Luc 23
1 Puis ils se levèrent tous et le menèrent à Pilate.
And al the multitude of hem arysen, and ledden hym to Pilat.
2 Et ils se mirent à l'accuser, disant: nous avons trouvé cet homme sollicitant la nation à la révolte, et défendant de donner le tribut à César, et se disant être le Christ, le Roi.
And thei bigunnen to accuse hym, and seiden, We han foundun this turnynge vpsodoun oure folk, and forbedynge tributis to be youun to the emperour, and seiynge that hym silf is Crist and kyng.
3 Et Pilate l'interrogea, disant: Es-tu le Roi des Juifs? Et [Jésus] répondant, lui dit: tu le dis.
And Pilat axide hym, and seide, Art thou kyng of Jewis? And he answeride, and seide, Thou seist.
4 Alors Pilate dit aux principaux Sacrificateurs et à la troupe du peuple: je ne trouve aucun crime en cet homme.
And Pilat seide to the princis of prestis, and to the puple, Y fynde no thing of cause in this man.
5 Mais ils insistaient encore davantage, disant: il émeut le peuple, enseignant par toute la Judée, et ayant commencé depuis la Galilée jusques ici.
And thei woxen stronger, and seiden, He moueth the puple, techynge thorou al Judee, bigynnynge fro Galile til hidir.
6 Or quand Pilate entendit parler de la Galilée, il demanda si cet homme était Galiléen.
And Pilat herynge Galile axide, if he were a man of Galile.
7 Et ayant appris qu'il était de la juridiction d'Hérode, il le renvoya à Hérode, qui en ces jours-là était aussi à Jérusalem.
And whanne he knewe that he was of the powere of Eroude, he sente hym to Eroude; which was at Jerusalem in tho daies.
8 Et lorsque Hérode vit Jésus, il en fut fort joyeux, car il y avait longtemps qu'il désirait de le voir, à cause qu'il entendait dire plusieurs choses de lui, et il espérait qu'il lui verrait faire quelque miracle.
And whanne Eroude siy Jhesu, he ioyede ful myche; for long tyme he coueitide to se hym, for he herde many thingis of hym, and hopide to see sum tokene `to be don of hym.
9 Il l'interrogea donc par divers discours; mais [Jésus] ne lui répondit rien.
And he axide hym in many wordis; and he answeride no thing to hym.
10 Et les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Scribes comparurent, l'accusant avec une grande véhémence.
And the princis of preestis and the scribis stoden, stidfastli accusynge hym.
11 Mais Hérode avec ses gens l'ayant méprisé, et s'étant moqué de lui, après qu'il l'eut revêtu d'un vêtement blanc, le renvoya à Pilate.
But Eroude with his oost dispiside hym, and scornede hym, and clothide with a white cloth, and sente hym ayen to Pilat.
12 Et en ce même jour Pilate et Hérode devinrent amis entre eux; car auparavant ils étaient ennemis.
And Eroude and Pilat weren maad freendis fro that dai; for bifor thei weren enemyes togidre.
13 Alors Pilate ayant appelé les principaux Sacrificateurs, et les Gouverneurs, et le peuple, il leur dit:
And Pilat clepide togider the princis of prestis and the maiestratis of the puple, and seide to hem,
14 Vous m'avez présenté cet homme comme soulevant le peuple; et voici, l'en ayant fait répondre devant vous, je n'ai trouvé en cet homme aucun de ces crimes dont vous l'accusez;
Ye han brouyt to me this man, as turnynge awey the puple, and lo! Y axynge bifor you fynde no cause in this man of these thingis, in whiche ye accusen hym;
15 Ni Hérode non plus; car je vous ai renvoyés à lui, et voici, rien ne lui a été fait [qui marque qu'il soit] digne de mort.
nether Eroude, for he hath sent hym ayen to vs, and lo! no thing worthi of deth is don to hym.
16 Quand donc je l'aurai fait fouetter, je le relâcherai.
And therfor Y schal amende hym, and delyuere hym.
17 Or il fallait qu'il leur relâchât quelqu'un à la fête.
But he moste nede delyuer to hem oon bi the feest dai.
18 Et toutes les troupes s'écrièrent ensemble, disant: ôte celui-ci, et relâche-nous Barabbas;
And al the puple criede togidir, and seide, Do `awei hym, and delyuer to vs Barabas;
19 Qui avait été mis en prison pour quelque sédition faite dans la ville, avec meurtre.
which was sent `in to prisoun for disturblyng maad in the cite, and for mansleynge.
