que je dois boire, et que vous serez baptisés du Baptême dont je dois être baptisé;
But they said to him: We can. And Jesus saith to them: You shall indeed drink of the chalice that I drink of: and with the baptism wherewith I am baptized, you shall be baptized.
40 Mais d'être assis à ma droite et à ma gauche, ce n'est pas à moi de le donner; mais [il sera donné] à ceux à qui il est préparé.
But to sit on my right hand, or on my left, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared.
41 Ce que les dix [autres] ayant ouï, ils conçurent de l'indignation contre Jacques et Jean.
And the ten hearing it, began to be much displeased at James and John.
42 Et Jésus les ayant appelés, leur dit: vous savez que ceux qui dominent sur les nations les maîtrisent, et que les Grands d'entre eux usent d'autorité sur elles.
But Jesus calling them, saith to them: You know that they who seem to rule over the Gentiles, lord it over them: and their princes have power over them.
43 Mais il n'en sera pas ainsi entre vous; mais quiconque voudra être le plus grand entre vous, sera votre serviteur.
But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater, shall be your minister.
44 Et quiconque d'entre vous voudra être le premier, sera le serviteur de tous.
And whosoever will be first among you, shall be the servant of all.
45 Car aussi le Fils de l'homme n'est pas venu pour être servi, mais pour servir, et pour donner sa vie en rançon pour plusieurs.
For the Son of man also is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a redemption for many.
46 Puis ils arrivèrent à Jéricho; et comme il partait de Jéricho avec ses Disciples et une grande troupe, un aveugle, [appelé] Bartimée, [c'est-à-dire], fils de Timée, était assis sur le chemin, et mendiait.
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho, with his disciples, and a very great multitude, Bartimeus the blind man, the son of Timeus, sat by the way side begging.
47 Et ayant entendu que c'était Jésus le Nazarien, il se mit à crier, et à dire: Jésus, Fils de David, aie pitié de moi.
Who when he had heard, that it was Jesus of Nazareth, began to cry out, and to say: Jesus son of David, have mercy on me.
48 Et plusieurs le censuraient fortement, afin qu'il se tût; mais il criait encore plus fort: Fils de David, aie pitié de moi!
And many rebuked him, that he might hold his peace; but he cried a great deal the more: Son of David, have mercy on me.
49 Et Jésus s'étant arrêté, dit qu'on l'appelât. On l'appela donc, en lui disant: prends courage, lève-toi, il t'appelle.
And Jesus, standing still, commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying to him: Be of better comfort: arise, he calleth thee.
50 Et jetant bas son manteau, il se leva, et s'en vint à Jésus.
Who casting off his garment leaped up, and came to him.
51 Et Jésus prenant la parole, lui dit: que veux-tu que je te fasse? Et l'aveugle lui dit: Maître, que je recouvre la vue.
And Jesus answering, said to him: What wilt thou that I should do to thee? And the blind man said to him: Rabboni, that I may see.
52 Et Jésus lui dit: Va, ta foi t'a sauvé. Et sur-le-champ il recouvra la vue, et il suivit Jésus par le chemin.
And Jesus saith to him: Go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he saw, and followed him in the way.