20 Pilate donc leur parla encore, voulant relâcher Jésus.
And eftsoone Pilat spak to hem, and wolde delyuer Jhesu.
21 Mais ils s'écriaient, disant: crucifie, Crucifie-le.
And thei vndurcrieden, and seiden, Crucifie, crucifie hym.
22 Et il leur dit pour la troisième fois, mais quel mal a fait cet homme? je ne trouve rien en lui qui soit digne de mort; l'ayant donc fait fouetter, je le relâcherai.
And the thridde tyme he seide to hem, For what yuel hath this don? Y fynde no cause of deeth in hym; therfor Y schal chastise hym, and Y schal delyuer.
23 Mais ils insistaient à grands cris, demandant qu'il fût crucifié; et leurs cris et ceux des principaux Sacrificateurs se renforçaient.
And thei contynueden with greet voicis axynge, that he schulde be crucified; and the voicis of hem woxen stronge.
24 Alors Pilate prononça que ce qu'ils demandaient, fût fait.
And Pilat demyde her axyng to be don.
25 Et il leur relâcha celui qui pour sédition et pour meurtre avait été mis en prison, et lequel ils demandaient; et il abandonna Jésus à leur volonté.
And he delyueride to hem hym, that for mansleyng and sedicioun was sent in to prisoun, whom thei axiden; but he bitook Jhesu to her wille.
26 Et comme ils l'emmenaient, ils prirent un certain Simon, Cyrénien, qui venait des champs, et le chargèrent de la croix pour la porter après Jésus.
And whanne thei ledden hym, thei token a man, Symon of Syrenen, comynge fro the toun, and thei leiden on hym the cross to bere aftir Jhesu.
27 Or il était suivi d'une grande multitude de peuple et de femmes, qui se frappaient la poitrine, et le pleuraient.
And there suede hym myche puple, and wymmen that weiliden, and bymorneden hym.
28 Mais Jésus se tournant vers elles, [leur] dit: filles de Jérusalem, ne pleurez point sur moi, mais pleurez sur vous-mêmes, et sur vos enfants.
And Jhesus turnede to hem, and seide, Douytris of Jerusalem, nyle ye wepe on me, but wepe ye on youre silf and on youre sones.
29 Car voici, les jours viendront auxquels on dira: bienheureuses sont les stériles, et celles qui n'ont point eu d'enfant, et les mamelles qui n'ont point nourri.
For lo! daies schulen come, in whiche it schal be seid, Blessid be bareyn wymmen, and wombis that han not borun children, and the tetis that han not youun souke.
30 Alors ils se mettront à dire aux montagnes: tombez sur nous; et aux côteaux: couvrez-nous.
Thanne thei schulen bigynne to seie to mounteyns, Falle ye doun on vs, and to smale hillis, Keuere ye vs.
31 Car s'ils font ces choses au bois vert, que sera-t-il fait au bois sec?
For if in a greene tre thei don these thingis, what schal be don in a drie?
32 Deux autres aussi [qui étaient] des malfaiteurs, furent menés pour les faire mourir avec lui.
Also othere twei wickid men weren led with hym, to be slayn.
33 Et quand ils furent venus au lieu qui est appelé le Test, ils le crucifièrent là, et les malfaiteurs aussi, l'un à la droite, et l'autre à la gauche.
And `aftir that thei camen in to a place, that is clepid of Caluerie, there thei crucifieden hym, and the theues, oon on the riyt half, and `the tother on the left half.
34 Mais Jésus disait: Père, pardonne-leur, car ils ne savent ce qu'ils font. Ils firent ensuite le partage de ses vêtements, et ils les jetèrent au sort.
But Jhesus seide, Fadir, foryyue hem, for thei witen not what thei doon.
35 Et le peuple se tenait là regardant; et les Gouverneurs aussi se moquaient de lui avec eux, disant: il a sauvé les autres, qu'il se sauve lui-même, s'il est le Christ, l'élu de Dieu.
And thei departiden his clothis, and kesten lottis. And the puple stood abidynge; and the princis scorneden hym with hem, and seiden, Othere men he maad saaf; make he hym silf saaf, if this be Crist, the chosun of God.
36 Les soldats aussi se moquaient de lui, s'approchant, et lui présentant du vinaigre;
And the knyytis neiyeden, and scorneden hym, and profreden vynegre to hym,
37 Et disant: si tu es le Roi des Juifs, sauve-toi toi-même.
and seiden, If thou art king of Jewis, make thee saaf.
38 Or il y avait au-dessus de lui un écriteau en lettres Grecques, et Romaines, et Hébraïques, [en ces mots]: CELUI-CI EST LE ROI DES JUIFS.
And the superscripcioun was writun ouer hym with Greke lettris, and of Latyn, and of Ebreu, This is the kyng of Jewis.
39 Et l'un des malfaiteurs qui étaient pendus, l'outrageait, disant: si tu es le Christ, sauve-toi toi-même, et nous aussi.
And oon of these theues that hangiden, blasfemyde hym, and seide, If thou art Crist, make thi silf saaf and vs.
40 Mais l'autre prenant la parole le censurait fortement, disant: au moins ne crains-tu point Dieu, puisque tu es dans la même condamnation?
But `the tothir answerynge, blamyde hym, and seide, Nether thou dredist God, that art in the same dampnacioun?
41 Et pour nous, nous y sommes justement: car nous recevons des choses dignes de nos crimes, mais celui-ci n'a rien fait qui ne se dût faire.
And treuli we iustli, for we han resseiued worthi thingis to werkis; but this dide no thing of yuel.
42 Puis il disait à Jésus: Seigneur! souviens-toi de moi quand tu viendras en ton Règne.
And he seide to Jhesu, Lord, haue mynde of me, whanne thou comest `in to thi kyngdom.
43 Et Jésus lui dit: en vérité je te dis, qu'aujourd'hui tu seras avec moi en paradis.
And Jhesus seide to hym, Treuli Y seie to thee, this dai thou schalt be with me in paradise.
44 Or il était environ six heures, et il se fit des ténèbres par tout le pays jusqu'à neuf heures;
And it was almest the sixte our, and derknessis weren maad in al the erthe `in to the nynthe our.
45 Et le soleil fut obscurci, et le voile du Temple se déchira par le milieu.
And the sun was maad derk, and the veile of the temple was to-rent atwo.
46 Et Jésus criant à haute voix, dit: Père, je remets mon esprit entre tes mains! Et ayant dit cela, il rendit l'esprit.
And Jhesus criynge with a greet vois, seide, Fadir, in to thin hoondis Y bitake my spirit. And he seiynge these thingis, yaf vp the goost.
47 Or le Centenier voyant ce qui était arrivé, glorifia Dieu, disant: certes cet homme était juste.
And the centurien seynge that thing that was don, glorifiede God, and seide, Verili this man was iust.
48 Et toutes les troupes qui s'étaient assemblées à ce spectacle, voyant les choses qui étaient arrivées, s'en retournaient frappant leurs poitrines.
And al the puple of hem that weren there togidir at this spectacle, and sayn tho thingis that weren don, smyten her brestis, and turneden ayen.
49 Et tous ceux de sa connaissance, et les femmes qui l'avaient suivi de Galilée, se tenaient loin, regardant ces choses.
But alle his knowun stoden afer, and wymmen that sueden hym fro Galile, seynge these thingis.
50 Et voici un personnage appelé Joseph, Conseiller, homme de bien, et juste,
And lo! a man, Joseph bi name, of Aramathie, a cite of Judee, that was a decurien, a good man and a iust,
51 Qui n'avait point consenti à leur résolution, ni à leur action, [lequel était] d'Arimathée ville des Juifs, [et] qui aussi attendait le Règne de Dieu;
this man concentide not to the counseil and to the dedis of hem; and he abood the kyngdom of God.
52 Etant venu à Pilate, lui demanda le corps de Jésus.
This Joseph cam to Pilat, and axide the bodi of Jhesu,
53 Et l'ayant descendu [de la croix], il l'enveloppa dans un linceul, et le mit en un sépulcre taillé dans le roc, où personne n'avait encore été mis.
and took it doun, and wlappide it in a cleene lynen cloth, and leide hym in a graue hewun, in which not yit ony man hadde be leid.
54 Or c'était le jour de la préparation, et le [jour] du Sabbat allait commencer.
And the dai was the euen of the halidai, and the sabat bigan to schyne.
55 Et les femmes qui étaient venues de Galilée avec Jésus, ayant suivi [Joseph], regardèrent le sépulcre, et comment le corps de Jésus y était mis.
And the wymmen suynge, that camen with hym fro Galile, sayn the graue, and hou his bodi was leid.
56 Puis s'en étant retournées, elles préparèrent des drogues aromatiques et des parfums; et le jour du Sabbat elles se reposèrent selon le commandement [de la Loi].
And thei turneden ayen, and maden redi swete smellynge spicis, and oynementis; but in the sabat thei restiden, aftir the comaundement.
